QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 06:55 AM) Yeah, the Canadian $ is at an all time high as well. It could reduce the amount of imports that the US gets, while increasing exports. While the Canadian dollar is much higher than in recent years(64 cents to now around 80 cents) it is nowhere near an all-time high. In fact, if I'm not mistaken it wasn't too long ago that our dollar was worth more than the US dollar.

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/20...sile050222.html This is really big news for us as it's been a large debate in our country for the last couple years. Bush is going to be pissed off as he's been pressing us to join for a long time.

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) In other econ news, the dollar is sliding because South Korea is starting to dump dollars in its reserve, and consumer confidence dipped too. And as a result of that and new high prices in Oil Biggest point loss in 21 months for the Dow on oil spike

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) LMAO.. One of the people in my office said their friend called Fred Durst and he answered.. said "no, you can not have an effing autograph" and hung up. Supposedly he called back and he then said "no, I will not take you to the Playboy Mansion". Sounds like he's having fun with it. Can't imagine why they just don't change their number's though.. Fred Durst is just not used to getting any attention, he's loving it.

QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) im not going to come up in here and say that im smarter than any of you or anything like that, but the thing that keeps getting me is the constant posting of everyday happenings in iraq. Last time i checked this was a war and it is expected that people die unfortunately. it sure would look nice if there was a week where no one died but this war isnt being fought in candyland. But if posting death statistics is your thing, post away. I have put a lot more than death statistics on here. But if you don't actually read what I write you wouldn't know that, and if you're not reading what I write don't judge it.

QUOTE(Yoda @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) I've only read 'Fear and Loathing' and that was fantastic. 'The Rum Diarys' is on my list. It's sad news, seemed quite a destructive character from what i've heard. They're making a movie of The Rum Diary now too. Starring Depp, Del Toro, Hartnett and Nolte.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Good asessment, it's the kind of horror movie that horror movies should be...not the bloody, slasher crap. I hope someone remakes it with a real cast and they tighten up the plot. Well there's already going to be a sequel, directed by a different guy. And so far the only for sure cast member coming back is Shawnee Smith(helmet thing girl). http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movies/saw2.php

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) I thought the woman with the jaw thing was the best. Yup, her name is Shawnee Smith. Here's what I wrote on another message board.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) Finally got around to renting 'Saw'. Man, this film had potential and really good ideas, but it was hurt by some really bad acting. The guy who played the Dr. was just awful, everyone else was mediocre. I'm gonna watch it again tonight, there is a glitch or two in the plot somewhere. or three... Really fun movie with really weird or bad acting. Was it just me or did Cary Elwes character become English when he got really mad? And no matter how unrealistic it was I loved the final plot twist, looking forward to the sequel.
