  1. Just throwing this out there. Remember that it is a lot better to move the guy on 2B to 3B than to give up the signs. Win the war even if you have to lose the battle. Especially when against these scummy shitbag cocksucking cheating fuck trashcan bangers. Fuck all of these Asstros guys and their mothers and the horses they rode out out. Don't forget about this. If TLR is sleeping, wake him up and remind him. Out of all of the teams the Sox could lose to, they CAN NOT lose to these scummy cheating shitbag Asstros.
  2. That was wizardry watching that live. It was memories of El Duque in 2005 that made me pine for Joakim Soria with an ERA over 5.00 at the deadline, just because I know how a veteran pitcher who can throw a bunch of different junk over the plate and hit his spots can completely embarrass an overeager offense looking to make something happen. IMO El Duque vs. the Red Sox in 2005 was the greatest IP ever pitched. IMO it is easier to have terrific stuff and throw an immaculate inning than it is to do what he did. Ultimate gray beard stuff there by the Duke.
  3. Jason's big calls compared to Hawk, Caray, Johnny Red Kerr, etc,. are as vanilla and as replacement-level as they get. Sure he's a good PBP guy when he focuses on the game, and he's a caulfield-like savant/infobot, but the big calls are all garbage.
  4. Eloy, Cease, Garland, Stoney, Kasper, etc. some of the best things we've ever had have come from the Cubs.
  5. I wish there was some workaround for the time delay. I would rather listen to just about any sound conceivable than Joe Buck, ARod, or that ESPN chick speak, but the TV delay really is a b****.
  6. It's all mental. At this point I think you need to go Leury at 2B and Engel in RF regardless of whether there is a LHP or RHP on the mound.
  7. If he could just be an average type offensive player and also play a decent 2B with this skills, he could really be a huge factor for the Sox. His range and arm strength over Madrigal is man vs. boy. If only he could just be decent and have some quality ABs and not make so many mistakes in the field...
  8. It's been this way for I think 3 years in a row at least. This is so great though. I mean, the games are so long as it is, and it's such a b**** to follow the league when like 40% of the games are day games, 60% night games, some East Coast night games and others West Coast night games, etc. This format is such a huge breath of fresh air.
  9. That's still scary against the Rays in a dome or HOU. I like Bummer a lot more on a legit IF.
  10. I take Reynaldo over Keuchel right now, no question. Also Ruiz is fine as a 1IP guy but if TLR is going to force that round peg into the square 2IP hole, then I would take Reynaldo over both Keuchel and Ruiz ATM as a our long man. Bottom line, if Kiombrel, Liam & Bummer are gold, we're gold. If not we're totally fucked, no matter how we arrange the pen.
  11. Actually his control has gotten better over time IMO. He is better now than he was when he came back up as far as hanging out around the margins of the strikezone.
  12. That really wasn't a bad pitch. Kudos to Cameron for one, and for 2, it seems like every game played these days is played in a damn bandbox. That's really not a bad pitch and is an ideal example of why organizations look to develop power pitchers and why pitchers always want to throw something that breaks outside of the zone. You just can't give up contact sometimes nowadays.
  13. I vote yes. I think baseball would be awesome if all of the games occurred at the same time, always. Yes I know about different time zones. No, I don't care. Man that would be great. I love Game 162. Wish they would do this all of the time. IMO it would make the season and the games seem shorter if like every game was within 3 innings of the other game. Like now, everyone is in the 6th, 7th, or 8th. I love it, and it's one of the few things outside of the Field of Dreams game which MLB has done that I actually really like.
  14. TA making putting on a clinic on the bases. Nice to know that fundamentally at least 1 guy can do 1 thing right.
  15. If Springer was too rich then I'm not sure what Semien would be.
  16. Innings were eaten Gasoline sprayed wildly The memory burns
  17. He's also older, and the payroll space around him is more full. Look at the Cubs as a close example of what happens when your payroll space is too full and you need to add players. We really need to carry a certain amount of flexibility on a year-to-year basis to absorb all the inevitable unforseeables which will occur.
  18. I knew they'd never finish paying Machado just as I knew they'd never finish paying Hosmer, and probably not Myers either. This is par for the course for the Padres. Genius level all around for Preller. Wonder how much money he'd have to eat to get Patino back in return and that's just one guy they dumped off. I've personally done a lot of internal wondering about whether the Pads in the offseason would be interested in something involving Giolito for Clevinger, Abrams and a SP prospect, if Lucas won't talk seriously about an extension with us. I'd pick the carcass if possible. They'll always be cheapasses who never pay anybody through to the end of a long-term deal. They'll never have the balls to truly compete in that division. BTW even though I hate the Dodgers passionately, does anyone think LAD would burn their farm to the ground the way SD has? I would be shocked if LAD made half of the moves SD has, were they in the same position to do so. Eventually Preller will get fired and he'll have to take a special assistant's job and share 1/3 of a #4 seat with a couple other has-beens because no one trusts him enough to give him the keys to the franchise. JMO.
  19. Nobody ever told us one was the answer. Nobody ever made Mike the 5th starter and lost a division in part because of it.
  20. Wright in Korea Though Wrong in America Still wasn't Marshall
  21. All this team has done is back down all year. Let the Tigers stir up some shit if they want to. Maybe our bunch of underachievers can benefit from a fire lit under somebody's ass prior to the playoffs. Too bad no one will bother throwing at Cesar Hernandez or charging the mound when Kimbrel is on it. Just don't hit Robert.
  22. Phil Rogers has been around since the mesozic era, IIRC he hatched from his egg a few years after TLR hatched from his. Phil Rogers also used to be one of those guys at Baseball America IIRC who told us which prospects we had were good. I will never forget about the "man-child" Juan Silverio. Rogers used to just call up Amway salesman Dave Wilder with his Club Burn stuff and various other scams and ask him what to write, and Rogers would just say whatever Wilder told him to say. Ah, the good old days.... ?
