Leave the outfield as is and make the rest of the seating 12 decks.

Man the energy at Petco. I love playoff crowds.

Similarly, I can make a basketball shot just like Steph Curry and LeBron.

Can you name every player to appear on the 2024 Chicago White Sox?
Snopek replied to DoUEvenShift's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They’d need to sign a basketball to fit all the names, which would be a hell of a thing to own. A basketball signed by the 2024 Chicago White Sox is equal parts hilarious, stupid and amazing. -
Never let reality get in the way of some overly cynical narrative.

This f*cking dude. What an absolute treat.

Your definitions of these words are highly disputable.

I mean it’s your opinion and it’s subjective, so it’s completely disputable by definition. But anyway, even if Benetti was objectively terrible in calling big moments, there are so many other aspects to being a good play by play announcer than that.

Was "a little while back" 2021?

They have Bobby Witt Jr. We have Andrew Vaughn.

I’m all for dancing on the O’s grave, but that’s a silly comparison. That organization is light years ahead of the Sox. They will be competitive for quite a while.

Sure, why not. And if he returns to his 2021-2023 form in the first half, that's a much better trade chip than Benny would be.

Holding out hope for the Cigar Aficionado hit piece. -
I’m just as sick of Vaughn as the rest of y’all but, considering the context, I don’t see the harm in giving him one more chance to realize his potential. It’s going to be yet another season of seeing what you have in guys, so they certainly have the time. He isnt blocking anyone that’s more important to the future. The $6M price tag doesn’t matter since they will not be spending/reallocating that money in a meaningful way anyway.

Each person in the department gets a Texas Instruments graphing calculator, a Baseball Digest magazine, and a kick me sign to go on their back.

I understand the sentiment that there wouldn't be any sort of closure or enlightening responses from JR, but when that's the closest thing we have to even a inkling of accountability for the colossal failure he's created and subjected the fans to, then yeah, I think there's some satisfaction in that.

Lol at this phrasing. Very controversial take here, but yes, I think the billionaire whose laziness and stubbornness is the principal reason the team sucks should indeed have to explain himself to the fans that he continues to take money from.

Very brave of Jerry.

Most of the players aren’t major leaguers and should never have been put in this situation. They were set up to fail.

For all intents and purposes, that one specific person IS the team. And, fair or not, everyone else is guilty by association. They went from a World Series contender to the worst team in baseball history in three years. That is unfathomable. They do not get handed the benefit of the doubt, they have to earn it back. And they have a loooooong way to go.
-
Both things can be true. 1) Sports fans are often stupid, irrational and mean-spirited (myself included) and it can definitely look silly in the grand scheme of things. 2) Due to the emotional connection many of us have with the team, we have every right to be upset. It’s supposed to be a pact between the team and fans. The fans buy in, literally and emotionally, and the team is supposed to hold up their end of the bargain. Instead, it’s a one-way relationship. The fans invest in the team, the team doesn’t give a s%*# about the fans. F*ck em.
