  1. I'd platoon Burger with Moncada at 3B vs. LHP until Moncada can show life against LH relievers and when it appears he is actually healthy. Grandal can DH with Eloy dead again and Sheets unplayable vs. LHP.
  2. Most people who read my posts know I am critical when warranted. Most also enjoy celebrating when the occasion arises. Again, most of your drivel are points against topics I did not raise in my posts, and are not Germaine about my posts or the posts I addressed. Best to utilize the ignore function for the first time since I ignored a Mod after I first joined.

  4. Carlos’ projections are for 111 Games played, so ZIPS more relevant for established players, less or not relevant beyond theoretical contributions for AAA prospects or year long reserve players. Smart teams don’t burn money on the bullpen. I believe the Sox are top 3 this year in bullpen spending, including DFA Diekman.
  5. The White Sox are 125 games under .500 during the Hahn Era, which will continue in some capacity as long as Jerry does. The White Sox are in danger of dropping below .500 (currently 94 games over .500) if Jerry lives into the 2030s. Cell Jerry Cell!!! 6. For Colas, the power at his age is not as important as the pitch recognition and having quality ML at bats. Can he make the adjustments to ML pitching and lay off the down and away pitches that he flailed at and struck out constantly? Then, can he adjust again when pitchers change their approach again? Also, Colas should be a much better fielder than what he showed in April. If he can have a .700 OPS with average defense the final four months, and improve his walk and K rates, this would be a big help to the team and his development. Colas needs to play everyday vs. RHS if he is promoted, with selective games vs. LHS.
  7. Yep. Heck of a job Hahny. Actual vs. Expected (40% (65/162 through Friday) of "3 Year Projections 2023 ZIPS Projection"): (fWAR first; ZIPS Projections listed second). 8. The Sox actually have a losing record when Eloy plays and a winning record when he does not during his career. The Sox winning percentage is 84 points higher without Eloy in 2023, and 31 points higher throughout his time with the White Sox. #DefenseMatters White Sox Results When Eloy Plays: .492 175-181 2019: .426 52-70 2020: .618 34-21 2021: .564 31-24 2022: .512 43-41 2023: .400 14-21 Postseason: .200 1-4 (Game 3 2020 & All Four Games in 2021) White Sox Results When Eloy Does Not Play: .523 137-125 2019: .513 20-19 (72-89) 2020: .200 1-4 (35-25) 2021: .579 62-45 (93-69) 2022: .487 38-40 (81-81) 2023: .484 15-16 (29-37) Postseason: .500 1-1 (2020 Games 1 & 2)
  9. Both of the posts I addressed in this thread were ludicrous. I pointed out he went 2 for 5 and added Grifol's quote about Tim's outstanding defensive play. My post is accurate. First of all, Tim was credited with zero errors last night. The entire team had a nine game errorless streak through last night. Your post has more errors than Tim or the entire team from May 30th through this walk-off winner game. My other point is winning game threads should be a positive posting experience. Recapping the joy of watching or listening to a White Sox victory. That is why most of us are here. Here is a list of your entire first win thread posts for their fun 6-1 stretch, including a series win in New York: 6/9 White Sox 2 Miami 1: "Anytime the offense wants to show up and make things easier for the pitchers is fine by me." 6/8 White Sox 6 New York A. L. 5: Did not post. 6/7 White Sox 3 New York A. L. 2: "Offense is still horrible. Giving the pitching staff little to no room for error." 6/4 White Sox 6 Detroit 2: "They have some momentum going into New York. We'll see what happens, even with all their injuries the Yankees are still damn good. " 6/3 White Sox 2 Detroit 1: "This offense is terrible, just plain brutal." 6/2 White Sox 3 Detroit 0: "You can in the sense that they were held hitless by a rookie pitcher making his big league debut. Who wasn't lightening up the minor leagues." The 6/4 game was the one where you had a semblance of positive comments in a win celebration thread. This is what I am getting at. Most Sox fans like to celebrate and post in a victory / win thread their enjoyment of the White Sox victory they just watched, listened to or followed online. Most here were appreciative of their efforts and genuinely happy. Also, I try to celebrate the careers of White Sox who played well throughout their careers. Rather than hate and trash their best players, if the only time you enjoy the all time greats in White Sox history or reminiscing abut something that happened decades, a half century or further back, than it's not a rewarding fan experience. 10. Tim fucked up, but Joe Kelly's four baserunners and a lack of offense beyond Vaughn's home run cost them the game.
  11. These takes are sad, though consistent with your MO over the decades here and WSI. Tim has played well the past month after recovering from injury, and well to excellent throughout his White Sox career.
  12. Sox are in a pickle tomorrow, because Eloy is still dead and they won't IL him, and Sheets cannot play because .375 OPS vs. LHP. Probably wise to sit Moncada to rest so he can play all three in LA, and because he doesn't look healthy batting RH. Perhaps he can be inserted late for defense or to hit vs. RH if the game is close. 13. Not sure about Grandal catching Kopech after a night game, or Romy off again, but the rest looks OK.
  14. Grandal racked up a bunch of walks in 2021 with everyone pitching around him at the bottom half of the order. 6-8 suit Yasmani and Sevy well, can get o at times and hopefully get knocked home by Romy or top of the order. Liam solidifies the bullpen. Eloy out helps with the defense, as Frazier will start more and there are no qualms pulling Sheets after 6-7 for a replacement. Not sure if Colas will be ready this or next season, but an OF of Robert, Colas and Benintendi can be decent overall hitting, above average defensively. Perhaps Andrew will regain some power a year after his surgery.
  15. $67M Roe v. Wade passed in 1973, so too late for Rick Hahn (1971).
  16. It was fashionable to trash Kim Ng here based on the Marlins record, but the Yankees D Bags Jeter and Mattingly played a big role in their limitations. They are playing well in a competitive division with a limited payroll. Kim got max return for Lopez, far better than a part time player like Eloy. I continue to root for them, and would be happy if Kim took over for Kenny upon completion of his contract, with a real GM replacing the trash the Sox have now.
  17. Why is Sheets even in the equation? Vaughn is in his age 25 season, like Burger can start well against all pitching, and is outperforming Sheets at every component of the slash line. If Vaughn and Burger are healthy, they should be playing regularly. Vaughn .247/.332/.423 .755 OPS Sheets .237/.311/.412 .723 OPS - Platooning
  18. There would still be two pennants. Four team Divisions are ludicrous if your also including “wild cards”. If you can’t beat out three other teams during an 162 game season, you sure as hell shouldn’t be crowned “World Champion” for winning a farcical three week playoff scheme. The whole scheme is to allow teams to not compete. If it were about the sanctity of competition, there would be four divisions housing 7-8 teams, and the four Division winners would play in the LCS to determine the WS. Not this 12-14-16 team playoff bullshit.
