  1. Loved Cease performance today. Liam sucked it up to get out of two jams, solid stones there. Sloppy baserunning and the fact that Hard Rock Casino is the headline sponsor for the White Sox Radio Network are the only regrets today. Hopefully Tim returns tomorrow and the runs and wins follow. Also, strong courage to start a game thread after the past few games, @Capn12
  2. Let's make another out on the basepaths. Runners thrown out at 2nd, 3rd, and home, one from each OFer.
  3. Not sure if TV covered this, but Len said Tony stated Kimbrel is unavailable tonight.
  4. I used the 2020 vs. 2021 winning percentages through yesterday. Perhaps you were mistaking .571 with his White Sox (.513) or entire career (.537).
  5. I've been calling for this since Spring Training. RH Starters: TA, YM, JA, EJ, LR, YG, AV, CH, AE LH Starters: TA, LR, JA, EJ, YM, YG, AV, CH, AE
  6. Can see Collins catching until Grandal returns, followed by Seby getting sent to the cornfield to join Mercedes after last night.
  7. Where they tanking in the 80s? 1997 is the only other year under Jerry I remember white flags waving from the owners box. Tony has a full rotation and Ricky had two, and still finished with a better record, despite Tony's alleged "schematic advantage".
  8. Cesar, Goodwin, Leury and Jake are trusted veterans who have earned their place in Tony's lineup, Rookies and youngsters like Luis, Andrew and Yoan need to wait their turn. If Tony got Jerry to sign off as his medical power of attorney, perhaps the trio will earn Tony's trust by the time he is closing in on Connie Mack's win total in 2031/2032.
  9. Seems more legitimate to discuss Sox teams which in theory actually attempted to field a competitive team. Ricky played an instrumental role in developing the current core roster. If you don't acknowledge that, I don't no what to tell you.
  10. I agree, but tell that to Tony, he's brought it up multiple times postgame this month, once to cover both Craig and Liam when they were brought in during a tie game. "It's not a save opportunity,"
  11. DJ says he is concerned with Robert not taking 3rd on Yoan's hit, says he may be hurt/doesn't know what the problem is. Could folks tell on TV? Won't have a problem scoring on Jose's home run! 3-0 Sox.
  12. Yep. Houston we have a problem. Not sure what say Hahn or Kenny have at this point, Another problem.
  13. Tony has enough sense not to play Lamb in the OF in a meaningful game barring a roster catastrophe. Fear Tony will sit Vaughn / Engel to get Goodwin's strong side platoon bat into playoff games, poor defense be damned.
  14. Dude, it’s 70 games caught, and it has nothing to do with McCann, he got Cohen Mets funny money I wouldn’t have paid either (years or AAV). The point this entire time is the club had far more pressing needs than attempting to upgrade at catcher for $76m, despite the fact they had three holes in the rotation, and an annual hole in RF that remains open. It’s poor roster management and allocation of resources. If the Sox have a much higher payroll than when he signed ($127m, or 15%), it won’t be as an egregious hit. Would still rather they carry two decent catchers, than dedicate so much to an aged catcher, with his worth primarily locked into walking in front of a shitty bottom third of the order, and pitch framing, a combo not enticing enough to make Lucas or Rodon want to throw to him. He was never on pace for 120 games since the two young aces rejected him outright, and split time with McCann in a short season. Ironically, I have Grandal in the SoxTalk fantasy league not as my starter as I have Will Smith who is better (and this is an OPS league), but as a backup for C and 1B.
  15. Feel better about Tim’s future availability: https://www.twitter.com/JRFegan/status/1430262449278791689
  16. Dylan has been much better at home (.628 OPS, 2.61 ERA, 3.48 K/BB) than away (.727 OPS, 5.86 ERA, 2.92 K/BB) this year. I foresee calls to demote Cease from the playoff rotation (at least until Dallas’ next start) and pages in the game thread with complaints regarding pitch framing.
  17. Here is a non cherry picked list. 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers 8-5 2019 Washington (Wild Card) 48-48 2018 Boston 41-33 2017 Houston 18-15 2016 Chicago Cubs 31-25 2015 Kansas City 47-43 2014 San Francisco (WC) 27-31 2013 Boston 53-43 2012 San Francisco Giants 44-42 2011 Saint Louis (WC) 30-30
  18. Sorry you were unable to will Tim into existence. The only thing I felt was 100% certain was Collins starting after Tony’s temper tantrum last night.
  19. I was told by Hahn his manager search would consist of interviews of candidates with recent postseason experience. I was told that Tony would never be “outmanaged”, that he and his teams would always come prepared. I was told he (.571) was better than Rick Renteria (.583). I was told a lot of things.
