  2. What the heck. The taliban is not Al-Qaeda they are allies. You switched the word Taliban for Al-Qaeda http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taliban Also interesting that the United States ally Northern Alliance brought Osama there in the first place. Please refer to my thread where 2 independent studies concluded that the War in Iraq has given Al-Qaeda a boost. To me the suggestion that the War on Terror is already harming Al-Qaeda seems completely unfounded. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37165 Oh and I never said anything about the measures the US has taken on their own grounds. Americans have chose to live like that, that's their choice. But it's not just security in the lives of Americans that the terrorists have changed, just for example I swear it seems that almost half the time the word TERROR is part of the headline on CNN. Instead of talking about more important issues that actually have affect on most Americans, this is the always overlooked blow that terrorists have inflicted on ALL news following Americans.
  3. This thread is just one bit of proof on that argument. Many in this thread are conceding that there is going to be another terrorist attack and I believe most of these people were Bush voters and I believe Bush was the one who said something to the effect of we're fighting in Iraq so we fight them there not on our own turf. Not to mention how much Al-Qaeda has grown and been legitimized as a real organization since Bush took over. Bush has started a War which can and will never be won the way it's currently being fought and extremists are loving it.
  4. Al-Qaeda is kicking Bush's ass.
  5. So you think Democrats aren't winning because they aren't religious enough? But they should pretend to be more religious as to get more of the religious vote. Then they could use their power to end the Orwellian acts of the Republicans? So basically the 2 parties would become even more similar and Americans would have an even less democratic vote? The only thing this is going to do is give more power to the small parties because America doesn't want 2 religion obsessed parties.
  6. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) The more important question is why is Michael Bay still allowed to make films? You'll be happy to hear that The Island only made a little over 4million on Friday. Only barely ahead of Bad News Bears and not even twice as much as Devil's Rejects.
  7. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) And it's hilarious to you why? Because you don't agree with Goldberg's views? What if it was Al Franken being ambushed? Or some other liberal writer? Methinks your liberal horns are showing. I clearly explained in my post what I think was funny.
  8. ... The kid getting shot at is a mean prank but what made me laugh is when he took of his sunglasses. He went from shrieking pussy to bad ass mamajama and back to shrieking pussy in less than 30 seconds!
  9. trailer now online http://pdl.warnerbros.com/wbmovies/vforven...640_reflect.mov I don't particularly like the look of the trailer but this is still registering as a must-see for me
  10. Blasphemy, Sex, Rape, Murder, Torture, Drug Use, Deserving of its own thread What Movie am I describing? The Devil's Rejects of course. This film is leaps and bounds(cliché thread?) ahead of Rob's first work, House of a 1000 corpses. If you didn't know, Rejects is actually a sequel of sorts to 1000 corpses but it is nothing like 1000 corpses. Rejects is an always offending Revenge/Exploitation flick which doesn't delve into the paranormal as its horror predecessor did. Rob Zombie challenges the standard good vs evil plotline to the extreme and is sure to offend thousands of now traumatized audience members who were expecting to see another Boogeyman or Amityville Horror. This is the film which for me cements Zombie as one of the top horror directors and a rival to Japanese cult legend Takashi Miike. The acting is across the board great from William Forsythe to Diamond Dallas Paige, and I'll give a golden star to Sid Haig, Ken Foree and Bill Moseley(who deserves an oscar). Oh and did I mention it is frickin' hilarious, of course if you're not in utter shock. The musical score is also fantastic and Zombie got rid of those annoying montage sequences. The only complaint I have was with the slo-mos, I sometimes get peeved at the use of slo-mos and this movie uses a ton of them and I fear that in further viewings they will get to me. Rejects will leave you questioning many things, the characters, religion and your own reactions to the film. If you have a strong tolerance level and are a fan of quirky and or horror films there is no reasonable excuse for not seeing this before you die. Genius. 9/10 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0395584/ awesome trailer http://www.apple.com/trailers/lions_gate/t.../tdr_large.html spoiler Dr.Satan doesn't appear in this one but read the synopsis of El Superbeasto, a straight to video flick written and produced by Zombie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419724/
  11. http://movies.crooksandliars.com/Donny_Deu...ie_Goldberg.mov Hilarious video. Deutsch almost blows a gasket, Goldberg tells some crazy woman to shut up and interestingly enough the blogger hits the nail right on the head. http://www.imdb.com/news/sb/2005-07-22/#3 *lambasted
  12. Urinals are still a godsend in clubs. For whatever reason drunks at clubs who use the toilets to piss in seem to be encouraged to miss they also have a tendancy to place cups around the toilet and use them are targets. I'm thankful I've never had to go to the #2 at a nightclub it's usually an awful mess.

  14. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) The actor was adopted into the pitcher's distant family. You missed my point. Watch this flash intro and you'll understand what I'm talking about seeing as Ray Liotta is Italian and was in Goodfellas. http://www.sopranostv.co.uk/container.html
  15. Also saw Gunner Palace a week or so ago. It wasn't the most compelling documentary with relatively low production values. Nonetheless I think it's currently the best portrait of the War in Iraq along with a few tv documentaries of the same subject. The filmmakers don't seem to take any certain political stance on the War as they leave it up to the soldiers to form the opinions expressed by this doc which are I'd say somewhat against American involvement in Iraq. Whether the directors chose soldiers with opinions to match their opinions or not is up for interpretation. Solid and educational doc. 7/10 trailer http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/...palace-tlr.html
  16. posted this on film-talk.com felt it was worthwhile to put on here This is my first live-action anime movie and I'm wondering if it is the first movie of it's kind. This is an incredibly creative, yet convoluted futuristic war epic apparently remade from an earlier anime film. The effects in some places were really great especially in the fight sequence between the neo-sapien robot army and Casshern. In contrast, the choreography of the fight scenes seemed very poor, even worse than that of Batman Begins. The effects on backgrounds and surroundings don't seem to rival those of Sin City, another movie done against green screens but are nonetheless impressive in detail. The plot of the film is very interesting for the first half but then after a false ending the movie become confusing, overlong and overly-dazzling. Also for a really cool costume and incredible powers the filmmakers fail to portray Casshern as a great hero, whether this was intended or not I don't know but I took issue it. Oh and did anyone else notice the reference to The Untouchables? 6/10 http://www.apple.com/jp/quicktime/trailers...hern_large.html
  17. great source for your news I'm all for this, if anything it will make people stop complaining about CBS or CNN being liberally biased.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) Wait, now I'm confused cause I know he was in Field of Dreams. And they are actually distant cousins (un-related blood wise) but Ray was adopted into the family. Which family are you talking about?
  19. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Has anyone else read Hedrick Smith's "The Power Game?" so good. all of this is perfect examples of distractionary politics and power grabbing. GWB is rendered powerless by the left and the distractions within his own party allow his failures, or difficulties rather, in Iraq to go unnoticed. I don't think a civil war would go unnoticed.
  20. Good points, I didn't realize Fitzgerald was a Republican, do you have a link. I wish I could know the future, but I wouldn't worry so much if Rove just stepped down or his security was revoked.
  21. It's hilarious to see Bush say that no one will be fired unless they are convicted of a crime. There is almost no chance that Rove will be convicted now or any time in the near future. I could see someone like McClellan resigning though. Polls aren't looking good though as both Right and Left seem angered. Only a quarter of Americans believe the white house is cooperating and less than 50% of Republicans which is a big decline. Oddly enough in 2003 91% of Americans thought someone who leaked information should be fired compared to 75% now. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/PollVault/story?id=949950
