Chris Getz Roster Transaction Tracker
South Side Hit Men replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Agreed, so I updated the thread title to transaction tracker for accuracy. Will track snapshots of the 40 man roster at year end and opening day. Will also track removals of Hahn’s remaining 19 players (16 active, 3 on 60 Day MLB IL) on the 40 man roster as they occur, until there are no players left. -
Chris Getz Roster Transaction Tracker
South Side Hit Men replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Here are the remaining 19 players on the 40 man roster plus IL List left from the Rick Hahn era (through August 22, 2023), which we can track until the last man standing. More will be added as new minor league players are added to the 40 Man Roster over the next several years, but they will be Chris Getz additions to the 40 man roster. Deivi Garcia is the answer to the trivia question as Rick Hahn’s last MLB roster player acquired before Tony’s Twi-Night of the Long Knives 8/22/23. Hahn acquired one more player, Minor League player Travis Swaggerty, after the Deivi Garcia claim, on August 15, 2023, one week before he met his fate. Travis was was released by Chris Getz on October 10, 2023, and later signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers. 19 Players Last Added to the 40 Man Roster + MLB 60 Day IL by Rick Hahn 2 Free Agents (2 MLB) 5 International Free Agents (1 MLB; 4 MiLB) 4 Trade Recipients (4 MLB) 7 Draft Selections (6 MLB; 1 MiLB) 1 Waiver Claim (1 MLB) MLB Level: 11 Active Roster + 3 Injured List. I honestly thought T Mobile went out of business years ago. I guess it was just US Cell which I only know of because of the stadium name.

It’s the second place team’s record that the “playoff/division winner” must exceed that is interesting to me. Guessed the first place team would just need 79 wins at year end to clinch the AL Central (all four teams below them would finish with 78 or less wins), which happened as Detroit did finish with 78 wins. Think the winner needs 80 plus wins this year, with second place 79 or less. Believe first will finish over .500, but they won’t necessarily need to do so with the other four teams finishing with 79 or less wins at year end. So the division got tougher by a game this season, IMO.

Both offenses were terrible last year (28th and 29th in runs), and are expected to be terrible in 2024. PECOTA: White Sox Projected runs 691 (ahead of Oakland 685, Colorado 679, Detroit 661 and Washington 656). FanGraphs: Detroit runs per game 4.46, ahead of the White Sox 4.30, Washington 4.27 and Oakland 4.22.

Has to be like working for Dwight Schrute.

I'm optimistic several pitchers will do well, especially under Bannister's tutelage. And not to take away anything from Crochet's outstanding performance, or the other pitchers beyond Kopech's shaky command. But let's also be measured in that it was cold today, you had shadows with the late start and the Tigers were 28th last year in runs scored with 661, or 20 runs ahead of 29th place White Sox (the Oakland AAA's in last). Hoping Crochet can stay healthy and sustain effective 80 + pitch outings for as long as feasible / possible without risking injury. Today will certainly help his confidence in terms of completing 6 and pitching really well with great command.

As long as Chuck Garfien is happy, we should all be happy.

Pritzker will sign a bill demanding the Sox move to Nashville by December 31st if that happens. Still feel he is both running the show and fixin' to get back to crack the 3,000 win mark. Will take two to three more years (he'll need 116 more wins), and be 82 when he does it if they slot him in for Saturday's game.

I like going to day games in nice weather, avoid crowds. Here are a few photos from last season in said situations in 2023 and 2019, the last two seasons I went to the park (not including 2020 Spring Training). Game One DH 9/12/23 - There were less than 100 for most of this game. Game Two DH 9/12/23 - Several Hundred to start game 2 at the regularly scheduled time. Friday September 27, 2019 - 4 PM - About 100 fans.

Jerry's not going to let him quit, not even on his deathbed. He made Kenny sit here with no chance at a President job for years, Hahn was rumored to want to quit as well. Jerry loves keeping under his thumb on the planation, be it FO, players, jabbing Minor League players and keeping them in slum conditions eating 7/11, etc.

I think Soroka and or Fedde can possibly pitch well, my question with them is can either break 100 IP, and will they keep having to burn through prospects early like Nastrini (4 AAA starts) to just make it through the season. They really should sign 1 or preferably 2 guys like Cueto, Hill, a few others, just to get 100 + innings in. Seems like they went very light on the pitching depth, and very heavy fretting about a dozen horseshit guys (pretty much every position player) that they continue to add (Grossman).
