  1. I understand what you’re saying, but regardless of the injury I’d imagine a couple rehab games to help get his timing back at the plate wouldn’t be the worst idea.
  2. I present Exhibit A: Eloy skipping a rehab stint
  3. I think maybe the Eloy blooper reel kind of set the tone for what terrible outfield defense looks like, so people wanted no part of non outfielders in the outfield after that. Give Burger enough exposure at 3B and I imagine we’ll get the same “No more DH’s at 3B” reactions. Also, I think Burger is a likable guy and easy to root for, so it might be easier for some to overlook his faults. Also also, the opposite for Yoan. Seems like he’s not particularly well liked among the fan base, so his very good defense is taken for granted and we complain about him looking bored or whatever.
  4. And if we think the pitching is a bit suspect now, imagine what happens when they need to get all those extra outs with bad 3B defense on a regular basis.
  5. Just getting in my “Why is Eloy still at cleanup/Move Burger up” before the rush.
  6. Oakland might be historically bad this year. I'm not sure even the Sox can lose a series to them.
  7. Old man yelling statistics at cloud is a new one for me.
  8. How can you possibly know what someone else’s pain threshold is?
  9. Among the other 700 problems, it seems like there might be a lot of overrated talent on the roster?
  10. Part of me wants them to put Burger at 3B for a week just so we can all witness the madness and put an end to that conversation.
  11. I already have Grandal fatigue two weeks into the season.
  12. Grandal often has some of the most uncompetitive at bats you can imagine.
  13. I need to remember to avoid any thread with Moncada in the title. Dear God some of these takes.
  14. The way I see it, both teams have major injury risks, but one of those teams is much better equipped to deal with the injuries than the other. I'd also say there are more guys with the arrow pointing up on the Twins than on the Sox. Now, I don't think the gap between the two teams is so large that the Sox winning the ALC would shock me. But at this point, sure, I have more faith in the Twins having a successful season than the Sox.
  15. I still don't have a read on the Guardians and don't know how sustainable their success is, but I'm willing to buy the Twins. Joe Ryan and Pablo Lopez look like they've made huge strides with legit changes and Maeda hasn't looked all that rusty thus far. Plus, they have Polanco, Kirilloff, Royce Lewis, Kepler and Gallo all coming back. Some of those names are meh, but that's still depth that the Sox can only dream of as they trot Hanser Alberto out there. Sure, there are some if's with the Twins (esp health-wise), but every team has those. Until Buxton, Correa and the rotation actually break down for an extended period of time, they look like the team to beat in the division to me.
  16. Yeah, if we didn't do this whole damn thing already all of last season, I think fans might be willing to give it a little more time. But I think a lot of fans are just drained from last season that it's hard to do the "wait till they get healthy/hot" thing again. Especially when they're experiencing a lot of the same issues they did last year.
  17. Hahn’s just playing 3D chess over here and getting a jump on the trade deadline. Moncada, Eloy, TA, Crochet and Hendriks? Great acquisitions and the sign of a great GM.
  18. Hard to feel like it would matter either way when Hahn and Co would still be the ones making the moves.
  19. Top of the 9th is gonna be over in like 35 seconds.
  20. Once again, here’s the actual context of the parade line: “In terms of feeling like we've accomplished something or [are] feeling satisfied,” Hahn said Thursday at Guaranteed Rate Field, “ask me after the parade.”…“Until that happens, I don't think any of us are really in a position to feel satisfied or feel like we've accomplished anything," Hahn continued. Why do we insist on creating a fake thing to get mad about when there’s an endless supply of actual reasons to be upset?
  21. Bats gonna go silent for the next 6 innings now?
  22. Shocked that hoping for good health didn't work out this time.
  23. They were quick to IL Eloy, so maybe they’ll handle injuries better than last year.
