  1. What was the bad call in the 6th that hurt us? Can't see game and gameday won't explain anything like that.
  2. What was the bad call in the 6th everyone mentioned? Still in St. Louis and can't see game.
  3. QUOTE(SnB @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) haha, mine's already ordered. Maybe I'll get the "Got Pierzynski?" one to mix things up.
  4. Sometimes it doesn't matter how nice you are or how informed you are, but whether you're kissing the right butt. Who knows.
  5. I will be getting that "Got Crede?" shirt upon my return home.
  6. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 09:56 AM) And the Rock? IMO, the most overrated wrestler EVER. Except Goldberg. And a whole host of other people. But I hated the Rock! I's agree to an extent. He was a bonafied athlete in the ring and was very good at selling moves. His mic work I thought was childish and overrated. His later stuff around WM 19 was better than his stuff during his top run when he would steal material and kind of say things like Cena is now. Kind of sophmoric.

    Summer Vacays

Benn down in Southern IL since Friday. Power got knocked out as soon as I got here and just came back on Monday morning. They had bad storms, lots of farms ruined. Kind of sad because I have been coming down here since I was a kid and have memories and lots of things gone or changed. Can't wait to get back to Chicago tomorrow.
  8. I got mine in 2003 during our hot streak after the AS Break. Shoulder blade so I can cover it up when I get old. In thing to show off this winter obviously. Got it in Libertyville.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) Any link to report 2? Think it may of been Rosenthal's updated report. Can't find it now, maybe he took it down and updated again.
  10. QUOTE(spiderman @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) ESPN was orginally reporting that Brandon McCarthy was involved - obviously, that turned out to wrong as Kenny Williams denied that McCarthy would be traded. Saying that, I wonder if ESPN jumped on this story without having their facts straight, and all of the other news organizations, including our 2 local sports stations just jumped on the national story. What say you ? I read two reports. One surrounding Brandon and another involving Fields and Broadway. With Crede becoming our staple at 2rd, that makes Fields expendable and Broadway is 2 or 3 years away from contributing. They could probably throw in Rogowski if KW had to. But who knows. Nobody will know until it becomes official if at all.
  11. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) Yeah and what about Braodway, Phillips, and Haeger? Not including our crop we drafted this year. I know they are a couple of years away, but as been said before, they are prospects until they do something in the majors. Remember some of our other can't-misses: Rauch, Kip Wells, Ruffcorn, even Baldwin to a point. Who knows what Kenny's got in mind, but In Kenny I Trust...my 2005 World Series DVD says so. I'm with you in a way. I don't want to give up McCarthy because that means we are picking up Garcia's option for next year and I would of rather have given a younger, cheaper, pitcher in Brandon a chance. Too bad we couldn't move Garcia for Soriano, would free up money to extend Alfonso. But KW knows what he is doing.
  12. Source: ChiSox 'extremely close' to Soriano dealESPN.com news services The White Sox are "extremely close" to trading for Nationals outfielder Alfonso Soriano, a source close to the situation told ESPN The Magazine's Tim Kurkjian. The Nationals have great interest in pitcher Brandon McCarthy. The White Sox, said the source, also are close to acquiring pitcher Mike MacDougal from the Royals in exchange for minor league pitcher Tyler Lumsden. Soriano joined Washington last offseason in a trade from Texas, and the Nationals shifted him from second base to left field. Soriano is batting .288 with 31 homers, 62 RBI and 25 steals. The slugger is scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the season. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
  13. Just caught the end of the report so don't know any details. Just said we are VERY close to getting Soriano. Anyone else catch it?
  14. Glad I'm outta town and can't watch the game.
  15. Mariano Rivera gives up his 1st HR of the year. Vernon Wells wins it in the 11th for the Jays.
  16. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 05:33 PM) I'm sorry, Critic. There is almost no way that the Punjabi Prison Match can beat any of the following for worst match of all time: Anything from the card at WrestleMania IX Shawn Michaels vs. Tatanka was good, except the bogus ending.
  17. Didn't see the game cuz of work, but I like the point as of late that Javy should ditch his curve and stick with fastball, change, slider. Seems he got hurt with the curve tonight from what I read and in the past. Just hangs it too much. Hawk said it lkast week and Detroit announcers made a mention tonight.
  18. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) The people who complain about hawk need to get MLB extra innings for a little bit. Yes he's a homer, but he knows baseball and he shows enthusiasm. I got MLB extra innings free for about a week, and some of the guys were downright awful. Baltimore's guys were the worst, they acted the same every play no matter who made it or what happened. I know people will kill me for this, but one of my favorite baseball announcers is John Sterling. I hate the f***ing Yankees, but the guy shows enthusiasm. I've gotten the package for the past 5 seasons and it gives me a chance to hear professional announcers, that are NOT Hawk Harrelson. Of course Hawk knows what he is talking about, he has been around the game forever, but it is how you present it. When Hawk is quiet after our opponents score, that just comes off as unproffessional IMO. I think the Yankee guys are top notch. Do they same "Seeeeya" homer call for both teams and gives good info. There good announcers, than there are the announcers for Pittsburgh, who are extremely dull, but wonder if you can blame them. I'd put Hawk a little below the middle.
  19. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) When I look at Orton, I see a smug jackass who feels he should receive undeserved pushes because of who his Dad and Grampa were. His antics backstage and clear disregard for company rules and policies reinforces to me that he clearly thinks he's better than the business. Where that comes from, I don't know, because IMO he's a mediocre worker with below-average mic skills. That is pretty much every wrestler in the 80s and mid 90s before the internet explosion. I remember my shock when I first heard that Randy Savage threatened to quit of something if he didn't win the WM 4 tourney. I don't let what goes on behind the scenes effect my opinion of a guy on screen. I think if the writers in wrestling were better, you'd see Orton's talent more.
  20. Bobby Abreu stats: G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB BA OBP SLG Season 90 307 60 88 23 2 8 61 20 .287 .439 .453 Power numbers are down but his OBP is impressive. Did not realize he walked so much. I agree that Thames has been too clutch to trade, but it could also be a flash in the pan type year and Abreu, Ordonez, and Granderson in their OF for years could hurt a lot of people.
  21. Greg Maddux - S - Cubs A scoring change from a May 24 game against the Marlins has taken five earned runs away from Greg Maddux's record, lowering his ERA from 4.99 to 4.60. Scorer Ron Jernick said he made the change after the Cubs appealed the May 24 ruling to MLB. The reversal also takes a hit away from Hanley Ramirez and gives Ronny Cedeno an error. Jul. 19 - 2:37 pm et Never heard of anything like this before. 2 months after the game? Makes his ERA lower and better trade bait? lol
  22. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) Man somehow I knew that when Kelly got caned, you'd love it the most...but things haven't been the same since Russo left. Hell I think a few of us on this board could put together a better script. For example, I'd keep the strap on Edge for a little while, develop this Carlito/Nitro feud a bit, develop an actual tag division and have Triple H feud with Orton (i dunno why i'm a mark for Orton, theres just somethin about him) Dont get me started on what i'd do with WWECW... Vince Russo was the worst thing to happen to wrestling ever. He wasn't the mind behind WWF/E's rise, Vince was. He pretty much single hadedly made WCW a joke and ran them into the ground. Every old time wrestling fan should like/respect Randy Orton. He has natural heel charisma that Ric Flair had back in the day.
  23. I could take those pitchers yard!
