I feel like there would be a lot of "I ain't setting foot in that shithole" type meatball sentiments from some Sox fans, which would affect how they draw.

Local art museums out here catching strays.

I remember that start of his.

Giolito to the Red Sox, 2 years $38.5 million, Y1 opt out

I don’t necessarily disagree, but what’s the alternative then? Completely relying on drafting and developing your own pitchers seems just as foolish, since only a few orgs have shown the ability to do it successfully and consistently. -

Sure sounds like they’re content with fake trying -
Where fans “get to” (aka have to) make their own food.

Pretty much, and then they also get to point to defense or leadership or athleticism because those attributes don't come with a high price tag when it's the only thing the player is bringing to the table.
-
But the thing is, Getz is really really really prioritizing good defense, so I don't think you can just gloss over the fact that Rosario's glove is in question. I'd say that basically makes the Rosario signing a moot point because I don't know that his subpar D even made him a viable candidate in Getz's eyes. BTW this is not an endorsement of the DeJong signing. It's more of trying to understand the logic behind some of the decisions.

‘‘I want to take a different approach, which is more effective. Just keep it a little more intimate and get a chance to look at each other in the eyes and just send that message of how important my message is in our message as an organization.’’ ???

It does if Pedro continues to only call out younger guys while being afraid of veterans.
-
A priority for rebuilding teams should always be giving washed up veterans another chance to prove they can still play
-
So like, who even are the young guys expected to be on the roster that all these clubhouse leaders are supposed to have a positive influence on?

Mlb.com Sox projected lineup and rotation is out
Snopek replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I've always felt his struggles were due to injuries and not at all motivation. I don't really have anything concrete to base that on, and I get why many think otherwise. Either way, it's a relief knowing I only have one more season to blindly defend him. -
This season is going to be a lot of learning what people look like.

Maybe this ends up helping him to be more selective at the plate. -
There's only room for so many superstars.

Orioles Acquire Corbin Burnes for Ortiz/Hall/34th Pick

Just looking at SPs that will be free agents after the season on likely non-contenders, the list is…not great. Wacha is the only one that even sort of stands out, and he has a player option, so I don’t know how much that muddies the waters. -
No? I don’t know what this has to do with the context of my post.

Maybe, but being cynical 100% of the time is exhausting.
