  1. And Carson Fulmer was the genius pick the prior year. Fulmer has had the better season this year, 0.2 WAR vs. Rodon’s -0.3. Makes no sense to use him until next year, besides rehab. Of course if Rick Renteria uses him and he sucks, it will be the manager’s fault, because nothing is ever anyone else’s fault. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/f/fulmeca01.shtml
  2. Nothing to do with “feelings”. this is the throw shit on the wall and hope something sticks that Sox fans have come to expect since 1980.
  3. Wrong. What makes no sense is putting a pitcher hurt all season, who has three relief appearances five years ago as his lone bullpen experience, to shove him out there because Hahn did absolutely nothing at the trade deadline, on the most meaningful games since the 2000s.
  4. Have to disagree with you on the third option (Rodon), he has appeared twice this entire season, as a starter, and shown nothing. I don’t care how many times he struck out Nicky Delmonico in Schaumburg, he serves no purpose in the playoffs, in a relief role. If this is just to give him one or two regular season appearances, I’m fine with it. We all saw what happens the past two days when you put a pitcher in a role and situation he has never faced before in meaningful ballgames.
  5. Need to start Engel in RF with Robert out. Provides good at bats as well. Parrot I don't mind because he is one of the few players hustling and producing this series.
  6. Like the return of Bummer, but what the hell is Rodon going to provide at this point, beyond, blowing bubbles in the bullpen. He sucked ass his only two starts.
  7. Very nice, great brewery, La Fin du Monde one of my favorite beers. Had an anchor this morning, my second beer likely a Revolution pour later today.
  8. They have stated publicly for years (decades?) the family has no interest in controlling the White Sox once Jerry steps down or passes, beyond perhaps a small minority ownership. There will likely be a new ownership group for the White Sox, though some of the current minority owners may hang onto their shares. No transition plan has been made public.
  9. Runs to hug perennial scumbag Rick Pitino at the 1:28 mark. Hope Dallas Keuchel comes up as big in the playoffs as Dallas Comegys (24 second mark) did his two games to start the Tourney at the Rosemont Horizon. Worked all the games as an Andy Frain, helped sneak a few friends in for the second game. OG One Shining Moment, Robert Montgomery Knight vs. Jim Boeheim for the title.
  10. 2021 Free Agent Andrelton Simmons called it a season with five games to go, surprising Joe Maddon. https://www.ocregister.com/2020/09/22/angels-surprised-as-andrelton-simmons-opts-out-of-playing-rest-of-season/ The news came as a surprise within the organization. No player or coach on any team had opted out of the season since Cardinals coach Willie McGee on Aug. 14. The last player to opt out was Mets pitcher Marcus Stroman on Aug. 10. “Driving home last night, Billy (Eppler, the Angels’ general manager) called me, wanted to make sure I was holding onto the wheel properly, and told me the news,” Manager Joe Maddon said during his pregame Zoom session with reporters Tuesday. Wonder if anyone will bail during the MLB postseason. Boston's starting goalie did in the bubble, though he was facing a much longer stretch in the bubble without family.
  11. I remember him and Roland, did a great job with the Sox including their second best season (99 wins, 1 shy of 1917, tied with 2005) in club history. Bill Veeck always had an eye for great talent, sad they were purged. Not many win 4 pennants and 2 World Series leading their organization.
  12. What are you drinking? I usually drink a 16 ounce beer with a meal, and a 12 oz before or after. Had a 3 Sheeps Uber Joe and a AleSmith IPA today, both very good. Cheers!
  13. Football is of the lowest common denominator, by the lowest common denominator, for the lowest common denominator. Most people these days have the attention span shorter than a gif. Baseball time has shrunk in this owner's contracted season, but it still has the peaks and valleys. They are just magnified due to the shrunk schedule. If Sox talk was the GM, they would go through more managers in a season than WalMart does across the nation. Thousands of posts "they don't care", "yell at the players", "nobody is trying". To many, verbal abuse "works" with their spouse, kids and pets, and football, so it should work with baseball. I mean who doesn't love going to work and getting yelled at or ridiculed by your boss. If you don't, than you should get fired, you're not tough enough, you're not good enough. The White Sox need to get Football tough. Bears Weather Tough. Ruff Ruff Ruff.
  14. Really. Jerry has handed out jobs to Ozzie's and Kenny's kids, once you are a friend of Jerry, you are a friend for life, and jobs are for life (Jerry's or yours). If a poll was slapped up here, both win win over RR for 2021 manager. There would be dumber hires than Ozney or KW Jr, here's Jerry Reinsdorf's first major move with the White Sox.
  15. The whole organization is inbred and bizarre. Not sure if Renteria had any say in the hand-me-down staff he was handed (Weekend @ Cooper's, Clueless Joe, Capra and Boston. Ricky's replacement candidates: Kenny Williams would angle for his son Kenny Williams Jr. to take over. VS. Ozzie and Jerry would be angling for Ozney. Look what the Bulls did this off-season, once Michael had enough of being the laughing stock of the league. He hired competent professionals to conduct a professional job search, OF QUALIFIED AND COMPETENT PROFESSIONAL CANDIDATES OUTSIDE OF THE ORGANIZATION. They hired one of the best executives in the sport. Said executive has full control of the organization. He looked at the current head coach, found him to be inadequate, and replaced him a respected coach. This is what professional organizations do. If Jerry still had final call over the Bulls, John Paxton would be their President, Gar Forman their General Manager and Jim Boylen their head coach. FACT! The only reason Michael made the change is he was so embarrassed by the laughing stock the team had become, the fan chants of Fire Gar Pax, The All Star game with no Bull's presence. Bull's Gar Pax Jim Boylen. The Sox have been run the same way, for 35 years since Reinsdorf purged the competent management Bill Veeck hired (Roland Hemond) and replaced him with ass-clown Hawk Harrelson. Hasn't changed since.
  16. Rick Hahn already gave him a contract extension. Love what the Bulls did this off-season once Jerry was out of the way. The same needs to happen at 35th and Shields. Bulls: Gar Pax Gone Hawks: McDonough Gone, Bowman TBD Cubs: Maddon Gone Bears & White Sox: Same shit, different decade.
  17. You need to walk him at that point. Hopefully this takes Gonzalez out of playoff roster contention. Lopez much better at this point for length.
  18. Wish it would have at least gotten to Anderson, rather have him at second to start the 10th.
  19. Have to swing at that one. Nice to see Colome up and able to go.
  20. Nice start to the inning by Yoan “He ought to be on the IL” Moncada.
  21. The opposite, you prepare a pitcher in the regular season, so that they are ready in the postseason. Ozzie or Ricky don’t wet their pants, let their pitchers work out of trouble. For the long term development of the pitcher. plus he’s not going in four days, he’s going in six days.
