  1. Nice frame job by the catcher no-one wanted. It wasn't a strike but when it tails off (correction, tails in) it just misses the lower inside corner.
  2. Like it would really matter, we could get all the calls and we'd still have this record. It's not like the next batter wasn't going to ground or strike out anyway.
  3. So we put Sheets a 1B/DH in the outfield and start Eloy at DH, for what? I say put Eloy in RF and let him injure himself so I don't have to watch him beat the ball in the ground or swing at pitches outside the zone.
  4. Don't count on it. We need hope that the Sox will actually be able to develop these players and keep them healthy instead of calling them up before they're ready or playing them out of position.
  5. I think that fact has already been proven. Yes they are only out for the $$$$$$ and could care less about developing a team to actually win ball games.
  6. Born in August of 1959 I like to tell my kids that the siren's the mayor turned on when the Sox won the pennant woke me up. I became an avid Sox fan in 1970 and have followed them ever since through mostly bad times but at least it was baseball. This video is how I feel about the team now, and I will do my best to not subject my self to this BS excuse of a baseball team until things get better, which may be awhile. I'll continue to get updates from SoxTalk but I'm basically done with this team until I see something to change my current outlook which is bleak.
  7. Ozzie also questioned why Crochett was still pitching after throwing 90 pitches down 5-0. Ozzie's right, they need to learn how to save his arm, or he'll be toast by the All-Star game and headed to surgery.
  8. I'd rather not read anything Paul Sullivan writes.
  9. They'd make the wrong selection anyway so it doesn't really matter where they draft.
  10. It doesn't really matter since once you bring him up, you can send him down and bring him back multiple times during the season without losing any additional options. You would have to expose him to waivers after the 5th call-up but I hope we wouldn't need to call him up more than 5 times in a season. Only one Minor League option is used per season, regardless of how many times a player is optioned to and from the Minors over the course of a given season. (Players may only be optioned five times per season; after that, it requires outright assignment waivers to assign the player to the Minor Leagues.) Tampa Bay was a master at this with their pitchers especially their relievers being brought up and sent down throughout the season multiple times.
  11. This is my favorite Getz quote...." It's really about staying the course", "This isn't something that was going to be turned around Overnight" Compared to JR's quotes at Getz introductory news conference......Reinsdorf, 87, made it clear he doesn’t want to go through another major overhaul after the most recent rebuild came up short. The team has a foundation in place, he said, adding: “We’re not going to take the guys that we have now and clean out and start over again.” Reinsdorf said he put together a list of internal and external candidates to run the baseball operation. He said he was impressed with the way minor leaguers were taught to play under Getz’s direction and believed the fastest path to a turnaround was by promoting from within. An external candidate would have needed a year to evaluate the organization. Right Jerry, and you think Sox fans are stupid enough to believe your B.S.
  12. The Sox failed to develop Vaughn and Sheets as Outfielders, even though they had the great Daryl Boston coaching them. LOL, they stalled both players development and possibly their careers by calling them up before they were ready to play and then forcing them to play a position they never played before. Only the Sox would try to try to let two 1B/DH's with absolutely no speed patrol the outfield. Who in the Sox organization thought this was a good idea? Kenny, Rick, Chris, Tony should have all been in on the decision, however the real reason we never signed an outfielder or 2B is Mr Reinsdorf who should take all the blame for hiring incompetent people to direct the White Sox. It all starts at the top so we really should stop blaming everyone JR hired. He could have signed a legitimate MLB Manager or GM however he chose to hire from within as he always does.Until JR goes or sells, discussions like these will continue to dominate Sox Talk when the real culprit is our owner.
  13. Grifool talking about Colas.........“His attitude has been really good; he’s been fundamentally sound,” “I’m just looking for him to play baseball the way we asked him to play it last year. I was happy to hear that news and now it’s his time to shine." Only a clueless fool would say this the day before they send Colas back to the minors the following day.
  14. To do what, SHEETS is our DH, time for Eloy to go home to Mommy.
  15. I expect Colas to pull an abductor stepping off the plane.
  16. Which was just about everyone on this site.
  17. It always bothered me to see them use the leg bands during warm-ups and the dragging of the trainer in the harness as if he was on a sled instead of grass. Couldn't be good for you IMO, and I never saw other teams use the same equipment in their pre-game warmups.
  18. A couple of younger prospects, LOL. We were lucky to have gotten anything besides a bag of balls for Bummer. I see he's lights out in Atlanta....4.1 IP, 1 L (already), 6.23 ERA, and 2.08 WHIP
  19. Of course you didn't, however if they were being shut out the bet would have certainly been on and you would of been bragging about it.
  20. Common Sense and White Sox should never be in the same sentence.
  21. The future is here, buy in and watch 10 year has been vets instead of showcasing the minor league talent you don't have.
  22. I also read that Eloy said it was his groin, WTF happened to his abductor that was reported. I thought it was interesting seeing him taking BP swings so early and with authority with an abductor injury. So typical they don't know what's going on, it's beyond ridiculous.
  23. Pedro is clueless or must have been asleep last year because they made fundamental mistakes practically every game.
  24. And that he wants to go home. Please go BIG BABY!!!
  25. Pregame they said he was available to pinch-hit after taking batting practice and running
