I guess Cease is supposed to be good, but after the sell off of anyone decent from the staff, this is how it was going to be. Just hard living through it. Game started early so didn't bother, I'm done with the team period until Getz is no longer interim or permanent GM or EVP. Same if Tony is announced as having a formal role. Not wasting more time on this s%*#. Perhaps I'll be interested in baseball. Jerry needs to go, that's the bottom line, and fans need to stop giving him a penny.
-
He is not going anywhere. Jerry isn't paying at least three people (KW, RH and PG) not to work in 2024. Only did it to try to stem further season ticket bleeding, but hopefully the Getz rumors and fan response somehow changes that plan. Glad the media is saying he is not qualified, hopefully the ST holders take note.

Bump. Still employed, still the front runner for a 1 or 2 level promotion despite being an absolute failure in the limited areas under his responsibility.

Nah, "making" the 10-12 team farcical playoffs with the second highest payroll each season, worried more about the "luxury" tax than fielding a World Series team is what's going on there. Tampa has owned the Yankees and that division over the past decade with both hands tied behind their backs. Only full playoff series won over the 11 years were over pathetic AL Central teams. Dodgers have the highest payroll but consistently compete for a WS after they dumped worthless Donnie Baseball. Houston is the other team with consistent World Series aspirations. Those are the teams to emulate. Houston's average payroll over this span is within $9M of the White Sox ($124 vs. $115), so perhaps this is the more realistic target. I'd keep my right arm and shitcan Cashman, but I'm glad he is there so he can build expensive piles of s%*# which the City and State of New York and their fans deserve. Yankees during the past Ten Years (MLB Payroll Rank) 2013 (1) No Playoffs - 12 Games Back 2014 (2) No Playoffs - 12 Games Back 2015 (2) Lost Wild Card Game vs. Houston 2016 (2) No Playoffs - Fourth Place 2017 (4) Beat Twins in Wild Card Game and Cleveland in Division Series. Lost to Houston 2018 (6) Beat Oakland in Wild Card Game, lost to Boston in Division Series. 2019 (3) Beat Twins in Division Series, Lost to Houston in the ALCS. 2020 (1) Beat Cleveland in Wild Card Series, lost to Tampa in Division Series. 2021 (2) Lost Wild Card Game to Boston 2022 (3) Beat Guardians in Division Series, Swept by Houston. 2023 (2) No Playoffs - Likely Last Place and under .500. But they are clean shaven. Ballgame Over, Series Over, Season Over Yankees Lose, THHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA Yankees LOOOOSSSSSEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

The Sox suck because they have little talent. Tony cared and knew more about the unwritten rules than the written rules, and made stupid decisions in ballgames. They weren't a joke because players where chains, they released a hip hop documentary, they had pitchers cuss on the mound, or allowed players to wear facial hair. The Yankees haven't won anything for over a decade clinging to these outdated George Steinbrenner facial hair rules. This is the same organization paying scum like Josh Donaldson $21M. A player can't control an organization, but he can control how he conducts himself. Between trashing the Sox and his teammates on the way out, and his wife or whoever bitching about the Sox cutting off her free babysitting service indicates someone who needs improvement and self-reflection. Important attributes such as professional comportment, being a good teammate and respecting the clubhouse go a long way. Perhaps he wouldn't be going year to year on minor league deals if he concentrated on what he should do rather than focus on others. -
I realize this was an issue early in the year and it's only been a few days for Sosa and Lee, but the two plus Colas have played regularly since their recent call ups, and I don't expect it to change baring an injury. Also believe the previous and current FO discuss the lineups and agree on playing time.

Because he shaved his beard off? He wasn't accountable with his beard? He is a fringe MLB player, and dumb to pop off against his former teammates. -

2023 White Sox EVP / GM Qualifications Leaderboard: Drake > Hahn > La Russa > Getz/Moore -
That wasn’t the case for the White Sox until Jerry bought the team. Chicago attendance and performance were equivalent for both teams. The A’s were the premier Bay Area team until the Giants built their new stadium. The Angels and Mets were always the Angels and Mets, beyond a few magical seasons. The A’s would have done well if they had didn’t have the worst current MLB owner (Loria previous worst owner), and they accepted one of the two viable Bay Area options.

He and Eloy are and will likely always be below average DH/1B types. If Andrew improves through his peak year, average 1B will likely be his ceiling. Then again all but seven players remaining are scrubs or AAA post deadline. This is far and away the worst team Rick Hahn ever assembled. He also saved the Pittsburgh Penguins from moving and built the core for a Stanley Cup Dynasty with Mario and the rest. -
Threats from who? The Team? Cringe Jerry Reinsdorf fans? Thanks for your efforts, they weren't unnoticed, came through loud and clear on the radio broadcast.

Other teams bad contracts with 1 or 2 years left
South Side Hit Men replied to baseball_gal_aly's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Doubtful any team would want without something approaching his 5.1 WAR .915 OPS 2019 season, which is never going to happen. He needs to significantly improve his health and performance to reach .750 next year. Sunk Cost: $24.8M in 2024 + $5.0M 2025 Buyout ($20M more to extend and play in 2025). He will be owed $8M + $5M at the 2024 deadline, if he's playing well and the Sox eat some/all money, they could get something in return, better than a pre deadline DFA IMO. -

Better for the slim hope Yoan is healthy and be flipped for something next July vs. getting new suckage, especially if signed beyond 2024. He will be motivated for a new contract, time will tell if his body and mind will allow it. -
Announced Paid Attendance 13,247. YTD 1,319,337 with 19 home dates remaining. The Sox are going to need a hell of a lot better candidate than Chris Getz to stop the bleeding and a possible new all time low at the new stadium. Comiskey Park II Attendance Lows - Full seasons + no Government COVID Restrictions: 1999 1,338,851 (Post White Flag Trade) 1998 1,391,146 (Post White Flag Trade) 2018 1,608,817 (Tanking) 2017 1,629,470 (Tanking) 2019 1,649,775 (Tanking) 2014 1,650,821 (2013-2014 Suckage) 1996 1,676,403 (Post 1994 Cancellation) 2002 1,676,911 (Corpse Ball)
