Not sure if he has say over Encarnacion's playing time. Hahn is his boss, Hahn gave him Grandal, Parrot and Mazara to play, and they are playing. -

As bad as Parrot and Mazara has played, the Grandal signing is the most damaging, in terms of continued declining production and contract albatross vs. the budget. -
Won't matter until the Division Series. Enough time to start Giolito and Keuchel again the following week. Still think Cease and Dunning, both on short leashes so likely bullpen games with Lopez on standby. Lopez looked the best in September, would consider depending on the matchup.

https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/10/07/williams-cowley-is-a-liar/ According to a major-league source, Cooper sidestepped Guillen — and the rest of the coaching staff — in June, going directly to Williams to beg for an extension. Cooper was breaking protocol because Williams had publicly stated two years before that the coaches’ fates were in Guillen’s hands. And why would Williams want to retain Cooper, who got an un-Sox-like four-year extension? The feeling among the coaches was that Cooper was all too eager to share with Williams what was being said about the GM and club on a daily basis. Cowley also wrote that Guillen went to Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf in July to fight for extension for his staff, but was told Cooper was already working on his. That’s when he “checked out”. And, according to the report, when Cooper became the manager for the last two games of the season, Guillen wrote Cooper a text that said: “You finally got what you wanted.”

Hahn’s three hitting acquisitions are performing worse than the existing players on the roster. Do you really think Hahn is going to allow Renteria to bench the 25%+ of 2020 payroll Hahn committed to fWAR, Parrot and Strep throat? Crap, Hahn was trying to salvage yet another first round draft bust yesterday, it blew up in his face two hours later.

Watched it live, Jose had his hand up indicating come in standing. A week ago, fans on both sides of town thought this series would only be for "pride". if there is a team playing worse than the White Sox, it's the Cubs, which scored 4 runs in a four game series in Pittsburgh, and were lucky to escape with a victory. Still think the Sox can sweep this weekend, just need to keep it close until the bullpen tonight and pwn the lefties thereafter. May try to make it to the stadium Sunday, wish Marz or Lagunitas were open for pre/post game. Saint Louis will need to go to Detroit for two on Monday, if within 2 games of any tie breaker. Can't believe they will get 58 or 60 games in this season.

Magic Number: Playoffs - 0; Division - 4

Can we expect a Nicky Delmonico call up today for the big series? You know, he could be a valuable piece for the playoff run.
