A smart likable owner can reverse four plus decades of decline under Reinsdorf and recapture or exceed a 50% Chicago fan base. At minimum a weekly Sunday game on WGN TV (dual simulcast with the cable channel), plus the entire 162 game schedule on WSNS (Telemundo) or WGBO (Univision) to regain exposure in the Chicago market, as other non televised teams lose relevancy in a cord cutting environment. Everybody is welcome back to enjoy games. Cash accepted at ticket windows & concession stands, paper tickets issued by the White Sox (season tickets mailed or box office in person) accepted in addition to phone tickets. Paper print at home are not accepted to prevent duplicate / fraud issues. Commit to staying at Comiskey Park with a 2-3 decade lease extension, pledge to use a portion of the windfall profits with the extended lease to: Sponsor White Sox youth leagues throughout Chicago (CPD ballparks + Suburbs including equipment and or league / umpire costs). Restore Veeck era school tickets for students (perfect attendance and/or A or B level grades). Make parking (all games) and concessions (at minimum, rotating select weeknight specials) affordable. Properly staff the stadium and security to prevent / intercede quickly to halt the violent brawls and gun violence plaguing the stadium this season. Rename the ballpark Comiskey Park or White Sox Park, can still have a sponsor just underneath the marque like Wintrust proposed "Wintrust Field at Comiskey Park", which was the high bid rejected by Jerry Reinsdorf in scam for kickback payments from the sad current down arrow sponsor. Ownership, management and announcers stop taunting White Sox fans or former players as scum or worse. Owner hires baseball professionals to make baseball decisions, ownership does not micromanage or intercede. Hire a baseball VP of Marketing to cater to all Chicagoans, not just aging boomers. Host a 1983 Uniform Demolition Night.

If there was a true round robin schedule, that would be fine. There are two separate leagues, so one of two formats are fair and balanced. Also, expand to 28 player rosters (14 position players + 14 Pitchers) regardless of number of teams to ensure MLBPA buy-in. Divisional Format (1969-1993 Two Divisions) Single League (1901-1968 Format) Schedule: Expand or contract two teams to reach equal number of league teams. Interleague = All Star Game + World Series Two Fourteen Team Leagues (13 League Opponents X 12 Games = 156 Games) Two Sixteen Team Leagues (7 Division Opponents X 12 Games = 84) plus (8 Opposite Division Opponents X 10 Games = 80) for 164 Games Division Format: Expansion: Montreal & Nashville AL East: Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, Nashville, New York, Tampa, Toronto. AL West: Chicago, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Oakland, Texas, Seattle. NL East: Atlanta, Cincinnati, Miami, Montreal, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington. NL West: Arizona, Chicago, Colorado, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Saint Louis, San Diego, San Francisco. -

No, 1903, 1905-1993 baseball was strong, a large number of people watched the playoffs in person and on TV, and only division or league champions were eligible for the World Series. Jose had some adventures on the basepaths, Dusty says he is playing with a lump on his leg. Pito is my rooting interest this postseason. Watching Lance Lynn give up 7 runs in 1 2/3 would be a nice consolation prize if Houston can't take it. It's stupid Houston would need to beat Texas again, after beating them over 162 games. All North American professional and collegiate playoffs are garbage. -

Wow, their five "starting pitchers / bulk relievers" are weak to say the least. I don't really follow the playoffs closely, and skip NL games but might make an effort to hopefully enjoy Dodgers and Lance Lynn schadenfreude if he starts a game. In Clayton Kershaw 24 GS 13-5 2.46 131 2/3 IP Bobby Miller 22 GS 11-4 3.76 124 1/3 IP Lance Lynn 32 GS 13-11 5.73 183 2/3 IP Ryan Pepiot 3 GS 2-1 2.14 42 IP Emmet Sheehan 11 GS 4.92 60 1/3 IP N Out: Domestic Violence Suspension: Julio Urias (yet another Dodgers Domestic Violence Pitcher) 60 Day IL: Walter Buehler, Tony Gonsolin, Dustin May That's why I think October should be limited to two seven game series (LCS and WS) to reward the top four teams in baseball (return to a two division per league format post contraction or expansion). I'm not an Atlanta fan, but they should be the beneficiaries of this, not Arizona which finished 16 games back of the Dodgers during the 162 Game "Championship Regular Season". -

Down 9-0 is the one scenario where Lance Lynn I can think of where he can provide the Dodgers value by sucking it up and closing out the final five innings. -

A good number of Sox fans will just tune out, so lose market share here, go to a weaker economic situation and also lose a tax shakedown location in the process. s%*#, a good number here hate the Cubs more than they like the White Sox. There is zero short or long term interest for the other MLB owners to lose a Chicago, New York or Los Angeles team. if anything, I can see owners trying to block a Sox move to Nashville or another market they they can grift an $1B expansion fee from rather than hand the location free of charge to Jerry.

Would say the difference between the two league averages is the primary factor, with the difference between the two home ballparks also significant. The primary home ballpark difference beyond wind direction is the distance to CF (400 vs. 445), with a secondary difference would be more foul balls lost to outs behind home plate at the old park (60 vs. 86). Home Ballpark Factors: 2000: 110 Runs 125 Home Runs 1977: 99 Runs 80 Home Runs Home Ballpark Dimensions: 2000: 347 LF (Wall Height 8); 375 LF/CF; 400 CF (WH 8); 375 RF/CF; 347 RF (WH 8). 1000s Sqr Feet in Fair Territory 110; Foul Territory Sqr Feet behind Home Plate 60 1977: 349 LF (Wall Height 10); 382 LF/CF; 445 CF (WH 9); 382 RF/CF; 349 RF (WH 10). 1000s Sqr Feet in Fair Territory 110; Foul Territory Sqr Feet behind Home Plate 86 American League Season Factors (Runs 17.0% and Home Runs 33.3% Higher 2000 vs. 1977 Leaguewide): 2000: 5.30 Average Runs per Team/Game (White Sox 6.04 or 14.0% higher); 192 Home Runs per Team/Season (White Sox 216 or 12.5% higher) 1977: 4.53 Average Runs per Team/Game (White Sox 5.21 or 15.0% Higher); 144 Home Runs per Team/Season (White Sox 192 or 33.3% higher) -

According to Fangraphs metrics, it was the fourth best hitting team in White Sox history, and I believe the third in your lifetime. The greatest and most enjoyable offense, team and owner in my lifetime has the top spot. Was surprised of the fifth spot. Also somewhat surprised all but 29 White Sox teams finished below average offensively. White Sox All Time Best Offensive Seasons (Sorted by offense, 3rd column from the right) 86.8 1977 77.7 1994 58.6 1901 58.5 2000 56.7 2021 55.3 1995 55.1 1996 44.4 1981 40.1 2002 37.7 1919 -
MLB Trade Rumors Projected 2024 Arbitration Salaries
South Side Hit Men replied to Bob Sacamano's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I only found out about it looking at White Sox stats on Fangraphs where I take it they didn’t learn about his change of heart and listed him as Jackson Frazier. I was like who the hell is this? They changed his name back to Clint Frazier before the season ended, but the link to Jackson Frazier remains. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/jackson-frazier/15983/stats?position=OF&season=2020 -
I remembered him from a clip someone sent me of some college chick spitting on him. I believed he liked it as well. I believe he is some sort of provocateur. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11351011/amp/Shocking-moment-Penn-State-student-SPITS-Alex-Stein-protest-campus-comedy-event.html

Lindsay responds. Also, apparently she was paid $300K by her insurance company for this incident prior to the settlement. Seems wise to stay away from both at this stage.

MLB Trade Rumors Projected 2024 Arbitration Salaries
South Side Hit Men replied to Bob Sacamano's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I realize most on Soxtalk hate Andrew Vaughn, but I hope he is rewarded, had a decent season (1.0 bWAR) and like Pito wants to play every single game. Then I look at Kopech and Crochet and think WTF. Trayce Thompson is the only non Robert capable of fielding CF on the 40 man. I believe the thought was Colas could cover in CF on Luis’ off days. Hope Getz can rectify that, bring in a solid fourth OF who can play CF and RF and hit better than .600 OPS, preferably in the .700s. -

I want no new long term commitments under this front office, which will be replaced once the estate sale and new owners are approved, with the possible exceptions of Montgomery or Robert Jr. They don't need another "World's Richest White Sox Contract" after getting rid of Grandal, and stuck with four more years of backloaded Benintendi, and have no contention window for at least 2-3 more years, with Jerry refusing to enter into any serious player free agents., to the point of making collusion type statements about Ohtani at the Getz press conference. I hope the MLBPA files a grievance against Jerry Reinsdorf and the Chicago White Sox organization. -

Yes, my post was in reference to if Jerry moved to TB in 1988. I believe Chicago would have funded a stadium under Richie Daley and Edgar/Ryan. Today, an expansion team would be blocked by the Cubs and possibly Milwaukee of northern suburbs were considered, and have trouble finding government funding, the latter of which is a good development. That said, economically, even 1/3 - 2/5 of the Chicago market is larger than the current American targets (Las Vegas, Nashville, Charlotte, Portland, Salt Lake City).

Andrew Vaughn and Eloy: what's the plan here?
South Side Hit Men replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Agreed regarding Moncada. Over 2 out of 3 plate appearances result in outs, so taking extra bases either via power or speed is important since probability dictates a team will not score a run during a random inning. Under 1/3 * Under 1/3 * Under 1/3 * Under 1/3 = under 1.2% chance of scoring a run if four walks / hits are required to do so one base at a time assuming four league average batters. Extra base hits or extra bases via base running drastically increases run expectation within an inning. -
If you must watch the NFL, there are up to 31 better alternatives than rooting for the adult species of cubs. Family and other old timers I knew over the years hated Halas and the Bears, especially after the Cardinals were forced to move to Saint Louis. They tried moving to Evanston, but Halas blocked that just as Halas, Marshall and Mara banned black players after the success of Cardinals star Duke Slater. Proud to have been a Steelers and Packers fan in the 1970s - 1990s before I stopped following the sport. #NeverBears
