  1. Ticket sales would be tanking with or without Grifol.
  2. This has probably been mentioned already, but I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason JR wants to ultimately hold onto Grifol is as a big f*** you to the fans for how much criticism the TLR managerial hire and tenure received. This would be an almost impressive level of petty, but I wouldn't put it past Jerry.
  3. Not at all, he was just doing the interview. Plenty of reasons to not care for Schriffen as a broadcaster, but this is kind of a lame thing to just throw out there.
  4. As the Sox continue to Sox, I find myself more and more just rooting for individual players. Would love it for Robert if he ended up on that Philly juggernaut and got more national exposure and success.
  5. ? Sportsguy gonna bust in here like Kool-Aid man and start lecturing you.
  6. Since Preller is such a gunslinger of a GM, I say trade all of Robert Jr, Crochet, Fedde, Pham, DeJong and Kopech to San Diego for Salas, Merrill and Petco Park.
  7. Ahhh, thought it was Crochet tonight. Ok we’re back in business.
  8. I wanna believe in them, but they're totally gonna screw this up and win tonight.
  9. Ohtani's got nothing on this NO ONE guy.
  10. That's just what happens when you catch every single team at the wrong time.
  11. Yes? He is bad at his job and bad for the organization AND the team and organization sucks. One of those problems is easier to address than the other.
  12. I mean he's not exactly being held accountable while being here. Unless you consider making him sit through more games as punishment, in which case, yeah you're probably right.
  13. 2028. Not because I believe in the team, but because I believe baseball is a very weird sport.
  14. Mentioned this in the Schriffen thread, but I finally realized what bothers me the most about his game calling so far.
  15. The homerish thing about Schriffen that bothers me is not his calls. I grew up watching Hawk. It’s fine, whatever. What bothers me is that he seems to barely know or say anything about the opposing team or players. It seems that, to him, every opposing player is just “some guy on the team that’s trying to beat MY team.” No acknowledgment of other stars or anything at all in a larger context than just White Sox baseball. This makes the broadcast extremely one-sided and boring for me. But sure, let’s hear for the 70th time how Sheets is putting in more work in RF.
  16. Also the theme of the 2024 White Sox
  17. Also, if true, the mystery owner sucks just as bad as JR.
  18. I feel like Pham is one of the few where it's not a fake tough guy routine at all. Dude is intense and I think actually wants to fight.
  19. I actually didn’t mind Pham’s reaction. He’s an intense dude, it’s heat of the moment, whatever. But Schriffen’s call felt like some sort of staged pro wrestling announcer outrage thing. I have no idea what slam ball is, but that’s what I imagine 80% of slam ball calls to be like.
  20. I’ve been pretty neutral on Schriffen, because really who cares, but that was all kinds of cringe. I think I actually made this face the entire clip ?
  21. I have all kinds of patience for someone learning on the job, but his lack of ability to read the room is what’s been turning me off about him. Its a very basic skill that has nothing to do with his inexperience with the Sox or baseball as a whole.
