  1. Boyer interviewed, no other details were disclosed including announcers (game or pre/post), noted Jerry's empty communication released this morning.
  2. Not "jumping off a cliff", just stating the current situation. For every public statement player, there are many more not commenting publicly, but will just avoid the situation. The White Sox are at a competitive disadvantage this free agent season. There is no coaching staff in place, the organization is fully engaged in unnecessary damage control. There are many competitive teams with a good core. Players want to play in a place they feel comfortable. Tim Anderson, the team leader, is not comfortable based on his statements. Dallas Keuchel was the only FA signing last year by a player who could have signed elsewhere for the same / possibly more $/years.
  3. I hope Jose Abreu wins, and is not told to "stifle yourself" and ordered to decline all interviews by Jerry Reinsdorf's PR minions, to protect Jerry's crony hire and the continued backlash.
  4. Can't see any option other than the first listed winning. A poll with a chance of getting a divergence in opinion would be what is your top reason Jerry Reinsdorf should go after 40 seasons? Here are my five options, though perhaps others have other reasons (like threatening to move to Tampa in 1986): 1980 - The Chicago White Sox had a relatively 50/50 fan attendance / interest split in Chicago. This severely eroded under Jerry Reinsdorf's tenure. 1990 - Coup d'etat of Fay Vincent and installation of puppet Bud Selig as MLB Commissioner to eliminate any objectivity or representation beyond ownership. 1994 - MLB Season lockout and cancellation, and the impact on the first place White Sox, the Montreal Expos which were destroyed, or MLB as a sport. 2005 - The only season in 40 years the White Sox advanced in the playoffs. "Show fans the carrot" and don't leave a dollar on the table is his operating philosophy. 2020 - The Tony LaRussa Hostage Crisis, ruining all goodwill earned by the players and fostering near universal toxicity throughout the White Sox Organization.
  5. Several months ago, the White Sox were in Spring Training receiving high praise, while the Bulls were the laughing stock of the NBA. Who would have thought that before the year ended, a complete role reversal would occur. The Chicago Bulls became a destination for high profile executives, coaches, and free agents. Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox are now considered the laughing stock of MLB, a team free agents openly shun due to their deplorable leadership. I doubt any players with legitimate options elsewhere will want to play in this most toxic work environment.
  6. That twitter post is fire, like gatherings at Tony LaRussa's house.
  7. MLB will NEVER allow this to go to a public trial. The case will either go to a private arbitration session, or be settled out of court. Everything stated in the filing about MLB’s sham investigation and Manfred’s report being a complete whitewash of Jim Crane is absolutely true. That said, Luhnow is a complete scumbag.
  8. No, but what is an absolute crock of shit is anything out of Tony LaRussa’s or Jerry Reinsdorf’s mouth. There is no fool like an old fool. “I accept full responsibility for my conduct, and assure everyone that I have learned a very valuable lesson and that this will never occur again,” - Tony LaRussa, after his 2007 conviction for criminal DUI. "Managing, it just takes an awful lot out of you. There's nothing else for him to accomplish. You know, he's won three World Series, and uh, he's in the Hall of Fame. And so, there's no reason for him to go back to managing, and have to try to deal with people 22 years old when you're 75 years old." - Jerry Reinsdorf, February 2020 6:23 mark
  9. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/opponents-of-arizonas-immigration-law-take-their-protests-to-the-ballpark "I'm actually a supporter of what Arizona's doing. … The national government doesn’t fix your problem, and you've got a problem, they've got to take care of it themselves," La Russa said.
  10. Tony LaRussa is a huge supporter of Sheriff Joe's racial profiling, and of protesters supporting Sheriff Joe. Sheriff Joe was shit-canned by voters a few years ago, but one would not be surprised if many officers formerly under his command still look out for "their people", and that they "just so happened" to file Tony LaRussa's criminal DUI paperwork in a wrong jurisdiction. Perhaps Tony's DUI blood vile will "just so happen" to fall and crack on the floor, with contents unable to be admitted as evidence. It will be one big coincidence, and Tony will be deemed "innocent". Funny how people are crying about "Tony's civil rights" somehow being violated as if the presiding Arizona judge in Tony LaRussa's most recent DUI criminal case posts on SoxTalk. This is the same Tony LaRussa who supported Sheriff Joe's racial profiling, denying thousands of people their, wait for it, civil rights. Tony also backed the "sincere" protesters backing Sheriff Joe's racial profiling policies; the same racial profiling activity that led to a conviction of one Sheriff Joe. But of course, Sheriff Joe is "innocent" as well, since he received a political pardon.
  11. Agreed, every word was thoroughly disgusting. Bob Nightengale related links below, Mothers Against Drunk Driving - National: https://www.madd.org/ Mothers Against Drunk Driving - Illinois: https://www.madd.org/illinois/ Mothers Against Drunk Driving - Arizona: https://www.madd.org/arizona/ Gannet Corporation: https://www.gannett.com/contact/ USA Today: https://www.usatoday.com/contact/staff/ https://twitter.com/therealmccarter https://twitter.com/nicole_carroll MLB: https://www.mlb.com/official-information/about-mlb https://www.mlb.com/sponsorship/official-sponsors Twitter: https://twitter.com/BNightengale
  12. Then Bob was completely inaccurate at best, or an MLB / JR / TLR apologist at worst. Two or three glasses of wine during a normal 45-60 minute meal would not render someone Tony’s weight (6’ 0”, at least 180 lbs) 0.095, his reported BAC obtained hours after police arrested him. https://communitylawfirm.com/bac-calculator Unless these were the wine glasses.
  13. I think a direct quote is required to determine whether the unclear summary of Bob’s comments were directed at the legal ramifications of a “first offense” conviction in the State of Arizona, or whether he stated the act of driving drunk is “not a big deal”. Its likely the former, if the latter, than he needs to be called out on it, and would deserve a public campaign against him for his statement.
  14. Perhaps you can explain how folks on a message board posting their opinions, or fans calling advertisers of an organization they have an issue with have the ability to violate Tony LaRussa’s civil rights. @CaliSoxFanViaSWside I did follow the discussion, your statement makes no sense. Are you claiming a civil war or violent overthrow of the government to convict Tony LaRussa, based on a White Sox message board, is some type of realistic or credible threat of his civil rights?
  15. The post is about a Peter Gammons interview. If anyone is hysterical here, it's you clutching your pearls because "people are storming Steve Stone's Twitter account" to address his asinine comments. If Steve Stone had any sense he would have STFU and posted nothing yesterday, just as LaRussa has STFU with non MLB media since his hire. But Stone can't help himself, just like Tony couldn't help himself by repeatedly misconstruing legitimate protests, and demanding "sincerity" from adult players before deeming them worthy of expressing their opinions. This from the same drunken ass clown who stated “I accept full responsibility for my conduct, and assure everyone that I have learned a very valuable lesson and that this will never occur again” after his 2007 DUI conviction. The same drunken violent lunatic who has threatened physical harm to others over the years, including during his time here, his time in Saint Louis when he swung a fungo bat at a reporting asking about steroids, and his incident in Pittsburgh, confronting their broadcast team for calling out his bean-ball wars over the decades.
  16. Quote one post anyone made wishing anyone dead? Many want Reinsdorf and or LaRussa to step down. I wish drunk drivers didn't kill 36,500 Americans each year, and I wish habitual drunk drivers like Tony LaRussa were taken off the road permanently, versus being rewarded over far better options in all aspects via a pathetic and cringe-worthy crony hire.
  17. Just wait for the backlash when the four letter network announces “Jerry’s Guy”and current WMVP gambling segment host Mike North as part of the 2021 White Sox broadcast team. May as well rip the whole bandaid off announce the hiring of “Tony’s guys” Pitching Coach (Curt Schilling) Bullpen Coach (John Rocker) Hitting Coach (Aubrey Huff) Bench Coach (Dr. Ed Lewis)
  18. Tony “Too Legit To Quit” LaRussa Timeline: LaRussa arrested a second time for DUI. LaRussa contacts Jerry stating he’ll need a job once this leaks. Jerry agrees to hire him next season, and sics his paid for media dogs (Stone, Ozzie, Frank) on Renteria throughout the season. White Sox finish with best record since 2005. Jerry orders Hahn to fire Renteria, who Hahn just extended, and hire LaRussa.
  19. And it's not just today. It will continue to live on, through the court proceedings, the arrest report, the video of the arrest, the video of the blood test. The conviction and jail sentence. Not to mention the fact that he has lost the ability to hold players accountable, when he does not hold himself accountable, nor does Jerry Reinsdorf. Ken and Rick need to do what they should have done two weeks ago, and say it's us or him.
  20. They tried to make me go to rehab, but I said “no, no, no” Yes I’ve been black, but when I come back, you’ll know, know, know I ain’t got the time, and if Jerry thinks I’m fine.....
  21. Jerry Reinsdorf on Tony LaRussa returning to managing, February 2020: "Managing, it just takes an awful lot out of you. There's nothing else for him to accomplish. You know, he's won three World Series, and uh, he's in the Hall of Fame. And so, there's no reason for him to go back to managing, and have to try to deal with people 22 years old when you're 75 years old." 6:23 mark Tweet of the day goes to Kevin Kaduk To recap: 1. Reinsdorf floated La Russa trial balloon in media for multiple weeks. 2. Fans hated it. 3. At some undetermined point, Sox found out about about TLR DUI. 4. Despite Nos. 2 and 3, Reinsdorf goes over his GM and hires TLR anyway. No words. — Kevin Kaduk, Midway Minute (@KevinKaduk) November 10, 2020
