Sun Times says it’s time for the Schrif to move on

Whoa now. Are you trying to tell me TLR 2.0 wasn’t a massive success? -

Out of curiosity, what kind of broadcaster does not suck to you? -

Yeah, must be that. Couldn’t possibly be a reference to someone like Getz, the poster boy of privilege. -

What fun to have both the broadcaster and the team on the same development path of maybe being good by 2029. -

To be fair, there's literally a thread here and many other posts about whether they'll get to 100 losses or not, so I think it is a story worth attention on the broadcast. But, to your point, I do expect the coverage of it to be completely in your face and lacking any awareness or tact. There's a right way to acknowledge that story without being a complete salesperson for the team. -

My favorite part about it is that nicknaming someone christmas because they smile a lot doesn't even make sense. -
It's funny. You have the Sox and Bulls who have bad luck with draft positioning. And then you have the Bears who are gifted high draft picks only to not know how to make them work. Funny, I tell ya. Hilarious. 🫠

Being positive is fine, but there's a way to do it that feels authentic and not like you're being sold a defective product. He's improved since last season, but until he can do this effectively it'll remain a rough broadcast. -
It goes both ways. Below is an annoyingly common type of post here. It’s really not that hard to acknowledge progress without “celebrating.”

Baldwin, eh whatever, but I don't agree at all with Quero's value going down already. He's a rookie catcher at the end of his longest season in professional ball.

To be fair, Beavers made a huge leap in development this season so he has a much better trajectory now than he did then. But yeah, the Cease trade looks more awful by the day.

Getting tired of the "give the ball to a child" meme

From Rosenthal's apology: "I had to continue the interview. We were live, folks, on national television. Couldn't stop." Ken, helping the cameraman up for 3 seconds would have made for much better live television. But sure, continue with your compelling and very important question of how the big moment made you feel as a player or whatever. Side note: Why are height jokes so normalized and accepted in society? It's pretty weird and cruel actually. -
vs Cowboys @ Raiders vs Saints @ Bengals vs Giants vs Browns These are the games I'd say aren't automatic losses. Realistically, I think they win 4 of the above.
-
Okay here’s a question for yall: Who makes the playoffs first, Bears or Sox?
-
I’m willing to give Ben a little more time to shape the run game, but yeah, the lack of offseason activity to address that position was really disappointing.
-
Care to elaborate?
-
I know this can't be true, but it sure feels like the Twins are constantly alternating their seasons between making the playoffs and having a top 5 pick.

I think this needs to be pinned to this thread. Not trying to rain on the parade. His power has been incredible and overall it’s been a very impressive debut, but it could/will get ugly really fast and then we’ll start getting the “bust” comments again. Fortunately he’s getting valuable experience and has time and room for much more growth.
-
Fair enough, and definitely a waste of time. I just hate when this site shows its toxic Twitter-esque side from time to time. We are better than that.
-
Oh hey buddy, how's that post coming where you show how I've spent the past year belittling anyone who felt negative about the team?
-
Yeah, "here's what success looks like" vs "here's how to deal with failure." You'd think the coaches would have the latter covered.
-
Lol I think you have the wrong number because I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. If you wanna throw accusations out, please share where I’ve spent the past year belittling anyone who felt negative about the team.
-
Yeah I don’t think you get to decide that on their behalf. I am definitely not in the glass half full crowd, but this idea that they are just simple and naive comes off as pretty condescending.
-
You absolutely can and should blame them. His injury risk should have been a huge factor in the decision to trade him or hold onto him. It’s the same crap as before. Crossing your fingers that injury prone guys suddenly stay healthy.
