  1. f*** you Cubs you pathetic pieces of s%*#. Beat these motherfuckers, pound them like a drum. Chase this fucking Cubs trade piece in the first. Let's Do This!!!
  2. Looks like the Cubs made a change at Catcher, I believe the other eight are the same,
  3. Tim has 15 hits in 41 ABs plus 3 walks since the All Star Break. Glad to see he appears finally healthy and hopefully can continue to have a great second half. fWAR Post ASB 0.4 Anderson 0.3 Jimenez, Robert Jr. 0.2 Benintendi 0.1 Andrus, Grandal
  4. I strongly believe one or both of Tim and Yoan will have good to excellent seasons next year playing for their respective upcoming FA contracts. It could be their last good year, and I'm not advocating to extend either, but the Sox will get a solid haul next July is the best case scenario.
  5. He's a real live wire. Was thinking of this incident. Lance still listed as the starter despite the rumors.
  6. 100 + will have a bigger impact in terms of the non Reinsdorf paid media calling for his head, but it comes down to Jerry's preference to retain FO guys he likes over FO guys who can perform that he may not necessarily like as much. Hopefully the Sox will take advantage of these two months to allow younger players reasonably ready to play and assess what they have in house. Guys like Andrus, Frazer, Grandal who aren't moved at the deadline should see reduced playing time or even DFA if there is adequate coverage for the remaining two months (not the case currently at catcher without a veteran plug in claimed or received).
  7. The angst comes from the fact this could be a persistent and possibly career ending injury if he can't recover and be effective, and the Sox' recent track record with assessing treating in season injuries. It's not the Eloy has a mosquito bite, he's sitting out 26 games to recover across three different minor league facilities to find his favorite one and keep his rate stats high type injury.
  8. As long as Lance keeps his shirt and pants on, we will survive anything that happens.
  9. Sad that the got a sellout yesterday for these farcical interleague games. Thinking Lance Lynn is here right now: https://geneandgeorgetti.com/
  10. Just said what I said about a second opinion because Yoan stated he feels better but he’s not at 100%. Why is he out there now? Will it get better with more rest, does playing not exacerbate the issue (seemed to get worse in May before they finally pulled the plug)? Has a quality independent doctor assessed the situation on Yoan’s behalf? Doesn’t sound like we will get any of these answered based on limited reporting around the White Sox and what has been disclosed to date. The Sox can pound sand, but just hope Yoan gets the best advice.
  11. IMO it's always been poor roster management including depth. All players undergo injuries, most have at least competent fill ins who can field a position. the Sox repeatedly for years threw DHs/1B to cover everything but catcher. Same with lack of rotation depth. Bullpen is the only place Hahn plans for, and like everything he over spends to do so.
  12. Your team is going nowhere, Burger missed much of his career with significant injuries. Why not let him concentrate on hitting his first full MLB season. He has been struggling since he was tasked to play everyday for the first time and after pitchers found a successful way to attack him. If this is a thing that makes sense longterm, let him work on it the entire offseason and Spring Training to put Jake in the best chance to succeed in 2024. Jake Burger 2017 Games Played 51 (Minors) 2018-2020 Games Played 0 2021 (82 AAA + 15 Sox) 2022 (39 AAA + 51 Sox) 2023 (5 AAA + 83 Sox) In the meantime trade a few of your current six DHs (Burger, Grandal, Eloy, Perez, Sheets, Vaughn) on the 40 man roster, and stop hoarding more.
  13. Will Jerry outlive a fourth or even a fifth generation of the Wirtz family January 29, 1981 - A Day That Will Live in Infamy - Jerry Reinsdorf leads group purchase of the Chicago White Sox Arthur Wirtz dies July 21, 1983. Son Dollar Bill Wirtz takes over the Chicago NHL team. Bill Wirtz dies September 26, 2007. Son Rocky Wirtz takes over the Chicago NHL team. Rocky Wirtz dies July 25, 2023. Son Danny Wirtz takes over the Chicago NHL team.
  14. Moncada should have gotten a second and or third opinion to determine whether back surgery is a preferable option. If he had it before or has it now, and recovers, he can have a good year for his FA contract. I wouldn't trust the Sox with my health. Hell, I might not trust them with my next Churros.
  15. The last game the Sox were 20 games under .500 https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHA/CHA201909240.shtml September 24, 2019: Cleveland 11 Chicago 0 Win: Mike "Scumbag" Clevinger (13-3) 7 Innings 0 Runs Loss: Carson Fulmer (1-2) 1 Inning 4 ER If the Sox lose tomorrow, they will reach the nadir of the 2019 season.
  16. 1st: Robert Jr. strikes out swinging. 2nd: Moncada strikes out swinging. 4th: Robert Jr. strikes out swinging. 6th: Colas strikes out swinging. 7th: Burger strikes out swinging. 8th: Anderson strikes out looking. 9th: Moncada strikes out swinging. 9th: Vaughn strikes out looking. 9th: Grandal strikes out looking. Insult to injury, this is the first game in Chicago Cubs history with 4 + HRs and 5 + SBs. Trade Grandal, Fire Rick Hahn.
  17. Would love this team on August 2nd 2B Remillard SS Anderson CF Robert Jr. 3B Moncada 1B Vaughn DH Perez RF Colas LF Haseley C Zavala Bench: Waiver guys, trade reserves. Rotation: 1. Cease 2. 18. Colorado will pass the Sox tonight if they hold their 3 run lead in Washington (currently delayed).
