    I’d wait until Pedro is gone early to mid season before calling up any prospects who have no MLB service time. Don’t want Pedro adversely impacting any rookies with his douchebaggery. Want them to experience as normal/good an MLB experience as is possible with the White Sox. Rather they muddle through with what Getz acquired and pull waived guys or sign Boyd, Cueto, Greinke, Hill, Lorenzen, Syndergaard. Don’t give a s%*# about performance, just guys who can eat innings and possibly flip.

    Per FanGraphs, Crochet has 3.027 years of MLB service time, Kopech 4.041. Both will remain arbitration eligible from this point forward until they reach 6 years of service time, and both players have 3 years of minor league options available. Once a player reaches 5.0 years of MLB service time, they must consent to being optioned.

    Two updates. 1. J. D. Davis signed with Oakland yesterday for $2.5M, with an additional $1.0M available in incentives. Coupled with the $1.1M he is due from San Francisco, his net $3.6M is $3.3M, or nearly half, less than his $6.9M arbitration award. No word on a grievance filing to reclaim this difference. 2. Three additional players have signed since the March 9 update: Michael A. Taylor for $4M with Pittsburgh Adam Duvall for $3M with Atlanta Domingo German signed a minor league deal with Pittsburgh. He will earn $1.25M if he makes the Pirates roster, which kicks in a $2.5M 2025 Club Option. Additional Performance incentives are available in both seasons.     I found Baseball Prospectus solid in terms of Rotisserie projections over the years beyond the validity of PECOTA, because their staff does a solid job projecting playing time and keeping up with changes. Was traded for asshole Josh Donaldson when this girl cried.     I don't like the idea of anyone in the system under 24 playing for this tanking team, especially under this manager. Let them start the year 10-40, as they were designed to do. Montoyo can manage the rest of the season to save Jerry money. Bring in a quality manager in 2025 with the core coming through with a legitimately run clubhouse led by a competent manager.

Baseball Cube goes back to 1988. https://www.thebaseballcube.com/page.asp?PT=payroll_year&ID=1988 For other sources, I found the Sox may not have been last in 1987 payroll, so I will only claim the last three years in Comiskey as being in dead last from now on. Not sure if that mark will ever be broached again in Jerry's tenure.     Over 100 people voted, with B getting slightly over 50%, so the people have spoken and generally are optimistic regarding the trade. Just over 80% hit B or C, both being fair at this stage as we will need time to see how this plays out, plus the outsized expectations of return as Getz held out the past few months for very highly rated prospects. Think the overall discussion regarding the trade since it happened both here and in the OG thread was relatively reasonable and productive.

    JR is calling the shots. He has never cared much if at all in terms of prospects acquired, drafted or signed. All he cares about is a net $7.2M drop in payroll. I thought there was a chance he would dump Benintendi, Eloy and or Moncada in a Cease trade for less prospect return if he could drop payroll under $100M, I don't suspect payroll will be above $100M after this season until he passes or we are in the early to mid 2030s and he gets a free or mostly free stadium somewhere. The Sox were literally dead last in payroll the final four seasons at Comiskey Park. and below average the first two years at the new stadium despite record attendance.

    Pillar is the better defensive OF, IMO. Fine with both getting at bats if they will be in the team, but don’t want much of Fletcher at DH this season.
