I wouldn't say they're clear wins, but once a player has a good season in the majors (which Eloy and Robert both have had) and then regress, I think it starts to become more about injuries and/or the coachability of the specific player rather than a development failure.

I generally agree with this, but I think the terms “hand selected” and “picked” are giving a little too much credit to Jerry’s process. I liken his hiring process to changing channels on tv and then the remote dies, but being too lazy to get up to replace the batteries so you just leave on whatever channel is on.
