  1. Holy fuck. I wouldn’t have supported replacing Eloy but I never foresaw THAT happening.
  2. With such a dominant CF, probably not worth it to replace one of your best hitters and find the game continuing to the bottom of nine.
  3. This is for them what that Pirates loss was for us. So winnable and nyet.
  4. Ok Gio pitched for us. That’s what everybody wanted for years right? The two time Sox MiLBer finally joining us in the bigs? Can we call it a day now? We good?
  5. Yoan underperforming, Edwin and Nomar non-existent. I know Abreu and probably Anderson are over performing right now (not by nearly as much as the others are underdoing it), but this offense would be absurd if all of those were at their usual levels.
  6. This is more stressful than checking my brokerage app while holding weekly options.
  7. He went 4.2 IP, allowed 10 base runners, and threw 100 pitches. Let’s not get carried away.
  8. So I’m not an expert on this topic, but I’m pretty sure this Cease start is the living, breathing embodiment of how a pitcher can have a great ERA and really awful peripherals.
  9. Possibly the scrubbishness combined with the weird gray streak in his 28 y/o beard? Guy looks like he should be working at a mall in Waukegan. In three years, there’s a chance that he will be.
  10. Jake Cave has a sub-.600 OPS? How? Does he never get a hit against anyone else?
  11. I'm a bit insecure about the fact that our excellence this year comes almost entirely from beating up on the Royals, Tigers, and Pirates, and I'm jumping all over the place in regards to who we should want to face in the first round, but...I wonder, how do other teams look at the prospect of playing us in that same round?
  12. I was a senior in college. I wouldn't meet my wife for another three years. My oldest child wouldn't be born for seven, my youngest not for almost a decade. My company, with whom I just hit my eleven year anniversary, didn't know anything about me because I hadn't even applied yet. Neither my own family nor any coworker I've ever had has met Dallas-Kong-Who-Is-Emotionally-Invested-In-Playoff-Baseball. Crazy.
  13. Question about seeding- is it based on standing within the division or overall record? Obviously, we’re at the top, so we’d play the 8th seed. But is the eight seed the worst third place qualifier (currently the Yanks) or the worst overall record (the second place but .500 Astros)?
  14. Thanks. That's awful. Hope he gets it under control and finds some joy in life.
  15. For real. I had to peruse Baseball Reference to bring some of those names back to my memory. Remember Cody Asche? I had legitimately forgotten his tenure with us. Woof. On another note, what the heck ever happened to Brett Lawrie? Wikipedia doesn't even say. He wasn't great, but he also wasn't the sort of guy I'd expect to leave mid-game at age 26 and never play again.
  16. Sure. Like every part of this team, he in his current role is an improvement over previous years. I'm not gonna cry at the thought of him getting ABs during an occasional Madrigal rest day like I would during the days of Alen Hanson or JB Shuck. But that doesn't mean I'm positively giddy for it.
  17. Watching Mendick and Dyson bat probably won’t be fun, but the “Sunday lineup” for this team is still eons beyond previous years. I think we’ll be OK.
  18. Where does the Eloy-Delmon Young stuff come from?
  19. This needs to be bumped. I really want to know if @Santti ended up going to Greece or if that got 2020’ed. My dream next year is to do Paris with just the wife and Bali with wife and kids, assuming this is “over” (ie a vaccine).
  20. Hello there. I never liked the Grandal signing. Why would I? We had an AS catcher last year and we spent more money upgrading that than anything else. Dumb choice.
  21. But his bat flips are great! Totally worth paying him the GDP of Palau!
