  1. Lost in here is the fact that Amaya almost has been given enough at bats to qualify. Just a tremendous job all around.
  2. Using playoff odds in April for why a team is or isn’t a contender is kind of silly. Not to mention it sucks the fun right out of everything. Just use your eyes at this point. The cubs are clearly serious contenders and one of the best teams in baseball right now. It’s not that complicated.
  3. I'll take his posts over repetitive arguments any day.
  4. Surely there wouldn't have been 200 posts roasting Getz for a signing like that.
  5. I support the Twins being bad but they gotta GTFO the top of the tank standings. Also glad to see the Rockies can't pick higher than 10 because I think they're a lock to finish with the worst record in baseball.
  6. Lol. Anything even remotely positive that happens with either of JR’s teams happens despite him, not because of him.
  7. I don’t think anyone is “excited” about rebuilding.
  8. This actually sounds like a question that you’d have the answer to
  9. When something is your life, that typically means you have a passion for it. And when you have a passion for something, that typically means you actively engage in it. Also, he can be making so much more money with an even slightly more proactive approach.
  10. I will never understand making something your life but doing as little as possible with it.
  11. Laugh now, but yall are underestimating the importance of going R L R L in the batting order and the fear it will strike in Alex Cora as he sweats through how to navigate this sox lineup with his bullpen.
  12. Palacios gets to tell his grandkids that he once batted cleanup in a major league game.
  13. I wouldn't say they're clear wins, but once a player has a good season in the majors (which Eloy and Robert both have had) and then regress, I think it starts to become more about injuries and/or the coachability of the specific player rather than a development failure.
  14. I generally agree with this, but I think the terms “hand selected” and “picked” are giving a little too much credit to Jerry’s process. I liken his hiring process to changing channels on tv and then the remote dies, but being too lazy to get up to replace the batteries so you just leave on whatever channel is on.
  15. I mean what he’s saying is probably true. It’s essentially that the players are trying, they’re just not good enough.
  16. I hate that you made me look up Maldonado's stat line from last year to see how many at bats he had (135).
