  1. Kenyan went on about shaving his beard to win for the Yankees. Didn’t contribute overall here (0.0 fWAR). The Sox sent the Yankees to last place where they belong. I hope the Sox go into Wrigley and take both games to ruin the Cubs chances. The Sox lost both home games, but Lynn is thankfully gone (7 earned runs in 4 2/3 innings), and Kopech who has been hands down their worst starter this season also won’t face them. Toussaint and Clevinger are slated to start unless they change things with the off day today.
  2. This is how the Sox celebrated Fans and Fall last off-season.
  3. Had a tough decision for my win on August 8, 2023. I considered Greg Walker but ended up going with a rare 1990s player, since I didn't watch much baseball and boycotted the new stadium beyond opening night tickets and free tickets late in the decade.

I selected Jack McDowell to honor, for his great pitching on behalf of the team including a playoff team and a should have been World Series team before Jerry Reinsdorf destroyed the hopes and dreams of not only White Sox and Montreal Expos fans, but baseball fans around the world. I also selected Jack McDowell for exposing lifetime cheater Tony La Russa, for his elaborate schemes of stealing signs from the scoreboard before going onto much larger cheating schemes with Balco, the Oakland Athletics and the Saint Louis Cardinals.

Does not include days I tied for first but for whatever reason was placed second / awarded Silver:

    • 3/23/21 (7 bmags)
    • 9/11/22 (16 Fathom)
    • 9/19/22 (13 Balta)
  4. "I’m wearing my shades so that you guys don’t see the shock in my eyes," Williams said. "It is disappointing. I’d be lying to you if I said anything other than that. "But Jerry (Reinsdorf, team chairman) really stepped up and stepped up in a fashion that is unprecedented. We all in that clubhouse talked about it this morning. We felt like we actually were potentially could close a deal today with him. We thought we were the high offer on the table, and we still feel — if the reports are accurate — we still feel that there was more potential for him to make more here then that reported deal." - Kenny Williams, January 4, 2024, on the White Sox offer of $750 million, or $2,000,000 payable annually over the next 375 years.
  5. I'll have to try it, usually pick up their Italian Beef which is very good. Can make a few combos. Paired of course with Marconi's Hot Giardiniera.
  6. Reported as fake news in the game thread, as his name was displayed the second inning he took the mound. That said, would have been OK with it.
  7. American League - Toronto Blue Jays National League - Colorado Rockies and Montreal Expos and where they kidnapped. When Grifol was asked if Shaw was the new closer over Santos His response was "Let me sleep on it, baby baby let me sleep on it. Let me sleep on it, I'll give you an answer in the morning." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C11MzbEcHlw/
  8. I would have created one but don’t watch Clevinger games. Entering Opening Day Norridge Caputo’s on Harlem and Montrose. Shopped at their OG location on Wrightwood & Harlem since the 1980s.
  9. Hope fans reciprocate and don’t buy tickets for the 2024 season or beyond without a completely new owner, BOD and C Suite.
  10. People wanted Ricky gone including Ozzie, Garfien and Stone, and got the two replacement managers they deserved. / thread
  11. My post addressed the Katz comment alone. I don’t give a rats ass about Lynn beyond celebrating the fact he is gone. Lance Lynn pitched like garbage because he is 340 lbs of garbage, and he quiet quit since Houston obliterated his ass in the one meaningful game Lynn pitched. Katz is not to blame for it.
  12. Yes, but if they were absolute garbage, like most of the hitters and much of the remaining staff, nobody would want them. We can revisit in October to see if there is any noticeable change in any of these pitchers the rest of the year beyond perhaps Lynn giving a f*** in LA. I hate the Dodgers, so I hope he pitches in October and gets bludgeoned like he did against Houston.
  13. Their position players are worse, and the league only wanted one of them. The Sox were able to trade half their pitching staff. I doubt there will be a substantial difference between their performance over the final two months and what they did the first four months. Lynn may be the exception primarily because he may actually give a f*** which should of been the case here but wasn’t unless someone bunted against him. Tanner Banks Touki Toussaint Jesse Scholtens Brian Shaw Declan Cronin Lane Ramsey Brent Honeywell Jr. Jose Ruiz Alex Colome Sammy Peralta Injured Liam and Crochet Mike Maddux or Leo Mazzone wouldn’t be able to do much more with this staff before or after the deadline.
  14. MLB didn’t “clear” anything. They simply decided not to suspend him and concluded their investigation without comment. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-announces-completion-of-mike-clevinger-investigation Would wager if there were extra zeros on his deal like Bauer’s, there would have been a different outcome.
  15. November 15, 2023 Rick Hahn announces changes to White Sox’ coaching staff. Names xxxx xxxxxxx as new pitching coach. “He is the Pedro Grifol of pitching coaches, and that’s what we looked for to make the necessary adjustments to contend in 2024.” Welcome a new FO to revamp everything, but Katz is far down the list in terms of trying to fix this organization piece mail , and the alternative will most certainly be worse with Hahn’s track record.
  16. Inherited Roland Hemond and post Hawk Larry Himes were the exceptions. Jerry’s first major hire was Hawk Harrelson to replace Roland. That didn’t even last one season. Himes built the lone successful player core in Reinsdorf’s near half century of ownership. Of course Larry was fired for not kissing Jerry’s ass. That’s all one needs to know as to why the Sox went from a 50/50 parity in this town to 1/3 vs. 2/3. Reinsdorf’s group actually paid more for the Sox ($20M) than the Tribune did for the Cubs ($19M).
  17. Rick Hahn (Position Player) and Kenyan Middleton (Bullpen Pitcher) are both telling the truth.
  18. Only good thing tonight beyond Robert's HR and Cronin was paid attendance was under 26,500 for this "premium" game. Based on a search of the Milwaukee game tickets, it looks like they will not break 30,000 the rest of the season. If Hahn works for the White Sox in November 2023, attendance will absolutely crater next season.
  19. Len says the Sox are 0-10 when Sox pitchers strikeout 14 or more hitters, will be 0-11 without a comeback. Four of these games were extra innings.
