  1. Jerry’s gotta be proud of this one. Nothing like making this very important announcement after the Cards just finished up a 2-8 road trip
  2. The second part of that tweet is pure gold. That's how you summarize the rebuild in one sentence.
  3. Good guy Jose showing solidarity with his former team by having a terrible year.
  4. As much as I wouldn’t mind seeing this thing go to 10, I do feel that it ends tonight.
  5. I think they’ll manage to screw that up too. As someone else said in another thread, they can’t even lose in a notable way. I feel like they’re gonna start playing .500-ish ball very soon now that they’ve dug a hole they can’t get out of.
  6. Pffft. He just doesn’t wanna play. Buncha posters on here would play through that injury. But seriously, that sounds not great.
  7. It's insane, but consistent with their approach to everything. Just be stars. Just stay healthy. Just put DH's in the outfield and see what happens. Basically put in minimal effort then hope everything magically falls into place. All of their "plans" come off as some wack fan fiction nonsense.
  8. But the clubhouse was s%*# last year too with both of those guys.
  9. At the same time, it would be very White Sox of them to pull within a couple games of .500 and stay there the rest of the year, settling into the familiar mediocrity rather then the attention-grabbing bad that should be the preference at this point.
  10. “Good thing we’re in this division with all these chumps” says the team with the third worst record in baseball.
  11. Come on man. Fans all want the same thing, but we all handle it our own way. All anger should really be directed toward this absolute joke of an organization.
  12. This looks about right to me. Might swap Colas for Robert in the "entire system" scenario.
  13. I think that's very possible. I also think that the organization as a whole is so incompetent with player development that it's possible they actually would end up more successful with another organization. Ultimately, I imagine it's a little from column A and a little from column B. The FO overrated the players and the organization couldn't further develop them, so here we are.
  14. You somehow seem to be forgetting about the Menechino thread, the Fire Hahn thread, the criticism of the training staff/injuries, the overrated core, the lack of ability to develop players, etc. TLR was a huge problem and needed to go, but there was plenty of blame going around. I don’t get where all this “people said TLR was the only problem” stuff is coming from.
  15. Hasn’t that point come a while ago? I don’t think I understand what the risk is with firing him.
  16. Nobody. It’ll be nobody. We know this.
  17. This is not even close to being true but okay
  18. I think a lot of the outrage has to do with coming to terms with the fact that the window of contention ended up being like 1.5 seasons (if we're being generous) and that the future of the org is rather bleak. I'm not sure how that doesn't justify outrage. Also, if the expected outcome of a stretch of games vs contenders is 10-12, I'm not sure that's the sign of a contending team in the first place.
  19. There’s just no way to know this though. For all we know, he’s putting in the work but the players, as you say, are just “too stubborn or stupid to make adjustments.”
  20. The Eloy personal shots on here are pretty fucking obnoxious.
