Clevinger Activated, Navarro and Shaw Called up
South Side Hit Men replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Tommy Lee Jones played Al Stump's distorted version of Ty Cobb in 1994, three years after he portrayed Clay Shaw in 1991. Now that he is 76, he is the proper age to portray Bryan Shaw. -
Will he have to kick Kenny Williams’ ass like Chris Sale for the opportunity? Or is it on Rick Hahn to tussle with Garrett if Kenny retires in October? If the latter, they should fight at SoxFest to give the fans something entertaining in 2024. In any event, the White Sox have already wasted four years of his and Kopech’s development to satisfy Tony La Russia’s bullpen fetishes. Can’t blame him and it makes sense at this point to give it one last shot to salvage to at this point is another completely wasted Rick Hahn first round pick.

All teams would be independent, no team or franchise would own multiple franchises as they do today, consistent with how the minor leagues were operated until Branch Rickey created the Farm System in Saint Louis. -

This is not an accurate assessment of my proposal. What I offered was a round robin intro-league schedule for each of the two leagues, and the league champions compete in a World Series, the same format as 1903 & 1905-1968. The owners created a divisional format in 1969. It is the second best proposal pitting each of the four division winners. Only division winners are eligible. While it’s not my preference, the division playoff format held between 1969-1993 until Jerry and his hand puppet Bud Selig cancelled the 1994 season was acceptable. This format is certainly preferable to the complete garbage system of the past 28 years, now to the point where a fourth place team in a five team division can make the playoffs. It’s pathetic. -

The pathetic MLB owners tried to pull bullshit by ending relegation and creating a Super League. Europeans wouldn't stand for that bullshit. North American owners would never risk relegation, it would never happen, but doesn't mean it shouldn't. Would cure tanking incentives for certain. -

True, my bad. OK with contraction to 14 or expansion to 16. Think the most feasible solution is to have two divisions in each league and four playoff teams. Best of 7 = up to 28 games. Current set up will have an extra week of playoffs, but the regular season is diluted with these unworthy teams in the playoffs. I put asterisks by wild card "World Champions", they couldn't even win a four or five team division. -

All nine White Sox reached tonight, Grandal and Colas the lone two to not reach at least twice. -

The joy of the Premier League and other European leagues is there are no playoffs, and there is relegation. Two 15 team Leagues (14 opponents X 12 round robin) 168 regular season. Zero interleague but All Star Game and World Series. Bottom two teams relegated, top two AAA teams promoted, with same for AAA/AA and AA/A. -

Lynn 100% breast cancer, and the trade to the Dodgers was a double mastectomy for the clubhouse. -

Tim Anderson is the greatest player over the past decade not named Jose Abreu. End of post. Period. -
Hahn didn’t have a fucking third starter on his piece of s%*# team. Didn’t even have a second starter with piece of s%*# finger pointing Keuchel crapping his pants, the worthless Saltine unable to get through the fourth inning. No manager is getting through the third game because Jerry Reinsdorf is a pathetic piece of s%*#, and his crony GM is a pathetic piece of s%*#.

There is help in the event you and or your children are victims of Domestic Violence of Clevinger or others in the City of Chicago. https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/fss/provdrs/dom_violence/supp_info.html Please trade or DFA Clevinger Rick Hahn, I’m ok with your extension and continued Sox futility in the event you prioritize Women and Children over on field success. -
2023 White Sox Salary / Transaction Tracker
South Side Hit Men replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Plus a guy who takes the innings Kopech isn’t able to pitch as he’s never cone close to 30 starts, plus injuries to the other four. Teams need 6-7 credible pitchers to get through most seasons. The Sox only had 2 in 2020, so 2021-2023 were the three years they could claim having six starters after counting for in season pick ups like Touki and Cueto the past few years. Hopefully they can find more waiver wire magic this year. -
When a finger pointing whiner who performs poorly at work and on behalf of the team is gone, the rest of the workers / work team are relieved. Lynn has a negative 1.2 bWAR, a 6.47 ERA and has been a negative WAR player overall starting with his crapping the bed in Houston to start the 2021 playoffs. Also, the owner and FO have been children this entire time. People, be it potential management hires or free agents from the outside look at this shitshow and say hard pass. This is why the only FAs they get are players with literally zero other MLB options, and why solid managerial candidates like Joe Espada say thanks but no thanks, and will stick out their bench coaching gig rather than go through what a poor Pedro Grigio is going through with Jerry, Hahn and what they “built” over the past decade.
-
Jerry will likely finish under .500, even if he is alive and owner in the 2030s or 2040s. Things will only get worse as the longer he stays, the less likely anyone competent will come in the FO, and the further the Sox will likely fall back from modern baseball analytics and performance development.
-
He continuously showed up players, including his final appearance with Benintendi, perhaps others. He showed zero accountability between his performances and his playing shape. Admitted to only being motivated because he was pissed someone bunted and his fat ass had to fetch the ball in Anaheim. Can’t speak for the entire team, but would wager many were happy after he and Keuchel left. These are the only two with widely reported issues and blowups pouting yelling and bitching at others, when it was primarily they who sucked ass, with Keuchel the worst of the two, with multiple accounts of him throwing teammates and manager under the bus. Clevinger is the only other player I dislike. Have to go back to David Wells to find the only other Sox player I did not like since 1975.
-
His goal is to field 3rd place (used to be 2nd before the expanded playoff garbage) teams, waiving carrots and hoping to find rubes to believe his teams lies that they are trying to field competitive teams. Charlie Comiskey built multiple World Series teams. Bill Veeck managed multiple World Series teams with two moribund teams, here within six months of his arrival. Both had the desire to build winners and draw fans. Jerry hates White Sox fans, hates most players on his teams, hates his fellow owners, chooses crony hires and criminals over competent decent human beings. When he goes, it will take a few years for his stench to blow away, just like the Chicago Stockyards after they closed.
-
Shipping Lynn out was a breath of fresh air yesterday for the entire team, and they responded with a 3-0 shutout. The team can come together and play for each other now that finger pointing selfish trash is out of the dugout. Speaking of which not sure any team on the planet wants anything to do with Clevinger, but hopefully he will pitch well tonight and some desperate team will want him, so we can be proud of supporting all the players on the team.

That's a White Sox (Who Needs MLB Pitchers?) Winner!
South Side Hit Men replied to Timmy U's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What Sox have done: Buy High (Grandal, Keuchel, Lynn, etc.) and Sell Low. What Sox should do: Sell High and Buy Low. Can't see Burger's value being higher than this moment just before the deadline, or him being a viable player the next time the Sox have a shot at a competitive team (2026-2027, with 2025 possibly being like 2019). -

As was the case the past decade, if the deals work out they were Hahn's, and if they don't they were Kenny's.
