  1. Timeline February 2020 Tony was arrested and went to jail for his second publicly known DUI. Feb-Summer 2020: Tony called BFF Jerry to give him a job, knowing the Angels would shitcan him once his second DUI arrest was made public. Summer 2020: Jerry decided to fire Ricky no matter what, sometime in the Summer. Summer 2020: Jerry unleashed his hack broadcasters to b**** about Ricky Renteria 24/7 through season end. October 13, 2020 Hahn announced Ricky did not "meet expectations" despite posting their best record in a decade and counting, and was fired. October 15, 2020: Bob Nightengale announces the White Sox Managerial Job is Tony La Russa's job to lose. October 29, 2020: Hahn announced Tony La Russa as the next White Sox manager. White Sox press release features AJ Hinch's signature.
  2. Heard in this interview: BN: “I was joking they should give Tony La Russa another plaque in Cooperstown, he’s the only person who has won with this team.” (Editors Note: Ricky Renteria had their highest win percentage under Hahn, also had their best chance of advancing). Mully: “Bruce Bochy (Texas’ manager) was interested in the job, the White Sox were not interested in him.” (Editors Note: Yes, because Jerry always sticks with the cheapest talent, with BFF DUI Guy the exception.) BN: “When you talk to other scouts (about Tim Anderson), they say get him out of Chicago, get him to a place that’s a contender, like the Dodgers or someplace else, and you would see a different ballplayer. And you saw that in the WBC, where he was spectacular…. All the losing seems to bring guys down. Scouts also think Lance Lynn is another one who would benefit playing for a competitive team and leave this atmosphere.” Cell Jerry Cell.
  3. Regardless of injury status, Liam Hendriks will not be made available this trade deadline reports Bob Nightingale. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2023/06/11/ex-as-matt-olson-marcus-semien-lament-what-it-once-was-oakland/70309786007/
  4. The Oakland A's now have a six game win streak, fielding a AAA team, beating Tampa Bay (48-20) tonight, sweeping the former first place Brewers in Milwaukee (34-29) last weekend, and winning their final two in Pittsburgh (32-27). The Sox have twelve wins against teams with a winning record after 67 games. Fire Rick Hahn. April (5): 2 at Houston (2-1); 8 at Pittsburgh (5-2); 10 at Minnesota (6-3); 15 vs. Baltimore (8-6); 30 vs. Tampa Bay (23-5). May (4): 2 vs. Minnesota (17-12); 3 vs. Minnesota (17-13); 13 vs. Houston (20-18); 31 vs. Los Angeles A. L. (29-26). June (3): 6 at New York A. L. (36-25); 8 at New York A. L. (36-26); 9 vs. Miami (35-28).
  5. Looks like there may be a second opinion involved, or a single one was postponed until tomorrow. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/white-soxs-liam-hendriks-evaluation-coming-tuesday/
  6. Bruce Levine - Employed Rick Hahn - Employed Gordon Beckham - Employed James Fegan - Unemployed And I think to myself, what a fucked up world.
  7. To be far, Jerry did spend competitively for several years after the World Series (5th, 5th, 5th, 11th, 9th, 7th, 12th) with the large upturn in revenue (tickets, concessions, parking, TV advertisements). Kenny did a decent job the first few years, and then it bottomed out when they couldn't draft and develop players, and nobody was buying Kenny's shitty prospects anymore. They dropped to mid pack in the Hahn faux trying years (11th, 23rd, 15th, 16th), then tanked (23rd, 29th, 26th, 17th) before bringing in Tony and going up to mid pack (15th, 7th, 13th). They have few prospects over the next few years, so beyond significant improvements in scouting and player development, and dumping what you have for solid future prospects, the future looks bleak until Jerry is gone, and a new owner can bring in a front office capable of a rebuild and sustained success. Sox fans will support a solid team and effort. There has only been one team since 2008 that has fit the bill.
  8. Nice thoughtful response. It's been 40 years since me or my family were newspaper buyers (Leader for our local neighborhood, Chicago Daily News and then when it shuttered the Sun-Times until Murdoch bought it). The Chicago Reader has been the lone local paper the past 40 years. There used to be thoughtful investigation speaking truth to power, and quality journalism and news pieces via the City News Bureau. Now any "news outlet" is primarily politics, corporate and political press release regurgitation, and fluff. You can still find good writing, but it's all independent journalists at this stage.
  9. The Athletic beat reporter for the Cubs remains employed. f*** Jerry. f*** Boyer. f*** Hahn.
  10. They should be 13-15 range, where the other shitty division leaders reside (Milwaukee and Pittsburgh). Milwaukee was swept by the A’s, Pittsburgh in first by one. Honestly the Top 8 teams are the only ones legitimately good. The other 22 are mediocre or horseshit.
  11. Yes, they are axing other sports as well including the NHL’s biggest team. Who the hell wants to subscribe to an ESPN version of sports coverage. Seems like they are keeping some team writers with owners who give a s%*# and field teams people are interested in following. Sucks that Jerry’s greed and avarice shrunk our fan base to the point we are disposable in the eyes of The Athletic.
  12. Well the horseshit owners of MLB don’t give a s%*# about the game. MLB used to be a big deal. 20-30% watched the World Series. Now just 3% watch the quest for what their drunk ass clown commissioner deems a piece of metal.
  13. He was the best Sox reporter I recall over a half century. Grateful I had a subscription to follow in the previous season. The New York Times owns the platform. If you are a subscriber, let your feelings be known.
  14. What's laughable is your numerous posts chiming on on a days old conversation Lip and I have stated our respective opinions and moved on. Physician, heal thyself.
  15. Just addressing the weak and inaccurate posts, and constant pissing on the White Sox within victory threads. You are the one dictating who can post what and attacking other posters, bitching about a days old conversation settled amicably that had noting to do with you. Perhaps heed your own advice.
  16. The Oakland A's, a team intentionally trying to lose, are currently in a five game winning streak. They will eclipse the White Sox' longest 2023 win streak if they beat Tampa Bay at home tomorrow. Fire Rick Hahn.
  17. Looks like a bad Summer in store on both sides of town, as both Chicago teams are now 9 games under .500. 2014 was the last season both teams finished under .500, both with a 73-89 .451 record. 1906 and 2008 were the only two seasons both Chicago teams finished their respective regular seasons in First Place. 1906 World Series: Chicago White Sox (93-58 .616) 4 over Chicago Cubs (116-36 .763) 2 2008 ALDS: Tampa Bay (97-65 .599) 3 over White Sox (89-74 .546) 1 NLDS: Los Angeles (84-78 .519) 3 over Cubs (97-64 .602) 0 Chicago Baseball 21 Futility Seasons: 2014: White Sox 73-89 .451; Cubs 73-89 .451 2013: Cubs 66-96 .407; White Sox 63-99 .389 2011: White Sox 79-83 .488; Cubs 71-91 .438 1999: White Sox 75-86 .466; Cubs 67-95 .414 1997: White Sox 80-81 .497; Cubs 68-94 .420 1988: Cubs 77-85 .475; White Sox 71-90 .441 1987: White Sox 77-85 .475; Cubs 76-85 .472 1986: White Sox 72-90 .444; Cubs 70-90 .438 1980: White Sox 70-90 .438; Cubs 64-98 .395 1979: Cubs 80-82 .494; White Sox 73-87 .456 1978: Cubs 79-83 .488; White Sox 71-90 .441 1976: Cubs 75-87 .463; White Sox 64-97 .398 1975: White Sox 75-86 .466; Cubs 75-87 .463 1973: Cubs 77-84 .478; White Sox 77-85 .475 1950: Cubs 64-89 .418; White Sox 60-94 .390 1949: White Sox 63-91 .409; Cubs 61-93 .396 1948: Cubs 64-90 .416; White Sox 51-101 .336 1947: White Sox 70-84 .455; Cubs 69-85 .448 1944: Cubs 75-79 .487; White Sox 71-83 .461 1942: White Sox 66-82 .446; Cubs 68-86 .442 1921: Cubs 64-89 .418; White Sox 62-92 .403 Seasons a Chicago Team finished with the worst record across The MLB: 2000: Cubs (tied with Philadelphia) 65-97 .401 1970: White Sox 56-106 .346 1966: Cubs 59-103 .364 1948: White Sox 51-101 .336 1931: White Sox 56-97 .366
  18. Don't agree with the hot takes regarding "guarding the line". There were two outs, a single gives up a lead, an out ends the game. If there were less than two outs, I'd be with folks, because you don't want to give up a big inning. After 2 outs, you just want to end the inning.
  19. Rick Hahn's upcoming Summer parade schedule: June 25 - Gay Pride (Broadway / Halsted) August 5 - India Independence Day (Devon) August 12 - Bud Billiken (Martin Luther King Jr) August 13 - Pakistan Independence Day (Devon) August 18 - Ecuadorian Parade (Montrose) September 9 - Von Steuben German Day Parade (Lincoln) September 9 - Mexican Independence Day Parade (19th Street) September 16 - Mexican Independence Day Parade (26th Street) September 17 - Mexican Patriotic Parade (Commercial Ave) September - Guatemalan Independence Parade (Montrose)
  20. Yes, there are examples in and outside of baseball even more egregious than a lock Top 10 all time worst Jerry Reinsdorf. Would say John Fischer, James Dolan, Terry Pegula and Rocky Wirtz are in the current four scummiest owners. Today: MLB: Peter Angelos, Bob Castellini, John Fischer, Jerry Reinsdorf, John Stanton. NBA: James Dolan, Dan Gilbert NFL: Mike Bidwell, Mike Brown, Shelia Ford Hamp, Jimmy Haslam, Woody Johnson, McCaskey Family, Terry Pegula NHL: Terry Pegula, Rocky Wirtz Yesterday MLB: Jeff Loria, Marge Schott, Bud Selig, Wilpon Family NBA: Robert Sarver, Ted Stepien, Donald Sterling NFL: Al Davis, Bob Irsay, Art Modell, Jerry Richardson, Dan Snyder NHL: Harold Ballard, Bill Wirtz.
  21. They planned for this with the ten years of deferred payments. Jerry is like “If I die, someone else pays.” Same with the backloaded Benintendi deals which handcuff a future FO. If I’m Jerry, I’d command Hahn to throw in what needs to go to the Dodgers to have them eat Benintendi, Moncada, Jimenez deals in their entirety. Give Hahn a $50M-$60M annual player budget, collect MLB $100M + TV and Welfare checks every year and pocket the difference. There is absolutely zero difference in on field results, whether Rick Hahn is tanking or trying. Give a new owner and FO a clean slate to build a legitimate MLB franchise for the first time since Larry Himes was shitcanned for the first of three Jerry Lackeys.
  22. Fell asleep early in the game and just woke up now and watched the highlights. My eyes hurt with those fucking 1983 uniforms. Bullpen looks deflated after losing Liam the past two days. Elvis is worse than Seby batting. I don’t see why the Sox not sit Moncada vs. LH starters, Burger playing really helps. That is if an IL stint can’t cure Yoan’s back issues. Im sitting out the Dodgers series between scumbag Stan Kasten and his repulsive bigotry, with a Clevinger start mixed in. I am happy for Kim Ng. Miami has really improved after the Yankees braintrust of Mattingly and Jeter were flushed down the toilet. Should give hope to Sox fans the same can happen here once Jerry’s in a box and the FO is fumigated. Miami: $92M (23rd) 37-29 White Sox: $181M (13th) 29-38
