  1. Question for you or the other insiders? Who brought home the red stapler last Tuesday, Rick or Kenny? Steve Stone on the Score now, will report the extent of his kissing Jerry and Getz' ass if higher than expected.
  2. A DFA of Clevinger would cause me to reconsider abandoning the team.
  3. Regardless of Getz' qualification or lack thereof, the primary issue is the fact an external person is far better suited at assessing and implementing required changes, and getting buy in via proven success in a quality organization with superior results. Changes if any desired by Getz will be myopic based on his limited experience. Getz indicates Jerry does not desire a change. He only fired Kenny and Rick due to the horrendous PR and surveys indicating further substantial erosion of the season ticket numbers, already seriously impacted after the far less egregious 2022 debacle.
  4. It's a positive in Jerry's mind. He created the EVP position not for strategic planning or organization management but rather as a result of the blowup of Ozzie vs. Kenny in 2012 and to keep "his son" and his friend's son on the payroll. Also, Jerry has no interest of poaching anyone from any external organization as the Chris Getz hire proves, and also has no interest in other teams poaching his staff, as proved by the blocking of Kenny and Rick and likely others to pursue external opportunities. Someone needs to challenge baseball's anti-trust exemption to break these unfair labor rules. People should be able to get a job with any organization they are qualified, be it a minor league player trying to avoid Jerry's mandated covid jab, or a front office person looking to leave a toxic organization like the White Sox.
  5. Rick Hahn's poison pill of $4M guaranteed for 2024 makes this a no go from any team. Mike Clevinger is not a $30M pitcher, which is the prorated share of $1.3M 2023 and $4M 2024 ($5.3M X 6 months).
  6. The Special Advisor Troika of Tony La Russa, Dayton Moore and Dave Stewart will be Chef's Kiss.
  7. I believe the entire interview process was Heads Getz, Tails Haber.
  8. Relevant for coverup reasons by the CTU/CPS installed Mayor. She's funded by city residents, she should suffer the same consequences. Still have nothing on the actual 26 year old shooter, perhaps she's CTU/CPS as well or connected politically via a different path.
  9. Yep, schadenfreude with the clown show today and clean slate starting September 1st. People need to really consider cancelling their 2024 Season Tickets. Will be playing this the next time White Sox Baseball has a chance to be relevant after Jerry is no longer Chairman Cow.
  10. Are you sure this is official? I don't see the AJ Hinch official watermark of the Chicago White Sox.
  11. A few new answers from this article https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2023/8/30/23852431/what-we-know-and-dont-about-the-white-sox-game-shooting (On iphone click Sun Times & Athletic article links and select Reader (aA upper left) to access without login). 42 year old shot twice (1 through her thigh, 1 entered her calf lodged in shin) 42 CPS employee lives in Montgomery, Illinois (A CPS violation of residency rules) ATF has joined the investigation to assist CPD processing ballistic evidence. A police report was released or obtained, but little information is contained in it. Neither the Sox or CPD has provided any indication when further information will be released.
  12. 3;30 pm Press Conference. Sadly, it is to announce his promotion and not his firing. Fire Chris Getz (4-6 .400 and counting).
  13. In the good news department, Billy Hamilton signed a minor league deal with Tampa Bay yesterday, and will be eligible for postseason play, though it will require a commissioner exemption to replace an injured player unless he is added to the 40 man roster today. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/08/rays-billy-hamilton-agree-to-minor-league-deal.html Sadly, their current 40 man roster is full, but Manuel Margot is recovering from elbow surgery performed in mid August, and this move in part is insurance in the event he has issues returning before year end, They currently have four active OFers on their current 40 man roster. https://www.mlb.com/rays/roster/40-man
  14. If it’s not Cody Asche, and solely Cody Asche, the banner will be an epic failure on the scale of the Rick Hahn Era and the Chris Getz Era.
  15. Getz can claim he didn’t know about the Selig Rule. That’s why they are also bringing in Tony, to help Getz learn the rules. Well, the unwritten rules. ”I know all the rules, but the rules did not know me……”
  16. The Sox are to file a succession plan to include diverse individuals for future leadership positions. https://theathletic.com/2957093/2021/11/15/mlb-makes-changes-to-selig-rule-focused-on-internal-promotions/ 1. Any club making an internal promotion for a senior baseball operations position must provide the Commissioner’s Office with a succession plan for all of the club’s senior baseball operations positions. That plan requires the club to include diverse individuals for future leadership positions. 2. In the event of a non-diverse internal promotion, it’s the Commissioner’s expectation that a diverse individual will be promoted, or hired, to a vacancy created by the promotion. 3. A club must provide the Commissioner’s Office with notice of the internal promotion and the rationale for not conducting an external or internal interview process. Ironically this comes on the heels of Kenny Williams’ comments revealing disappointment in MLB’s lack of progress, getting fired, and then having an unqualified White guy replace him. https://theathletic.com/2956711/2021/11/15/at-gm-meetings-white-soxs-ken-williams-expresses-frustration-disappointment-with-mlbs-lack-of-progress-in-front-office-diversity/ “When hiring top baseball executives, teams continue to go almost exclusively with White males, even when in some cases candidates from underrepresented groups might be more qualified.” Williams, 57, said that before signing his most recent contract in early 2020, he told White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf it would be his last. Part of the reason, he said, was “my dismay with the industry I’ve given my life to not valuing people that look like me enough.” What rankles Williams most in recent years is a double standard: Teams place less emphasis on experience when promoting certain White men to top executive positions, yet cite a lack of experience when denying those same opportunities to people of color and women. “As I told the group, I’m not saying that someone in that room shouldn’t be there,” Williams said. “I’m saying give others an opportunity.”
  17. I am not sure what he'll do next year, but DFAing him when the chance he can produce for your team, and perhaps even net you a prospect or two for a team in need is worth the sunk cost. There is a legitimate chance he can produce at a decent to good level. Yoan is one of the few to put up a 5 bWAR season on the team, I believe Luis Robert is the only one still here.
  18. You must be new here, a few are the primary perpetrators on the board. For example, people lacking the ability to spell four letter English names.
  19. Ron, That's not the point. If the Selig rule is still in place, legitimate interviews should be conducted, and they should include candidates under the terms of the rule for manager, assistant GM and GM. If not, than scrap the rule. It's more insulting to qualified candidates to be passed over for people with absolutely zero qualifications like Chris Getz, or zero relevancy over a decade like Tony La Russa, and pretend others were given a legitimate opportunity, or to treat Willie Harris like Token on South Park. I assume most teams actually take the time to conduct a legitimate interview process, to learn about others, learn about how other organizations conduct business, and perhaps improve their internal processes or at least consider improvement based on what they learned. It's apparent the organization we at least like or support due to family or whatever is not conducting legitimate interviews, not because they are racist but due to incompetence and lack of ability or interest to operate like a normal business in the 21st century (or even second half of the 20th century).
  20. So hope this is the case, as well as Dayton Moore so that media unload on this farce to the point that casual fans take notice. The Sun Times and Tribune should join the Atlantic and pull their coverage as this team needs to be ignored until their is new ownership and competent leadership.
  21. What is weak is your personal insults, cowardice, and whining to Cali about his valid posts. Do not address me in this manner again. Yes, there seems to be reason(s) why many of the details have not been released. Hopefully we can get a full understanding of what occurred, and the person responsible and the Chicago White Sox are held accountable for their actions and inactions on Friday.
  22. Moncada may be finally healthy, and is hitting much better than at any time since before he was first injured in mid April (.889 OPS vs. .753 in August). Eloy has only missed 4 consecutive games twice since June, though he like most White Sox need to perform significantly better. Benintendi finally has hit a few home runs, and may possibly hit 10 or more in future seasons, making the best out of a bad situation. Gregory Santos and Jesse Scholtens have outperformed expectations entering the season, and may be valuable contributors on future teams. Kenny Williams and Rick Hahn are gone. There is a chance Tony La Russa and or Dayton Moore will not serve the White Sox in an official capacity, Tony after his initial contract expires in October. Everyday we are another day closer to having a new owner of the Chicago White Sox.
