  1. So $1.5M more than Jerry has laid out with his two major moves,.
  2. Unlike the midget DBag earlier today, Lynn was able to speak to LaRussa.
  3. If they closed out the off season with this, I would be satisfied. I don't think they are done. While I'm on the fence regarding giving up Dunning for Lynn, I'm hoping Eaton is the only signing I hate when the dust clears.
  4. Either live or archived? Anyone who had access have any worthwhile statements / comments to share? Thanks in advance.
  5. While I respect your opinion, and want to note Harold is my all time favorite White Sox player, looking at it objectively he was not a better player. Jerry's comments in my post addressed his on field performance, unless he was besmirching him with a "checkered career" comment. Dick Allen finished as a 58.8 bWAR player and won the AL MVP. Dick Allen has six seasons with a 5.3 bWAR or higher, with two OVER 8.5 (8.6 and 8.8). Harold Baines was a 38.7 bWAR player. He has two seasons above 2.9 (3.4 and 4.3). 9th was his highest MVP vote total.
  6. One thing is a near certainty, Adam Eaton will double the number of White Sox who hate his guts from 24 to 48 this season. Wonder if Rick Hahn will last more than 90 seconds during his press conference (that's what she said).
  7. Eaton costs you games in RF. With so many better FA RF alternatives this off-season, I can see no positives with this signing. Engel/Garcia platoon and spending $6.4M elsewhere is a far better option. Schwarber has better dWAR ratings, and unlike Eaton is in his prime and can stay on the field and hits more HRs in a season than Eaton his past four combined. 2017: G: 23 HR: 2 OPS: .854 oWAR: 0.9 dWAR: -0.6 WAR: 0.3 2018: G: 95 HR: 5 OPS: .805 oWAR: 1.8 dWAR: -1.1 WAR: 1.1 2019: G: 151 HR: 15 OPS: .792 oWAR: 1.9 dWAR: -0.9 WAR: 1.5 2020: G: 41 HR: 4 OPS: .669 oWAR: -0.3 dWAR: -0.7 WAR: -0.9
  8. Adam Eaton past four years, nearly every RF free agent is a better option in RF, at bat and in the clubhouse. What a wasted opportunity to placate Tony LaRussa. 2017: G: 23 HR: 2 OPS: .854 oWAR: 0.9 dWAR: -0.6 WAR: 0.3 2018: G: 95 HR: 5 OPS: .805 oWAR: 1.8 dWAR: -1.1 WAR: 1.1 2019: G: 151 HR: 15 OPS: .792 oWAR: 1.9 dWAR: -0.9 WAR: 1.5 2020: G: 41 HR: 4 OPS: .669 oWAR: -0.3 dWAR: -0.7 WAR: -0.9
  9. I posted this before the Adam Eaton signing announcement, I stand by my post, preferring Nicky Delmonico and $6.4M to spend elsewhere than Adam Eaton.
  10. I expect a 25 man all white roster on Opening Day. Gotta keep Tony happy.
  11. The club house went from Three Mile Island after the LaRussa signing to Chernobyl after the Eaton signing.
  12. Piece of shit, JR in a nutshell. Dick Allen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Harold Baines. The good people keep dying, and JR and TLR seem to live forever. https://www.espn.com/blog/chicago/white-sox/post/_/id/22457/reinsdorf-disappointed-over-hof-vote “Dick Allen had kind of a checkered career,” Reinsdorf said. “If I had been on the committee, I wouldn’t have voted for him. He only really had six really good years. I don’t think he would rise to the standard of the others, in my opinion. But when he was with the White Sox he certainly had Hall of Fame years.”
  13. If only he was an billionaire owner, he would have all charges dropped. Three women arrested last year as part of a high-profile "human trafficking" sting in Florida were sentenced recently as part of plea agreements with Palm Beach County prosecutors. While avoiding further jail time, the women must still pay the state some hefty fees for allegedly facilitating the sexual gratification of massage customers, including New England Patriots' owner Robert Kraft.
  14. Lynn knows how to pitch, and Dick Allen played a practical joke on Steve Stone when he arrived with the White Sox, telling him he was traded a week after being acquired, and ditching him for dinner.
  15. The last time Lance Lynn pitched.... Gave up 15 runs to Houston in 11 innings. Better hope he improves against good teams since he and his 4.80 Playoff ERA is considered a "playoff ace."
  16. Molina may be the starting catcher this year when all is said and done. Of all of Tony's "buddies", Lynn and Wainwright are the best options. Please no Pujols, and for non LaRussa guys, no Adam Eaton. Would rather have Nicky Delmonico.
  17. The process was discarded when Reinsdorf big timed Hahn and hired the criminal scumbag manager.
  18. Hell, Joe Altobelli pwned Tony's ass the last time the drunk was here. The one good thing Hawk Harrelson ever did for the White Sox and Jerry had to go screw that up as well.
  19. Sounds like the Jon Daniels also subscribes to Baseball Prospectus.
  20. I don't like trading a solid prospect for an old few month rental, with a 4.8 Playoff ERA. And for the record, Kenny or Hahn have little to no say at this point, just like they had little to no say in the LaRussa debacle. They collect their checks and keep their mouth shut and smile on cue.
  21. And next year will likely be reduced by 1/4 to 1/2 the number of games. So more like a trade deadline deal in reality.
  22. Did a drunk Tony LaRussa pull the trigger without Hahn knowing? What's next, Grandal for Pujols, sign Molina and Wainwright, coax Matt Holiday out of retirement?
  23. Perhaps on paper, but 24 players in the clubhouse would likely want someone/anyone else. I like Jackie Bradley Jr, the fact he can back up Roberts for scheduled days off and any injuries, and also would help the pitching staff playing regularly in RF. If they also signed Schwarber, their lineup against RH and LH would be awesome. Bench: C Collins; INF Mendick INF/OF Garcia OF Engel Currently, the Sox baseline payroll is $65.4M for hitters & $32.4M for pitchers, or $97.8M without any free agents. If the Sox spend $15.8M more ($1.0M less the $1.2M ML minimum) for the two proposed free agents, it brings payroll to $113.6M before spending on a free agent SP and or RP. 24. These are good points. I do expect Moncada to have a better season next year, and looking at the splits, Moncada should bat second over Grandal against RH Starters.
