They’re stuck in between. Not good enough to contend, not quite bad enough to retool. Combine that with a stubborn front office and a trash division and here we are, just sort of existing.

Just ain’t happening. We’re stuck with this team and everything we hate about it.

This team is such trash for about 10,000 reasons.

“Upgrades at second base and in right field.” The jokes write themselves.

I expect .500 baseball until I have a reason not to.

I believe Tuesday is the day they finally get over .500 for the first time since May. And there will be much rejoicing. And they will be back to .500 the next day.

Yes, let us wildly celebrate a triumphant series split at home, successfully gaining no ground on a team they need to pass in the standings.

Eh, I can see them winning and pulling people back in for the 900th time, just to set up the 901st letdown.

Welp, time for another one of their triumphant two game winning streaks (followed by a two game losing streak, followed by a two game winning streak, etc, etc). This team is a joy.

No doubt in my mind that they will have enough two game win streaks (lol) leading up to the deadline to convince themselves they should still be buyers, yet never even get above .500.

That almost makes it sound like a luck thing. Make no mistake, they’ve earned being this bad.

I prefer the all star break

It’s the high level version of saving Liam for a save situation that never comes.

If you expect a sense of urgency for a series against a team ahead of them in the standings when it’s only late July, that’s your own fault.

They’re so consistent with their disappointment. How annoying.

Injuries, slowed development, org wants to keep them down longer, part of a trade package. There are plenty of reasons. I'm not saying it's impossible, I just don't think they should be penciled in as part of the plan for next year. If they force the issue, that's a great problem to have.

Yeah, you may wanna temper expectations a bit.

Slow? yes. But most of those 2005 guys were not oaf DH types. Everett and Dye, sure. Thomas barely played that year. Konerko, AJ and Crede were all serviceable or better at their positions that I don't recall preferring to see them DH.

Unfortunately, I think anything not purely sports related is considered politics to some these days. All roads lead to "stick to sports and stop being woke" or something.

Amazing how low the bar is. Just show a pulse for a couple days and your job is safe.

The last time the Sox were over .500 was on May 25 when they were 22-21. The last time they were two games over .500 was on April 20 when they were 6-4.
