The inaction with TLR
-
-
Really wonder why they aren’t as involved in the DR
-
Would like to think Hahn feels the same way but Jerry doesn’t believe in paying a bunch of 15 & 16 year old with potential to help you make more money..
-
So tired of hearing about how it makes the central that much easier. Wish we had an owner/front office who were fully committed to going all in every year...
-
Waiting for the “who cares about the Padres” posts when they or the Dodgers are the teams the Sox would have to face in the World Series...
-
So Quintana signs on what day this week
-
Welp here’s to hoping Kopech is as good if not better than Castillo and Vaughn is a stud
-
Wait so they won’t trade potential stars in Vaughn/Kopech for a proven star in Castillo? That makes no sense even for Jerry who “wants to win”
-
Pipe dream because Sox are unwilling to part with Kopech/Vaughn? If the Yankees end up with him that vaults them up to favorites in the AL...
-
I thought the goal is to win a World Series every year? Castillo helps you do that now and for the next 2 years. During that time the White Sox can still make draft picks and still sign IFA... So I don’t understand the hesitation here guys. And no I’m not saying trade every piece of the system but to get a really good player in return you’ll have to give up something, Castillo would be worth it
-
Kopech and Madrigal would be the centerpieces for me
-
Luis Castillo would be one of them
-
We’re not sacrificing the entire future here guys! Castillo isn’t a 38 year old SP with one year left on his contract. Yes Vaughn, Kopech, Madrigal could be great for years but are unknown - you know damn well what you’re getting with Castillo and again Abreu, Grandal, and Kuechel’s age matter right now. The Sox can still build up their farm trading for Castillo doesn’t stop you from doing this. You gotta make this deal
-
We’re talking about Tanaka, Quintana, Odorizzi, Richards while the Yankees are talking about Luis Castillo... I understand the Yankees may be a little bit more desperate because after Cole it’s really hard to get a read on the rest of their rotation (you don’t know with Kluber yet). But the Sox can’t sit on their hands here, if the Yankees get Castillo for a haul of prospects then that makes them the favorites in the AL, Sox need to pounce and get a bigger name than the free agent number 4-5 starters. It’ll cost a lot but the Sox aren’t in a position to hoard prospects especially considering Lynn is on a 1 year deal, Abreu and Grandal are a year older - it’s time to go all in. Let’s stop talking about the mediocre number 4s
-
Yes 1000000%
-
I would hope so
-
If the Yankees give up Dominguez the Sox can’t top that without Kopech AND Vaughn
-
Luis Castillo is 28 and a top 15 pitcher plus it’s not like they can’t sign/draft pitchers going forward. Castillo helps you win now and in the future.
-
This would not be good for the Sox - Sox should jump in here price will be expensive but he’s a difference maker you give up a lot for.
-
Yeah Castillo gives them the best rotation in baseball in my opinion but to beat out the Padres, Rays, Dodgers package Sox are gonna have to give up a lot but again I think it’s worth it
-
Exactly my thoughts although I think Vaughn is gonna take but I’d gladly take Luis Castillo over Andrew Vaughn
-
My guess is they’re probably asking for Vaughn and Kopech which is a lot for most people but Castillo is really damn good.

Yeah one of the foodies or NSC said a trade for Gallen was on the table with Madrigal included but turned down, would love to see Gallen slot into the 3rd SP spot
