What do you mean by this?

The biggest story around the Sox is how they suck and how it sucks being a fan of them. How are you surprised that that's being talked about so much? It's virtually impossible to "talk about baseball" without it being centered around how much they suck.

I guess I don't even get the point of watching or following the team with that mindset. For me, it's more passive. Chicago sports is about not expecting success rather than actively expecting disappointment.

For a guy that was touted as a great communicator, my god is Pedro awful at communicating with the press and general public. And like it or not, that's part of his job.

The only time you can get a quote from Grifol that has any substance whatsoever is when he’s calling out a rookie.

Problem is they seem to only hold rookies or younger guys accountable.

I wasn't doubting that they mishandled him, I was just looking for more tangible reasons like Balta laid out rather than just that their expectations of him were too high. But yeah, colossal disappointment any way you look at it.

Lol I thought you were gonna say something about his workload or development. But you're just saying they referred to the top prospect as a top prospect?

They'll also say something about how they are changing the culture. The same culture that the manager spent all season saying was not an issue. The same manager that will be returning for another season. Just normal things.
