  1. All fans receiving a Tony La Russa sleepyhead whether they want it or not seems to remain popular. There's my Jay Leno-caliber joke for the day.
  2. I don’t think Diekman is as good as he looks now, and I don’t think he’s as bad as he’ll look when he inevitably has a few straight outings where he’s walking every other guy ?‍♂️
  3. For sure. The home/road splits are just odd though. Significantly better hitting team on the road.
  4. Feels strange saying I like their chances of better than a series split vs Texas since it's on the road.
  5. Choosing between Burger's glove or Yoan's bat is some legit pick your poison stuff.
  6. To be fair, a lot of folks on here were saying the same thing about Eloy a little earlier in the season. It's one of those things that seems like it's true, until it's not.
  7. Adding good players to your team is the best way to improve your chances. I don’t know how this is even debatable. Fluke home runs are such memorable moments because they are, well, flukes, and 9 times out of 10 they don’t happen. Good luck should be celebrated, not praised.
  8. If it’s not Abreu and Vaughn, is it cuz Vaughn has more trade value than Eloy?
  9. Welcome to the AL central, where you get to play a lot of games against bad teams and even do well against them from time to time.
  10. Could have stopped after the first sentence.
  11. Are you saying the organizational philosophy of "hope to be good enough" doesn't inspire you?
  12. You can't possibly believe this. The history? Well yeah, of course. The franchise in general? Come the f on.
  13. Also curious if Fire Walk With Me is being made available.
  14. The Sox and Padres are both historically pathetic franchises. I don’t like the Padres, but I’d rather have my team actively making moves to try to win, rather than whatever the Sox are doing.
  15. If it hasn’t happened by now, it’s gonna be an offseason “look at us and our accountability” firing, as other posters have suggested. Which is just lolololol.
  16. The icing on the cake will be the Hahn quote telling us that getting <injured player> back is just as good as any trade acquisition.
  17. “In 2022, at home, the Sox are 26th in OPS at .669, 24th in slugging at .369, 24th in wRC+ at 92, 19th in batting average at .241 and 21st in BABIP at .281. Meanwhile, on the road, the Sox are ninth in OPS at .723, 11th in slugging at .402, sixth in wRC+ at 106, first in batting average at .272 and first in BABIP at .330.” When TLR was asked about the home/road difference: “Man, we have worked that forward, backward, sideways,” La Russa said. “I take the easy way out because I take what makes sense: Let’s wait till the season’s over to see where we are in the last 30-something games, whatever we’ve got at home. Because it doesn’t make sense. We’ve looked at everything, process. But so far, it’s been a mystery, man. It’s crazy.”
  18. No one treads water like the Chicago White Sox #PrayForTheLeague
  19. Leury Garcia batting in a big spot with Jimmy Lambert warming up for the 9th is why this is a .500 team in a nutshell.
  20. Flyouts should be worth half a run for the Sox
