  1. The one report stated his symptoms as light. Jason had to wait to return until he passed the same protocols as the players do in terms of negative test results to attempt to prevent infecting other broadcast crew partners in the studio (road) or ballpark (home).
  2. Yep, I hit positive likes on every pro Moncada post in this thread. 2021 White Sox fWAR Leaders (2+) 4.1 Rodon 3.3 Anderson 3.2 Lynn 3.1 Cease 3.0 Moncada 2.6 Giolito 2.2 Abreu
  3. To me, these are the most reasonable compromises, assuming playoffs "must" be expanded, regular season has some semblance of importance (with the top team or two teams getting a bye, or perhaps a Korean League Format. I'm fine with an 154 game schedule, which was standard until the first MLB expansion after the 1960 season. They should revert to a more balanced league schedule, especially in lieu of further playoff expansions, to not create a large disparity in schedule strength vs. playoff eligibility. Would go Division (4 X 12 = 48) + Intraleague (10 x 9 = 90) + Interleague (4 "rivalry games" + four rotating 3 game series / perhaps seeded based on previous season = 16). For 162, would go with same Division (48) and Interleague (90) + (24) interleague (9 rival (rotating extra home series each year) + 15 (5 x 3) rotating division / home & away format). The current schedule (76 division games) is complete horseshit with wild cards, even worse with more added wild cards. Since the addition of the wild card, I continue to have the same interest in the regular season due to several rotisserie leagues and following the White Sox, but have stopped watching the playoffs unless the Sox are involved. With 16 + team playoffs, my interest including the White Sox postseason would decrease, though I'd still likely listen.
  4. Who wants to vacation in Florida in June? So many better options, wait for a year the Sox are in Tampa in April / early May, the only time during baseball season worth traveling there. Went to the Trop and Joe Robbie during April, perfect weather to enjoy time in Florida. Used to go as a kid to Sarasota (the Lido Beach) during Easter break. Can’t believe how developed it’s gotten since the late 1970s.
  5. No, the Sox offense does not need an adjustment. The Sox lead MLB with 72 home runs since June 30 and are sixth in MLB in runs scored during this timeframe. The only suggestion would be to have this playoff lineup once Grandal and Engel return: RH Starters: TA, YM, JA, EJ, LR, YG, AV, CH, AE LH Starters: TA, LR, JA, EJ, YM, YG, AV, CH, AE
  6. I’ve been to 42 MLB stadiums, rank Tampa Bay stadium 41st, Metrodome 42nd. Plus Florida weather sucks in June. San Diego is the best road city, San Francisco the best road stadium next year among the inter league games, though neither are conducive to road trips under two weeks. Looking at the Sox schedule, the best bets assuming the season is played would be hitting Cleveland and Baltimore in August if you haven’t been to those stadiums. The two other cool trips would be hitting the two historic ballparks in early May (Wrigley and Fenway). The best flying trip is California. Rent a car to drive the Pacific Coast Highway while catching the Angels and Giants at the end of June/beginning of July. Could hit Yosemite on the way back to Anaheim or just fly back home from San Francisco.
  7. Not to mention the fact the owners used the situation to lockout players from well over half the season, because they were completely satisfied limiting 2020 payroll to the laughable playoff shares ($7,680 for wild card entrants through $184,000 for World Series champions). A 100-120 plus game season was a reasonable compromise, but the owners were ecstatic they unilaterally destroyed well over half the season. MLB was the only sport whose owners were not committed to playing the maximum amount of games feasible under the circumstances. Owners are now looking to create permanent 162 game exhibition season schedule, with sixteen, possibly more, teams reaching the playoffs, rendering the regular season as meaningless as the NBA and NHL. Jerry was completely satisfied destroying the 1994 White Sox World Series team as one of firmest anti player / anti settlement hardline owners. Federal Judge Sonia Sotomayor was the only person standing in his way from destroying the 1995 season, and possibly beyond. Thankfully Jerry does not hold as much power or broad owner support as he did nearly 30 years ago. Jerry lost the battle to replace his personal hand puppet Selig with a more anti player hardline candidate when the majority of owners voted against Jerry. Sadly, owners wouldn’t consider a decent candidate or human being among the two considered, with drunken assclown Rob Manfred the alternative candidate.
  8. Teams closing in on the all time record for most pitchers used in a ML season (Current Record Holder - 2019 Seattle Mariners - 42). 39 New York Mets 38 Arizona Diamondbacks 37 Toronto Blue Jays & Chicago Cubs 36 Tampa Bay Rays & Milwaukee Brewers 35 Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners & Los Angeles Dodgers
  9. Known this offseason: Stalked college student on twitter. Anti-semetic lies / trash posted on twitter. Yeah, I'm sure Jerry would be all in to sign this piece of shit. Complete asshat run out of Arizona. Complete asshat run out of Cleveland. Complete asshat run out of Cincinnati.
  10. Live from NBC Tower I presume. Glad Len will travel with the team this weekend, looking forward to the Len and DJ reunion.
  11. The Chicago Hockey Team has filed motions in an attempt to groom the judge assigned to the rape trial in hopes of shielding the case from public. This strategy is consistent with their paid for sham "investigation", and lack of commitment to full public disclosure and reciprocal availability of witnesses, in an effort to exonerate Rocky Wirtz and his organization for aiding and abetting Brad Aldrich.
  12. The CBA states otherwise. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/02/mlbpa-files-grievance-against-four-teams-over-revenue-sharing-funds.html
  13. You need Brass Balls to win an American League Cy Young. Looks like Lance Lynn has them.
  14. I love Len is well. His voice was weird to get used to at the start (Kermit the Frog like), but he is great. I really hope Jason and Steve stay for a while so he doesn’t bail radio like Stone did when he signed for a year. I do like Connor better than Andy Mazur, who took over under terrible circumstances (Farmer’s death and announcing off a screen, which TV is still doing a year later). Speaking of things I love, I saw the graphic at the bar the Sox lead either MLB or the AL in HRs (71) since June 30. One more thing I love, $2.50 pints of Off Color Apex Predator on special watching White Sox baseball at the bar.
  15. Fuck MLB owners. All 30. The CBA already calls for teams to spend the revenue sharing threshold, which was $91M in 2019.
  16. Yes, the NFL is ridiculous. I guess Len is covering for COVID ravaged Jason, they had a substitute host for Connor who is announcing again. J Hood has filled in on Friday nights. Hope Jason returns to the Jerry Springer studios soon, so Len can travel to Tampa to cover the weekend series. I don’t have MLB audio subscriptions, so can’t here the Dave Wills call.
  17. The Bears have two concurrent pre-game shows on 24/7, the regular season opener show which started June 4th on WBBM, and the pregame show for the next Exhibition game which started Sunday on their sister station WCKG.
  18. I like the idea of keeping most of the line up the same, except flipping Robert and Moncada. Playoff lineup RHP: TA, YM, JA, EJ, LR, YG, AV, CH, AE LHP: TA, LR, JA, EJ, YM, YG, AV, CH, AE
  19. Amazing the progress players can make after you sweep out crony dinosaurs out of the organization. Kudos to Reynaldo for his commitment, and to Katz who helped right the ship.
