  1. If you have the pitching you don't have to worry so much about moonshots, especially with a team like the SOX who has hitters!
  2. Exactly my point, and the wheels tend to fall off most once they reach the SOX. Pitching and defense wins championships! Sign a pitcher, our offense is fine.
  3. Let's not get too excited about potential line-ups or how many HR's we can expect if we land Cruz. Pitching and defense win championships, and our line-up is potent enough IF we had stronger pitching. By stronger I don't mean any of our outstanding prospects, I mean a proven starter like Tanaka or Paxton. Giving Cruz 2 years would be a mistake.
  4. Answer would be sign Trevor Bauer but I doubt that will happen.
  5. I prefer.......With Engle, and especially Cespedes and possibly Colas, it wasn't exactly an area of need.
  6. Don't remind me of B & B, couldn't stand the condescending jerks and your comment on Rongey is spot on.
  7. Bauer would be the key signing this year that I believe will happen. We can't rely on Cease, Kopech, or Crochet to lead us to the promised land.
  8. Agree totally, while perhaps not a bonafide ace, he is a horse who carries a nice WHIP to go along with reliability. Dunning was a work in progress, this team needs winners to get it across the finish line.
  9. Please he's Mr Know it all Admin., he doesn't need evidence he just spouts his mouth off.
  10. Perhaps you should read back and see who exactly you are addressing before you call me out for saying something that I never said. BTW- pal, It would take a lot more than that to hurt my feelings.
  11. They do have anger management classes perhaps you should look into one. I was not a fan of the hire who by the way was brought into this thread when the pollster stated "pathetic drunk" and "drunk-assed" which were also not called for. I believe alcoholism is a disease that can be treated. That's neither here or there, I believe the man was simply trying to move the conversation along to the actual topic.
  12. The man just stated "Tony La Russa is the Manager get over it" and you react like that? I call that an overreaction.
  13. Welcome to the free world where you shouldn't be surprised what any athlete makes, and if you can do better than Jace, step up to the bump and earn it. I stopped being surprised about what people make when I read a long time ago that the 4 actors in Friends each made 1 million dollars per episode. Think about that my friend before being surprised at the 900,000 a major league relief pitcher earns for a year.
  14. Back already???? I'll make you a bet that you'll be back again, care to wager?
  15. See ya....but I have feeling you'll still be around.

  17. Finally...the door opens and a crack of light appears. Hopefully this is a signal the Sox aren't letting Tony pick his staff knowing they may have to can him if guilty.
  18. I disagree and believe it's the Teams responsibility to protect their assets if they think highly enough of him to draft him number 1 Logical... and not an overreaction.
  19. I guess but it's kinda like tossing the keys to your Corvette to your 16 year old son and telling him to take it easy and don't go too fast.
  20. One good reason would be to protect your long term assets like what Washington did with Strasburg. This kid went from college, to a MLB season ending playoff push, to being the savior of a game 3 playoff clincher after the starter was removed after 15 pitches. After seeing Dunning removed that had to put added pressure into a already pressure situation for a rookie. He risked his health after feeling something “I was kind of sore just like leading up to the game,” Crochet said." and pitched anyway because at that point he didn't want to let the other players down. Say what you want about throwing him in there as if it can do no harm, the kid felt pressure to perform and could have hurt his long term chance for success. He's your number 1 draft pick and he was scared of losing his job, that say's a lot. about Sox Management caring about their players health. “I felt like I just hadn’t been recovering well because I felt like I was thrown into the mix pretty quick and tried not to really speak out of turn. I didn’t want to feel like they were going to have somebody else do my job. It should be up to Management to realize that they need to ease their future assets along and not throw them into the fire. What they failed to do is sign a SP at the trade deadline when they knew they only had 2 legitimate SP's. As for Jerry, it's not that he doesn't know how, it's more like he doesn't know how to open his wallet
