I know they're this way, but it's deserved when the Sox are kicking the ball around and/or getting shut out by the likes of Bruce Chen, but against Ohtani? Seriously, we may never see better stuff against us all year. Yes it's just game 4 of the season but still, this might be the best stuff we see all season.

LuBob has to get to 0-2 first. AAA shit isn't going to get that far. He's supposed to be in MLB right now.

This game thread sucks. Even if Eloy was in LF and TA as SS, nobody is going to hit Ohtani when he is throwing like this. No one. As for Cease, Rome wasn't built in a day. Neither was Naples or even Butte, Montana. He's a work in progress. Even if we get beat tonight, this is the kind of loss you can live with, when you just flat out get beat by a true ace. The first 3 games of shit defense is another story, as is not scoring enough against mid-rotation-at-best SPs. The team has a lot of talent and is still growing. And they'll still get shut down by the top aces in the game. That always happens, even to teams that end up winning 100+ games. Relax. Also re: the depth: so who is going to help the Sox out by giving them all these really good young players like an excellent SS behind TA? Remember we actually had 2, Hahn traded both for Samardzija and the ghost of James Shields, and IIRC took Burdi with the pick from Samardzija. He's also the same guy that gave DK 4 years guaranteed, for example, and I'm a lot more worried about that one that Cease here on April 4th in his first full 162 game season.

Twins/White Sox in similar positions...

I'm not sure why anyone would want to spend big money on Buxton. I can't see how he's worthy of anything more than 2 years guaranteed with vesting options based on PAs. The Twins can win without him anyway. Berrios leaving would really hurt OTOH. -

Hopefully the dorf will be dead and the team will have been sold by the time Gio is ready for FA. We can only pray. -
If Yermin keeps it up, then trades are even more necessary. The logjam of DH types is actually DH, LF, 1B, C, and backup C. That's 4 positions and 5 essential roster spots.

He's been overall a very good bench player, first two games be damned. I'm not sure why he's getting clutch ABs tho when he's clearly struggling. Can't explain that one.
-
Maybe he's letting him sink or swim. I dunno. Some managers are like that. Ozzie was like that. I remember him putting protoypical righty specialist Ehren Wassermann out there for multiple innings against both sides of the plate just to make his point. Maybe TLR is doing something like that. Who knows?
-
Lamb is the only guy who hasn't gotten some run yet. I'm afraid he's going to take ABs away from Vaughn now.

Good Marshall is good enough for that spot. Bad Marshall isn't. But bad anybody against the heart of their order isn't good enough either.
-
DON'T STOP NOW BOYS!! I'm talking to the Sox boys tho And don't give up on this offense yall, not yet
-
Marshall gives up a lot of deep fly balls. Those balls were too deep though

While Eaton has definitely lost a step, where he was positioned, he had no chance at all on that.
-
Ruiz has looked good during his first inning of work late in ST. He's a RHP 97-99 with movement and he's been getting a nasty slider over. The worst guy in the pen has a SU ceiling and there's not a chance in hell he would have made it through waivers.

Remember all of those people who **actually thought** Reid Detmers was better **and** had the best K pitch in the draft??? L O L Yeah they'd take that one back in a heartbeat in a redraft. Problem is Garret never gets anywhere near their position in a redraft.

TA Eaton Abreu Yermin New top 4
-
That's why I said we had so much more talent before. We can literally pull our starters in the 4th and 5th if we want, down by a lot, and pitch a shut out the rest of the game while the offense picks apart the opposition. Like, 2 of our 3 highest ceiling pitchers in our organization are in that pen, and the pen is so good that it would be a top-of-the-league pen even without them.

He's basically the reason we're all alive right now.
