Heyman live chat at B/R noon central time
Rey21 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Trade Winds 2024
There’s teams we’re not talking about either DBacks, Red Sox, Cubs, Brewers, Mariners could trade for Crochet and swap one of their pitchers for a big bat, Guardians, Rays, etc. Crochet being controllable opens up so many possibilities for teams who aren’t just looking for this year but next also -

Well we all know the Sox have players other teams want, those other teams are calling/texting Chris Getz and Josh Barfield shooting the sh*t asking what they’d need in return for Robert, Crochet, Fedde, Kopech, Brebia, Pham, etc, hell probably even as you read this post Getz just got a text. Think it’s fair to assume they’ve spoken to every team in playoff contention about a number of possibilities and none of those teams have met the asking price to move those players right now. -
That’s fine with me I’m just saying if the O’s are asking for him it’s gotta start with Mayo or Basallo + Kjerstad other I’m just moving on
-
Robert Murray on his Baseball Insiders podcast today starting at 23:50 had some interesting info specifically speaking to scouts, players, agents that he spoken to about Crochet. If he goes to the Orioles, Sox need to get Mayo or Holliday back, sorry not sorry, his upside is insane and this is his first year as a starter

Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs

I read this as “Hey Dodgers and O’s your offers suck, time to ? or get off the pot” -
Someone please help convince me otherwise but looking at both Crochet and Skubal’s baseball savant page, they are a lot closer than some make it seem. I understand that Skubal has more starting experience but I’d argue that Crochet has more value because of the less strain on his arm than Skubal. Crochet is 2 years younger and has the same amount of years on his contract. Crochet looks dominant in his 1st year as a starter. Also in the all star game one thing that stood out to me post Skubal’s inning he said something along the lines of “could I not give up a hard hit”. I feel like Getz should be asking for the same package that the Tigers are looking for Skubal. Again I’m biased but I just feel like in the playoffs Crochet can make a bigger impact than Skubal can come playoff time
-
Or put a package together that includes Mayo and Kjerstad+++ for Crochet and Robert.
-
I think it’s more likely they make a bigger splash of Luis Robert and Garret Crochet than trading for Skubal especially if they’re talking about trading Cedric Mullins
-
Dodgers interested in Robert, Crochet, Pham

I think Getz is gonna ask for more than even the Mariners would be willing to give up. I have always felt that the M’s and Randy Arozarena are the perfect match and he shouldn’t cost as much as Robert would. For me it’s the Phillies or potentially a package deal of Robert and Crochet to the O’s for a massive haul including Coby Mayo and Heston Kjerstad -
Just thinking in regards to Crochett and the Orioles as a potential landing spot. Kind of cool that Mike Elias is getting some really advanced scouting with Adley catching all three of Skubal, Crochett, and Mason Miller.
-
There’s zero shot that Jerry Reinsdorf has any clue who a Spencer Jones is.
-
Still needs to be either Basallo or Mayo for me, if neither are involved then move on and I’m not giving them Fedde either
-
Think he meant that as satire because I’m sure Mike Elias isn’t offering Mayo/Basallo because he loves prospect hugging
-
I’ve been about as pessimistic about promoting from within a bad organization but it’s hard to deny the strides the minor league teams have made. Their farm is most likely going to be top 5 to end the season, which different from last rebuild has much stronger depth especially on the pitching side Once Pedro is out at seasons end, I actually kind of think the Sox are in a good place for the future. I will never allow myself to go full blown “Pray for the League” again but there’s something here. Here’s to hoping the Sox have another strong draft, hopefully they keep Luis Robert and Crochett and use both as foundation pieces but if they decide not to it’s because a team(s) paid a premium which oddly enough I trust Getz to get right.
-
White Sox could have simply taken De Los Santos in the Rule 5 draft in the offseason, looking at his number think they’re bummed they passed on him?
-
Rikuu Nishida on the way - minus the power
-
Wonder what a Jo Adell would cost the Sox, don’t think the Angels would trade him now after the strong year he’s having but while the Sox should be selling, they should be looking to buy also
-
Is it wrong to want the Sox to embarrass themselves?

The more negative attention on Jerry, the better, keep losing ugly baby! -
Went to the game today and my god this team is awful, is such a numb feeling going to the games now. It’s wild to me that an owner of not just one but TWO major league sports teams in one of the most passionate sports cities in the world can be so damn tone def, FFS just let someone else make this organization great. The SOB said David Eckstein is his favorite baseball player of all time, god I hate Jerry Reinsdorf.

The worst part about this is we’re gonna wake up tomorrow and Jerry Reinsdorf is still gonna be the owner of this baseball team. -
It’s gonna be a White Sox X notification to break the news

Think it was James and another mentioned 2 of Kjerstad, Cowser, and Westburg.
