  1. If Moncada comes back, and Ramos is still playing well, this would be a good problem to have. This would be quite rare for us.
  2. Fair, but I think it's BS when we do that about prospects too.
  3. You're probably right. I was just thinking Grossman could provide a bit more balance rather than push out others.
  4. Yes, he has been terrible there. I'm not sure if they just added him to the 40-man roster. Or if he has actually been called up.
  5. I think this is actually quite simple. Robbie Grossman is an above average right-handed hitter. Over .800 career OPS from the right side against left handers. Limited sample size, but that was continuing with the White Sox (.976 OPS). Over 900 with Texas last year too. Meanwhile, Texas Rangers outfielders Travis Jankowski and Evan Carter (both lefties), are terrible against left-handed pitching. On top of that, Wyatt Langford, another outfielder, just went on the DL for them.
  6. I'd consider trading Jimenez. Horrible defender, horrible runner, and at-best slightly above average DH.
  7. I was wondering the same thing. This quote doesn't really make sense absent other details.
  8. Soroka has by far the worst FIP of all qualified pitchers in baseball. The combination of below average velocity and bottom of the barrel control is a big problem. If he can throw more strikes I guess it's possible for him to become something of a poor-to-fair starter rather than a horrible starter.
  9. I just can't get upset about Tommy Pham, TOMMY PHAM... getting a day off. This is not what is holding us back.
  10. Lenyn Sosa has basically refused to take a walk during his professional career. Especially in his time at the major league level. PLEASE avoid these types of players in the rebuild to the extent possible.
  11. Crochet's SOs/9 leads the entire league*. Hope he gets a nice start. *I assume this is among qualified starters.
  12. We probably aren't going to win this game. (if this franchise isn't going to put much effort in to win games, I don't think I should put much effort into my posts)
  13. Do we really think Vaughn is worse than Sheets at first? Really?
  14. FYI - It looks like Korey Lee is throwing runners out at the league average. Around 23% of the time. But Maldonado has only thrown out 1 runner all year to a very poor caught stealing rate. Another great reason to keep Korey in the line-up as much as possible.
  15. Weird report... he's given up 5 homeruns already and has a FIP of 6.00.
  16. Eder has pitched less than 9 innings and Jake Burger's sample size is also super small. So let's not get ahead of ourselves.
  17. I thought this was a discussion about Colas? P.S. Did he actually get optioned? Or bad reporting?
  18. A reminder that Gavin Sheets has only 33 plate appearances this year.
