Just when I thought I couldn't be more opposed to the ownership and FO, they go do this, and prove that they can always 1-up themselves in that category. Not only is it a heartless slap in the face to the only other group of people who make a ballpark worth going to aside from the players (the workers who keep facilities going), they also have to name it after some guy who has so many accolades already that he probably didn't even care, if he knew about it at all. TLR already has enough things named after him at this point. The only other thing TLR needs named after him going forward is a headstone.

Hey just the FYI better make sure no one goes into detail about what a scumbag POS reinsdorf is otherwise that's scumbag-bashing and you'll be forced to take a vacation from posting.

A Natural Hitter, Mercedes had to learn to hustle

I also think a lot of people are watching Yermin expecting him to fail and some are even hoping he will fail. But I do know one thing, and it's that if I am a pitcher, Yerminator is on a short list of players in the league I least want to face in any important situation. Play him in, he'll hit it over your head. Play him deep, he'll drop something in front of you. He can go up the middle and line to line. He can hit the ball inside off the plate and way off the plate. He can take it off the ground or hit it almost in his eyes. He can muscle a pitcher's pitch for a hit or crush a meatball also when he's right. He can hit just about anything. I always hate ti when our team has to face players like that, and thankfully there aren't that many like him around the league who our guys do have to face. -

The closest thing I've had to a baseball religion lately has been watching the Yerminator hit. His ABs are must-see TV. His power is absolutely not overrated. He's just figuring out his approach / in his own head a little bit / learning the MLB game. He's swung through a lot of meatballs or fouled off a lot of meatballs lately, and he still has a habit of chasing a bad pitch early in the count. This has resulted in him going to his 2-strike approach in almost every AB because he's missing meatballs he should crush for power and also he's still putting himself into 2-strike counts too early. When Yerminator figures it out... mercy! I will also amend this to say that there is a possibility he is always like he is and won't change much. Maybe he's a bit like an exaggerated version of Juan Uribe with so much talent at the plate but he just can't let go of some bad habits. But I don't see that with the Yerminator. I think he's very capable of crushing a lot of these meatballs he has been missing once he makes the mental adjustments. Add a few more 2Bs and HRs to his game in May and suddenly it's no longer a low power month. -
I'm not sure I would read anything into TLR's comments. I do believe he is spiteful, but I also believe he generally oblivious. I do believe he is the type of person who would slip in a little something to take a shot at someone, but then I also believe he could forget what day it is or what he had for breakfast (aside from a breakfast beer). So I don't know. Inconclusive for me.

The dominant win feels nice and is good for the record but the Cardinals are a lesser team and we are supposed to beat them. We should take 2 of 3 or sweep. I want to see this team play the Yankees again. I'm kind of pissed we don't see them until August. I truly believe the Sox and Yankees are the 2 best teams in the AL and I just want to see us whoop on them. That's at the front of my mind. Nice win and everything but next time we see those Yankees at home I want to sweep them. Send a message about what is coming in the ALCS. But yeah let's pad this lead and get the best record in the AL so we have HFA. Twins are dead CLE only pretends. Time to start stomping on the little guys until we face a real challenge again.

This would have been a good night to play Mendick but I guess he isn't good enough to be out there.

Kim is on meth

Twins picked a good year to take a dive on us. In that respect, we should still be able to hang in there and win the division even with all our issues. Thanks, guppies.

I really want to see TA, Yerminator, Moncada, Abreu 1-4. Yerminator would be such a force behind TA with all the leadoff hits TA gets. Vaughn in LF can go 5th. Of course the rest of the lineup would still suck but that top 5 would be awesome. TLR doesn't have the stones to bat Yermin 2nd. That's one of the reasons Hawk fired him. He doesn't have the stones.

1) There's actually a lot to like about a Rodon extension. Mechanics are cleaned up, he's already been through TJ and shoulder surgery and the stuff is already back, lots of MLB experience but not the kind of workload such an experienced SP would normally have due to all the injuries, the org and coaches know all there is to know about him, he's still young, his contract is unlikely to take him well beyond what should be his prime in number of years even if the AAV is pretty high, and he also seems to fit in very well here as a teammate and with Katz. Oh and he's the only good LHSP we have. Even Crochet isn't going to be part of the rotation until 2023 IMO. 2) Hard Carl will ROFLMAO at a QO. We will get a draft pick. For what this guy is doing on the mound, no GM is going to give a fuck about losing a pick to sign this guy. Of course this is assuming he stays healthy and pitches like this for a full season. 3) Reinsdorf isn't going to put up the big money. If Carlos keep s this up, He Gawn. And to the Dodgers prolly just because.

Rick Hahn will speak to media today around 4-5 pm

In a follow up move, Duncan Donuts was promoted from Analytics Czar (which is really just a couch you can sleep on) to bench coach. It looks like he's the heir apparent. -
I'd rather have contact behind TA. IMO: Anderson Yerminator Abreu Grandal Moncada Or Anderson Yerminator Moncada Grandal Abreu Is better
-
They won't. You are correct.
-
Arguably TLR's biggest failure with the whole Yerminator fiasco has been his inability to stop talking about it. Even Evan Marshall does a better job putting out the flames than Tony. If it looks interesting to him he can't leave it alone, unless for example it's a can of O'Douls.

With Collins improvement and surprising game calling ability vs. what he was reported to be, a McCann and Collins tandem is a solid tandem and good value for the money. Also, on offense, Frank'll fix 'em.
-
His age, defense, and contract are better fits for the Sox. But sure continue to evaluate the C position by OPS+.

I've been watching and a lot of these walks look a lot like the old school pitch around. The 7-8-9 behind him isn't exactly intimidating. I am guessing that's why TLR has tried moving him up and putting a hitter behind him who is with a damn to see if he can get a fastball over the plate to swing at. Because Grandal rarely swings at garbage and is a lie average hitter anyway I am not all that surprised by his numbers given the guys behind him.
-
Just want to say I hope Hahn asks the Mets about Grandal for McCann. Mets say no but it doesn't hurt to ask

Not even going to read some garbage out of Boston about how sorry we should be for not hiring their cheater who was banned from the game for a year. You can keep your cheater and think you have some toy we should be envious over. I really hate the idea that the only options were TLR and one of the cheater group of Hinch/Cora/Beltran. If the Sox would ever follow a proper hiring process they would find several qualified candidates outside of that group. Just look at the talent on the team. Fill out the Xs and O's, keep some control over the clubhouse, talk to the media, and just let the players play. Obviously the "championship experience" prerequisite is unnecessary based on the fact that TLR can't even manage a game in April. Also the one title any of us ever saw in our lives came from a guy in his second year who had minimal coaching experience as a third base coach only.
-
The whole thing is a handshake between the dorf and old drinky. They do whatever they want and don't need exact terms for anything. And for all the rest of us, it's none of our business. Contracts are only for people you can fire.
-
That would be just wonderful if TLR stepped down this summer. Unfortunately I am of the opinion that getting TLR out of the Sox manager's office is a lot like extracting a raccoon from an outbuilding. And just asking him to get out and stay away from your playoffs is like just asking a raccoon to do the same. I certainly hope this TLR shit doesn't spread to 2022. But even if it doesn't I still have no confidence in the Sox hiring the appropriate replacement. Obviously the ideal scenario here is that these hamstrung players can win a title with a monkey on their backs and then TLR will be happy to take the credit for it and walk away. Prolly not.

Yeah like the guy who has to weigh Jerry Krause's feelings against whatever Michael Jordan wants to do is somehow going to pick the loyalty yes man guy over the old windbag he calls a dear friend.
-
Some times players like Sergio Romo and Tyler Clippard put up better numbers than a guy like Codi Heuer, Garret Crochet, Michael Kopech, Liam Hendriks, and Aaron Bummer, but when you watch the second group when they are on, you can think "closer" for every single one of them. And the first two no matter what the numbers are, you always think "middle reliever." There is a shitload of talent in the pen. There is a need for Katz to help get this thing together, but there are some legit weapons in that pen who have all had success before or who are experiencing success now. That's why I say if you can't see the talent you must not have eyes. Nobody in that group above is anything close to a lost cause. Players do struggle here and there during a season.

LOL then use him like you use Marshall and Foster then.
