  1. Seven Ks for Rodon. Sox starters have become inspired after Lynn's payday.
  2. Yes, the question is will he want to remain here, or leave like Harry?
  3. Jason covering Red Sox / Yankees for the worldwide leader in douchebaggery. Wonder if he is seeking permanent greener pastures after Jerry Reinsdorf's RSN continues to ban Steve and Jason from traveling. Jason called Jerry's network "Hot Garbage" earlier this week on the score.
  4. This is why fans should never "throw it back", or throw anything else onto the field. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/07/17/sports/fan-hits-alex-verdugo-with-baseball-crazy-scene-yankee-stadium-game-rain-delay/
  5. While staffing is also concerned, the 1-2 minutes to process each credit card (longer using mobile machines, assuming they are working) vs. a 30 second cash transaction is the primary reason for delays inside. The enhanced security, ban on paper tickets and additional restrictions on bag size have increased the time it takes to get into the park.
  6. Have to also consider Hamilton's incredible defense vs. Goodwin's terrible defense. It's the short side of the platoon (1 in 4 games), and only until Robert returns, so we're talking maybe 5 more games, and then perhaps 3-4 more games the rest of the year to give Robert a breather. Sox pitchers love seeing Hamilton in CF.
  7. Mega very slow moving lines to get in / and waiting for concessions inside the stadium are far more conducive to transmitting COVID than having vendors work the game and accepting cash. The city's / teams policies are making it worse (banned paper tickets, banned cash, many turned away with any bag larger than a thimble, banned cash accepting vendors - the portable credit card machines don't work well/at all), Gestapo security tactics in the stands of Comiskey.
  8. Playing Vaughn in LF was considered absurd in March. I agree it's absurd to try this in October, without proven success in the regular season. The team has a big enough cushion to try Burger at 2B for a few weeks, if he has been practicing there and given a lot of pre game reps like Vaughn did in his crash course. That is unless they determined he cannot based on a very short 4 game sample in Charlotte.
  9. Awesome Lineup! No Collins for Rodon the only concern, but Zavala had time to work with Rodon since Thursday/Friday, so it should work out. Valdez is tough, so should be a nice low scoring pitchers duel today (Sox -130 / 8 under -110). 2021 OPS Splits vs. LHP: SS Tim Anderson .695 RF Adam Engel .819 1B Jose Abreu .908 LF Andrew Vaughn 1.036 DH Yoan Moncada .708 3B Jake Burger .347 (only 9 PAs vs. LHP) CF Billy Hamilton .925 (Should play every game vs. LHS) C Seby Zavala None (First game vs. LHP) 2B Danny Mendick .504
  10. Let's go back, way back. To a time some of us may not even be able to remember. That's right, three months ago, to the last time a "conundrum" thread was created, and Eloy was presented as a "trade candidate" to accommodate Yermin "Too Legit To Quit" Mercedes. Sooo, to me the only current conundrum is whether the Sox will take the opportunity to try Burger at 2B over the next few weeks, with the large division lead, or whether he will remain organizational depth / trade bait. Hopefully the Sox will keep Burger up over Jake Lamb, though not sure whether Tony shares in that opinion, despite the fact it doesn't appear the Sox have faith of Jake playing the infield (two starts at 3B and 1B), and his corner OF ability is pretend level, at best.
  11. Plus the Sox played Burger at 2B in AAA after Madrigal went down. They are not worried about injuries, just whether he can play adequately. Think Tony is more comfortable with the "veteran" at 2B, and the fact he can continue to sprinkle Leury in everyday as a switch hitter. That said, would like to see Burger to get a chance at 2B, perhaps today (Sunday). Hopefully Jake is getting a lot of reps at 2B pregame. Tim needs to be comfortable as well, don't want him getting hurt with poor throws on DP pivots. If I had a dollar for every post wanting Moncada to shift to 2B to "fix" the team, I could buy the White Sox.
  12. Lucas is like, "Hey, I'm a stud as well!" and comes up with a gem. Burger hit's his first. Collins worked another great game with Lucas, adding a HR. This could be the day SoxTalk is unified, everyone seems to have enjoyed the Lynn extension and game tonight. Keep the Good Vibes and Winning going tomorrow!!!
  13. I'm good with one more inning at this point, don't want him over 100 pitches. There's a good chance there is 3 months of pitching to go this season. Have to credit Collins with another great battery game tonight, and also the HR.
  14. Robel Garcia is the only position player to have pitched for the Astros this season. He has a 36.00 ERA in his one appearance. Rookies better keep their ears open if he is called in to pitch.
  15. No question, but the drop off from Robert and the NIRs / Hamilton is greater than say, Burger replacing Moncada. I just think Tim's intangibles (and Jose's more low key) leadership are hard to quantify. Tim got the nod in the AL player vote for the ASG replacement, believe the players in the league respect and acknowledge all that he brings to the table. The lack of initial baseball pedigree makes Tim even more impressive. Really hope he is a White Sox for life, more than any other player on the roster (and I'd like to see several others be White Sox for life). GAVIN SHEETS DOES IT AGAIN!!!
  16. Losing Luis Robert costs you the most fWAR, but losing Tim Anderson costs you any chance of winning the WS IMO. He is that important setting the table, anchoring the infield, and his leadership which makes the entire team better.
  17. Don't necessarily have a problem with it in the stands, just keep it in the stands.
  18. Stay classy Sox fans, no need for the stupid garbage can on the field.
