I think you underestimate Konerko's trade value.

You know Abo if he has a hell of a year at Birmingham next year he might get a Cottsesque shot at the major leagues. And with the confidence he has he might even have some success. Then again we've been developping Honel to be an ace in our staff so we might not give him the shot no matter what, not until he is completely ready. Which could be 05, 06.

I understand what you are saying a little now, but I don't think you can call an above average pitcher a bust. He has got lots of time and he really wasn't that inconsistent, you can probably look at his pitching lines for 2003 and I'm sure he together strung many quality starts in a row.

You really think Jon Garland is a bust Cubkilla? He's no world beater yet but he there is no way he's been a bust. How old is he 24?

When a team declines to pick up a player's option does he become an unrestricted free agent, or does a team have to pick him up for what his option was worth? I'm pretty sure he becomes a UFA therefore teh price for J.T. Snow would depend on many things. We don't need to worry about it if we trade Konerko.

I would love to see a player like J.T. Snow come here if Paully was traded. He fits here for all the right reasons.

How good is Fullmer defensively at first base? If we have both Konerko and Thomas still their is no point in having Fullmer on our team. If Thomas was gone though, it might not be a bad idea to have Fullmer play 1st base with Konerko DHing. Fullmer seems like a pretty agressive in nature in person and may try to prove that Anaheim was wrong for dropping him. That could result in some good numbers.

He never really was that huge of a stud though. He had a million saves with Oakland but he wasn't exactly a stud.

Spring training is going to be very important for Billy. If he can show that he can consistenly be up close to 96-99 mph again he will be given the shot to close at the start of the season. If he is pitching down in the 90s in spring training then who knows what we will do with him. Probably just mop-up or maybe even a chance to start. Marte will close if Koch isn't back to his old form. It is important to note that even when Billy is at his best he's still not that great and I still believe Marte is a much better pitcher. It comes down to the $$$ we're paying for him.

Before we go ahead and name a new mod is there actually any need for one?

I've been around here since Kip Wells days and have never really helped on the board. And with all our losses on Saturday maybe some help is needed. Please feel free to ask for help.

I think you're coming to that conclusion a little fast. Sanders never really got a good chance and Schoenweis showed lots of promise down the stretch. I think Schoenweis could at least be a decent Embree like pitcher.

Why would Schoenweis or Sanders be removed from the 40 man roster?
