  1. yes it did.... actually i figured he did much worse till i saw them playing with his hands........ I hyperextended a few fingers back in the ole' college days on plays very similar to that where your hand rolls underneath your body on a dive attempt. He'll be fine in a day or 2. Ice Maggs, plenty of ice.
  2. Shocker. It looked awkward the way his hand twisted undernearth him.
  3. That is good news. Thanks HSC. Could have been a whole lot worse.
  4. Listen Captain Oblivious, after months and months of reading assinine posts, I finally decided to get a screen name and get in the mix. It is Obvious, Captain, that some people just don't know what they are talking about when it comes to the game if baseball. Because you (not you in particular) are a fan and have thousands of post, doesn't mean you know anything about the game. Remember.... Talking is by nature Silence by Wisdom
  5. Good point, but maybe JM was trying to avoid a 2 game slide? As tough as it is in this league to sweep teams, if Buehrle takes the loss today, tomorrow doesn't look so bright with Cotts on the mound. Nothing is guaranteed, that is why you play the games. Oh wow, so if that's true then he already wrote off this game before the 1st pitch and is trying to avoid a 2 game slide before we lost anything. Another example of Jerry's "Killer Instinct". How can we go wrong with this disaster running things? I'm just speculating, JM didn't say this. Dave Wills just repeated these same thoughts on the Sox post game show. If Buehrle takes the loss today, there's extra pressure on Cotts tomorrow. Let's hope to get some help from the Rangers and Angels tonight.

  7. Winning series is what it's all about. It's not a guarantee that we would have won today if Buehrle would have gone. If Mark goes today and we loose, that means we would have been looking at Cotts tomorrow. I feel real good knowing Buehrle is going tomorrow now and that Detroit will face 2 of our studs, just like the Yankees did. Sweeping series in this league, let alone the Yankees, is very tough. Grab a clue.
  8. now see there, yes. Sox fans turn on their own too easily in my opinion. If a player is not dogging it (a la, in my opinion, Colon in some games and D'Lo with every breath he took for eaxample) then a slump I will stick with them and wonder why others turn on them. MB was ripped earlier this year and as you point out, PK was and is and why PK is getting all this blasting I have no idea. I don;t understand it. Given my druthers, since it is a long season and no one hoits 400 anymore, if a player is going to ahve a slump, the early part of the season is better than the late part. And it is a team game - everyone slumps - so a player has to give the best that he can and his team mates have to carry him for a while because it happens to everyone and that is why it is a team game. So I certainly agree, the deities fdorgive a player going into a slump because the vultures will be out... First of all, Vince... where exactly was he getting slack he didn't deserve? Did he stink up the joint the first half? Yes. Did anyone s*** on him for his performance since the break? No. You want to sit there on top of the hill and pretend he's been the savior.. then go for it. But don't pretend like you don't know why he's gotten the crap he's gotten this year. Both of those threads.. and nearly every post in them.. was simple poster bashing. That's all it was. No more, no less. I don't think anyone is pretending he is the savior, but I think we can all agree that he would be highly valuable in the stretch run if he continues to hit. There is no doubt he deserved the criticism he got in the first half of the season, and even the second half of last year. But please don't pretend you are unaware of those who still seem to criticize him now that he's turned it around a bit. Maybe some were "poster bashing", but I was simply asking a question as to why some people are relentless on the guy. Haywood.. I wasn't even thinking it was you that was bashing, so don't take it personally. MO.. people say what they want. Who cares. No worries. And if it bothers someone that much.. they need to get up and stretch the leggs And, as I said - right there in black and white, no one is s***ting on him for what he's doing "now". Gothca Steff, nothing personal towards you either. Never is. I have a feeling I know who you might be talking about though as far as the poster bashing. I know my screen name is goofy, but I just like to raise some valid points, enjoy some discussion and make people think outside the box. I know it was in a different thread, but you're right about Cotts today. He sure did piss down his leg, but everyone acted like it was a guaranteed win if Buehrle went today. You never know, that's why you play 'em.

  10. Easy dude - there are 5 football players and 6 female cheerleaders and 1 rapper in the sig and avatar and if you want to make comments about posters whose sigs and avatars are full of males, a long list of people will be there to kick your ass. Tends to happen in sports boards. As HSC aptly pointed out, your self chosen name is an invitation of a sexual nature. You will need to live with the consequences. I hate the cubs boards myself, too, Good, I'm glad to see you're secure enough in your manhood to have pictures of men in your sig. I'd do it too, but i don't know how. But, you didn't have to point out that there are "6 female cheerleaders" in the picture. That alone tells me you are trying to cover something. And threatening someone on a message board to kick their ass is real lame. Let's all relax. No need to be so uptight, we just took the first 2 from the Yankees and looked good in the process. Let's take the series finale and move on to Detroit. go to My Controls and look on the left side of the screen and find the stuff on editing signature and avatar. I did not threaten to kick your ass - please read what was written - in fact I am the board's pacifist - what I said was, if you were going to impugn everyone, there would be a line to do that. What I said was, in analogy, "run the stoplight and you get a ticket." Your attitude is odd. This bulls*** of "you are covering something" and then "lets pull for the Sox" is as passive aggressive as can be. Get along and everyone does. Throw the barbs in and the personal comments and it won't be all fun. The choice is yours. I originally asked, basically, why the backlash against Konerko. Yeah, bad first half to say the least, but if I'm not mistaken, he's got like the 3rd highest average in the team since the All-Star break. God forbid if a player on this team goes into a slump. I know what I read also. No you specifically didn't say you would kick my ass, but that there would be a line of people waiting to do so. I chose the condensed version, I didn't want to type it all out. Sorry to mis-quote you. Look, I just want to fit in. Why the hell did konerko have to make an out last night. 3-4, what was he thinking? Maybe that will help.

  12. Gotcha. Easy Eminem. I'm not the one with pictures of 2 guys in my sig. You won't find me on a cubs board either, can't stand 'em.
  13. And kudos to the meat of the order for driving those guys in. Great team effort the last 2 nights. Makes it a little sweeter getting the win tonight against Wells.
  14. Agreed, let's grab another one tomorrow night. I'm sorry about the earlier rant, but at times it does seem like posters have a personal vendetta against certain players. And please, I am not here to solicit sexual acts, I just think the screen name in itself is kinda funny.
  15. Well, Mr. Bean, she might have been joking this time, but there are countless posts of hers that seem to take shots at the guy. I sure noone is harder on the guy for his poor performance, than he is. And I'm quite sure Steff can answer for herself, but thanks for chiming in. As for my negative attitude, I'm not quite sure where you're coming from. Yes, it's frustrating to see the guy to constantly get bashed on these boards, when, quite frankly, he is doing a decent job of turning around his otherwise poor season.
