Was hoping Peralta would throw lots of balls today with the long layoff. Be patient Sox. -
The lawsuit filed in Cook County did not reference the term "gay", it referenced the taunts of the rape victims by members of the Chicago Hockey Team with the six letter f word and told them to perform other sexual acts and other slurs, none of them allowable on over the air broadcasts. In other updates, a former NBA executive now with an NHL team is wondering WTF he gotten himself into. Cronyism, it's a Chicago Sports Thang.

Per Mark Gonzalez' story yesterday, Eloy will be in LF, Andrew Vaughn is learning RF, 3B and is also considered as a pinch hitter with "great guts". https://www.dailyherald.com/sports/20210722/gonzales-andrew-vaughn-has-plenty-of-value-for-white-sox-even-when-eloy-jimenez-returns 12 years ago today, the White Sox played major league outfielders in right, center AND left field. -

My source said he flew to Milwaukee to eat Chik-Fil-A and celebrate at the parade before flying back to Charlotte to play Thursday night. -

Sort of an odd move by TB in terms of money and the health of Hunter, but would never assume they will lose a trade. Laughing at Mets fans cockiness on Twitter, you would think they would have learned over the past 35 years nothing typically goes well for the team. Rich Hill had a brief good stretch in May, but was never going to do much in the AL East once they took away the sticky stuff (23 2/3 IP, 12 Runs). All blue on Savant. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/rich-hill-448179?stats=gamelogs-r-pitching-mlb&season=2021

Excited to see the resumption of the series, really missed going up there nearly every Summer when the Brewers were in the AL West. Also loved going to Milwaukee County Stadium to catch the Green Bay Packers, until that also ended in the 1990s. This will be Game 29 vs. the Brewers as a National League Opponent. The White Sox are 18-10 in interleague games vs. the Brewers, and were 189-169 as an American League opponent. It's sad that the Cubs have now played more games against the Brewers (Brewers are 194-197 against the Cubs, or 5 games more than games played against the Whtie Sox. -

Jason and The Stone Pony will not be joining the hoards of FIBs making their way to Milwaukee this weekend. They remain stuck in Jerry's studio in the NBC Tower. Let's see if it's too expensive for them to hit Wrigley Field the following week. Pro tip - Hit the Kenosha Woodman's, not Mars Cheese, for your Wisconsin Provisions. -
Sounds more like an excuse or very weak attempt to cling to the inguardians. Probably spent more on the marketing firm Intradgedians to come up with this weak name than their on field payroll. There will be a large portion of fans who will cling to the indians or shorten it to 'dians. Spiders would have been a great option, but obviously no indians reference. I guess it beats the Custodians, though not IntComedians, with Drew Carey as the logo. Time for the Chicago Hockey Team to embrace change, in every single aspect of their organIzation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZzgAjjuqZM

I never had any sexual advances from another dude, sorry it happened to you. In terms of the slurs, they were common place when I was young (70s/80s), as were racist slurs, girl/female slurs and other pathetic language. Our alderman, Thomas Cullerton (his son led the senate for decades) said he would not allow any N word (plural) in our neighborhood at a community meeting when subsidized housing was discussed and was in office until he died ten years later. Back then, we knew a few kids from a different parish who were raped by a Scout leader. All of us had the sense to not taunt or tease them because they were raped. We were 8th grade/freshman year high school when this came out. If someone taunted a rape victim, they would have gotten their ass kicked by us all, and deservedly so. This was a few years after Gacy was busted a few miles away, These players, coaches and ownership/management were all adults, and this is 30 years later in a much different period. All should be shunned and held in contempt, I don't give a rats ass if they hoisted a "piece of metal" on the ice. Management/ownership aided and abetted a rapist, and as we all know now, a decades long serial child rapist, just as they aided and abetted their racist minor league coach. While the players who taunted the rape victims weren't responsible for reporting this to the police and holding this member of Chicago Hockey Team management accountable, they were and are responsible for their horrible conduct against who they knew to be rape victims. There is no defense for this behavior. The players involved were in their 20s, some perhaps in their 30s. This isn't some youthful high school / grammar school indiscretion, or something that happened decades ago when it was more "acceptable". What is worse is the pathetic NHL and this repulsive scumbag Wirtz organization continues to actively working to cover this up. They are not allowing testimony or cross examination with ownership and management, not committing to a full public reporting of all testimony. This is a sham investigation to cover up crimes and absolve their ownership of any accountability. MLB did the same thing with the Astros, and it seems as though there are some fans who are more upset about sign stealing (or at least more vocal about it) than about what has taken place with this truly vile vermin.

Very nice. I like the older broadcasts, believe the broadcasters complimented the game well. Much more enjoyable game for the fans back then, good defense and pitching. Most of the players were normal human size. I was tired and fell asleep during the 5th inning after watching a couple of innings returning after home from school. The Sox had already won by the time I woke up, and no VCR/Beta back then in our home. Watched all of Game 2, than attended 3 & 4 SRO, bought after spending the night with thousands of fans in the Comiskey Park parking lot. Cheers! -

I muted Sox broadcasts during the Hawk years, and I'm fine watching at a bar with no volume, so can at least understand this viewpoint. But they are compromised as to what they can convey to the viewer, be it something not captured by the video feeds they do have, and also the various player and coach discussions and stories they can relay after spending time with the team both at home and on the road. They are also limited to road feeds under this format, Sox broadcasts (and Cubs) were well produced on WGN over the years, so people are losing out on their unique broadcast. I prefer radio broadcasts, which I listen to either doing other things at home or taking long walks. I watch the condensed games afterward, works out well, and outside of watching at a bar or elsewhere, there are no more OTA broadcasts. Half the game threads here are just griping about the strike zone / catcher framing / umpire calls / the box. Hope viewers get more out of baseball than this very narrow perspective out of a broadcast, though I do believe Sox fans in particular have been conditioned over the decades by Hawk's endless bitching about the umpires. -

AKA The White Sox Flagship Radio Station, though perhaps they let go of their social media editor to fund Len and DJ's travel. Jerry still holding out sending Steve and Jason to that all inclusive trip to Milwaukee, a trip thousands of Sox fans can afford each of the next three days. -
NOTE TO MODERATORS: Not sure if we should create a new thread specific to the Chicago Hockey Team rape and rape coverup. Please move this and other applicable posts to the separate thread, if warranted. Chicago Hockey Team and their "Independent Investigation" into their rape coverup won't agree to a reciprocal agreement from the team, or the ability to question team officials. Graphical details of one of the rape incidents, including verbal and physical threats including a baseball bat. https://www.tsn.ca/former-blackhawks-player-describes-alleged-sexual-assault-in-new-court-filing-1.1671682 Incidents also included years of hazing of the victim by players, while the coaches stood by and did nothing. Then again, Chicago Hockey Team ownership and FO also covered up racist abuse by their minor league head coach during the same time period. I will never give a penny to this organization until the Wirtz family and their entire front office is long gone. The team needs to be confiscated by the league, in the same manner as the Clippers and the Carolina football team within the past few years.

Whether they pick up a starting 2B or reserve infielder before the deadline is the key open hitter decision at this juncture. I believe the “bubble buster” call will come down to Goodwin vs. Lamb, and Tony allowing the rookies to germinate in Charlotte before September call ups. Assuming all four hitters return as anticipated this season (Madrigal the exception), and no trade acquisition, I believe the Sox will go with a three man plus catcher bench: Catcher: YG, ZC Infield: JA, LG, TA, YM, DM Outfield: AV, LR, AE, BG, BH Designated Hitter: EJ AAA: [September call ups Sheets (3) & Burger (3)] Zavala (1) I believe Burr will be optioned (3 remain) if a reliever is acquired, unless the Sox opt to release or trade Ruiz (no options). (Options remaining per Fangraphs) https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/white-sox

“ You cannot take percentages of what you think -- how you would script it -- and take them into a game. You have to watch the game and see. Do you smell a close game? Do you smell a crooked-number game?” When I “smell” a close game under Tony, I smell a loss. Games decided by 2 + runs: 48-25 .658 Games decided by 1 run: 10-12 .455 ”When you play for one run, that’s usually all you get. I have nothing against the bunt in its place, but most of the time, that place is in the bottom of a long forgotten closet.” - Earl Weaver -
