  1. They don’t have and haven’t had a natural CF since Carlos Beltran.
  2. Springer would be smart to just wait on the Mets. That’s his best case scenario, they have the money, offer him the chance to play his natural position, a chance to win (yes the Mets have a chance to win). I just don’t see Jerry doing everything it takes to secure Springer. He’s gonna go to the Mets, makes too much sense for him.
  3. And let’s be real Uncle Stevie would LOVE nothing more than to stick it to Jerry. I just, off nothing more than feelings and logic, give the Sox about a 20% chance of actually signing Springer. And I truly feel like the LaRussa stuff despite a solid staff really hinders their moves this offseason in free agency.
  4. He’s probably listening to the Sox offers but why wouldn’t he go to the Mets? They offer him a starting spot in his natural position and can offer him the most money. If I were him, wait it out bring the Sox’s best offer to the Mets and tell them to beat it and they probably will
  5. Just don’t see Hahn trading Vaughn AND Kopech which is where talks begin. I think the Padres or Dodgers are more prepared to give up their top guys for Snell than the Sox are.
  6. Selfishness and arrogance of Jerry you mean, again if you go back to the press conference Tony said Jerry was the one to approach him first. Jerry challenged him to come back. This is Jerry’s doing and Jerry’s doing only. It’s a huge mess that I hope frankly blows up so horribly in the chairman’s face.
  7. It’s clear there is so much division on this hire basically Jerry & probably Kenny vs Everybody Else. I truly hope someone in that organization stands up to Jerry or the media starts talking to players and this blows up in his face, I feel like this is the only way a change is made.
  8. If you get in depth he will respond to you in due time, I’ve had a good conversation with him, he’s been really open about everything that he can be open about. The main thing I got was that he doesn’t know if TLR will be managing the Sox in 2021 but reiterated he’s not making the baseball decisions.
  9. Just a heads up, Jerry is expecting all this negative talk to go away within the next couple weeks so if you really are fed up with this trash gotta keep bringing the heat
  10. As much as I would love for La Russa to quit or get fired, the Sox knew he was charged and still hired him, why would they (they being Jerry) fire him
  11. Well excuse me for coming up with some outlandish ideas to try and make this team into a contender, I think this instantly makes us the best team in the AL, I did say add Stroman as well, which if that’s the case Cease is totally expendable
  12. Let’s go: Andrew Vaughn and Dylan Cease for Nolan Arenado move Moncada back to 2B Nick Madrigal and Jared Kelley for Michael Conforto Sign Brantley and Stroman C - Grandal/Collins 1B - Abreu 2B - Moncada SS - TA/Leury 3B - Arenado LF - Eloy/Brantley CF - Robert/Engel RF - Conforto DH - Brantley
  13. For sure but I’m saying in regards to a previous post mentioned DeGrom which no way would happen. I’m looking at let’s say the top 20 pitchers in baseball who would really slot in nicely behind or even in front of Giolito. Vaughn is going to be a stud but it’s a lot easier to find a 1B/DH slugger than it is to find a top line starter who is still young. I think if the Sox are offering Vaughn and Cease for Woodruff they’re going to listen, considering Cease could slot into their rotation now and Vaughn will be ready by mid season if not to start the season at 1B for them. It’s a lot to give up but I’d do it if I’m Rick Hahn.
  14. I mentioned it previously but anybody that makes a true difference is gonna cost Vaughn, I think a Brandon Woodruff is attainable and would be a nice upgrade considering the Sox fill their RF/DH role
  15. Trust me I don’t either but they need a legit top line starter which there are only 2 available in FA (Bauer/Stroman) their next best option would have to come via trade. If the Mets were to give up DeGrom the Padres have all the prospects to make that happen so that would be a pipe dream. I feel like Woodruff would slot perfectly right behind Giolito with control as well, I would much rather just pay money for Bauer/Stroman and keep Vaughn but Jerry has already Reinsdorfed once this offseason he’ll probably do it again and cheap out on us.
  16. Let’s say the Sox don’t get Bauer/Stroman and refuse to give up a 2nd rounder for Gausman (Which I wouldn’t anyways) sign Springer & Brantley then trade Vaughn, Cease, and say Luis Gonzalez for Brandon Woodruff we down with that offseason?
  17. I’ve never sport hated someone more than I do Jerry Reinsdorf who is truly a POS. If he never lucked in to Michael Jordan we’d probably be talking about one of the worst owners in sports. I cannot wait til the day he’s no longer the owner of my favorite team. We deserve better for investing so much time into this team to only get shitted on by Reinsdorf.
  18. Maybe I’m in the minority but I would believe while your team is in contention and fixing a huge position of need with a top 5-10 player at that position in baseball would be a smart move. I understand the concern over the contract/years left but the Sox wouldn’t be the first team to make such a move and Conforto for Cease would be a risk I’m gladly willing to take. Unfortunately the Sox don’t have the scouting/player development that the Rays do, don’t spend money like the Dodgers, and don’t have the prospect capital like the Padres, or aren’t as aggressive as let’s say the Blue Jays/Braves/Phillies so moves like these are what they’re left with. They’re gonna have to make tough decisions to round out their roster. In regards to pitching wins, of course it does until you don’t hit (Cubs, Sox, Reds, Indians).
  19. I’d throw Dunning in there too - While Cease could have a Giolito type offseason where he figures it out (which I’m hoping for) I still am not interested in him trying to figure it out here, not during the Sox contending window. If a player at a position of need is attainable and Cease is the ask you make the move and this is under the assumption Hahn is planing on signing a Stroman/Gausman/Bauer which I think they very likely end up with one of those 3.
  20. I understand who Conforto’s agent but you can look as far back as last season Mookie Betts forgoing his free agency, Yelich same thing - the 2 best right fielders in baseball. The Sox aren’t in this position anymore where they can sit on their hands and let these superstar/star players slip through the cracks, unfortunately the tough decisions to get rid of young high ceiling guys is upon us. I would GLADLY get rid of Cease for “1 year” of Conforto
  21. This is the most crucial offseason in the last 15 years TBH, I understand it’s Jerry Reinsdorf’s money and he’s gonna do what he wants with it but damnit if he limits the spending now I have no hope in the front office to actually finish the job.
