  1. Yes, taking an sick or injured player out makes sense.
  2. I agree, that is why I want a 9 up, they currently have 8, but Kopech starting makes it seven (Crochet's absence made it 6 except for Tuesdays game).
  3. Or fifth, that is where most HOF managers and persons would instinctually bat 2021 Jake Lamb (OPS + 52; .143 BA, .143 SLG). I'm hoping against reality it's a "DFA Getaway" sendoff, a la Nick Williams. Hahn, please take charge, thank you. Tony La Russa is putting my Game Thread duties to the test today, I will not be deterred by his antics.
  4. Yeah, I'd prefer him DFA'd and Grandal, or even Yasmani covering first. Or Lamb batting eighth if he "must" play. Then again, Tony claims he is a "Franchise Type of Guy".
  5. White Sox going for a sweep today. Will likely see the Twins' best starting effort for the series with Pineda on the mound. OK with Abreu DHing for a day after his bumps and bruises.
  6. "Throwing away games" in May? Don't think so. You can floor the gas pedal 162 games, and expect anything in the gas tank come September and October. Baseball is a grind. Can also bring either up, or someone else, as long man to eat the innings you lose with Kopech starting.
  7. Reading comprehension is a skill, using teal wouldn’t help some here.
  8. They can always put him on the 10 day IL for rest, or to work on mechanics. Would like to see the Sox go with 9 relievers until Engel returns, DFA Jake Lamb. There are two DHs, bring up Reynaldo Lopez or Steiver for one or both starts. By pulling Kopech to start tomorrow, and being cautious with Crochet (1 outing in 15 days), you’re using six primary bullpen arms, and will burn out or injure players with over usage. Heuer pitched the last three games, 17,11 and 18 pitches, and has pitched in 15 games, on pace for 71 regular season games.
  9. Pretty sure Hahn wants Hendricks used more effectively as well, in higher leverage situations. Hell need more work to get his slider over, since hitters are sitting on his fastball and having good success.
  10. Yes, his best game ever. Nice to see everyone contributing. https://mobile.twitter.com/whitesox/status/1392706762655125504
  11. I hope so, but he's a righty, and while the Sox can be solid against RHP, can't expect them to always score 9+. I like that Lynn is out there, can give them 7+ and save the bullpen for the DH on Friday.
  12. Frustrating final four innings, but glad they built the huge lead. Can’t give up in today’s game. Will be a close game tomorrow. Pineda is the best pitcher they will face this series. Lynn is the same on the flip side. I’ll open a thread tomorrow when the lineup is available.
  13. Agreed. They can always send him on IL stint to give him test or let him work on things. He’ll be valuable if/when he can work things out.
  14. They had a max in 2020, it was rescinded in 2021. Teams have gone with 14 this year. Garcia and Mendick also cover third, Lamb is worthless. At least Hamilton has attributes that can serve the team well.
  15. They should go with 14, and actually use the 27th man in DHs until Engel returns, when you have a fourth hitter who actually can contribute. Its asinine to blow throw your bullpen to keep a completely worthless player on the roster.
  16. La Russa will blow out Heuer’s arm so Jake “Franchise Kinda Guy” Lamb can keep Tony company. Hahn, man up and DFA Lamb already.
  17. Yes, precious needs to pitch tonight, with or without a save opportunity. He has pitched 2 1/3 innings this month.
  18. Don’t like Heuer having to pitch again. Has 16 IP and 14 appearances plus what Tony has him pitch tonight. Bring another reliever for for games like these and DFA Lamb already.
