Juan Uribe highting against lefthanders and Jose Valentin hitting against righthanders really isn't a bad combination. Also Uribe can always be a good late defensive replacement for Valentin.

There is nothing official about the Sox offering Eddie that. Just some guy wrote it.

Using saves to blowns saves stats to compare a middle reliever and a closer are 100% useless. They show nothing. Damaso Marte is a better pitcher plain and simple. Not taking anything away from Guardado though, he somehow usually gets the job done. This acquisition only makes sense if we traded Koch, so right now it is just a rumour.

Another good right handed reliever available is Todd Worrell, and there are many more.

Jas I just think it's a case of there being so many decent relievers comparable to Sullivan now available. And that it is very likely that KW will be able to sign them for less than Sully would have earned in arbitration.

It's important to note that we would not be able to sign 7 or 9 first round types. That would be too expensive. We'd have to take lower calibre players for less money.
