yes he wants to be a starter, But he'd still be a full time player with 60 to 70 games behind the plate and 60 to 70 games at DH. he'll be in 140 to 150 games. his career and Yasmani's will be extended greatly not having the wear and tear to catch 140 to 150 games. maybe 3 years 25 gets it done with incentives to make another 2 or 3 million a year. He may also have an Abreu attitude and want to be here the next couple of years when this thing peaks. Just hoping, been waiting for another 2005 and hopefully it wouldn't be a 1 and done.

We have a shot, I'd say because of are 2 studs. Gio and Dallas could win both. if we split, we might be done. Dunning, Cease, and Lopez i don't think could win game 3. I hope to God i'm wrong if we lose game 1 or 2. The other question is can these kids handle the pressure?? THE BIGGEST ADVANTAGE WE HAVE FOR THE KIDS IS NOBODY IN THE STANDS. anything can happen in a best of 3 and we have the starters and the offense to do it if our kids can handle the pressure.

We need to pay McCann and keep him on the team at all costs. He signed a 1 year deal for about 5.4 million and Hahn was stupid not put in a second year option with a buyout, are we really surprised he'd make a mistake like that???? He's Giolito's personal catcher. Yasmani will be the old Yasmani next year. We'll save some money when Encarnacion's 13 million off the books. Colome' will probably be gone, that's 10 million , Gio Gonzalez 5 million is gone. That's is 28 million. 2 years 15 million would be fair with a 3rd year option and buyout. he and Yasmani can switch off as DH's and when they both play Yasmani can play 1st and Abreu can DH for some rest. We have all the young stars signed to team friendly contracts. they bullpen is young and cheap with tremendous potential. We still need another stud starter and the money is there, Hahn has to step up and make this happen, we also have Vaughn waiting in the wings.

Don't get me wrong or storm the gates, i'm not saying he should not hit # 9. He's too good a contact hitter. but think of the possibilities of hitting with Anderson at # 2 protecting him and Anderson getting Abreu protection!!! Just bored watching this beat down.

Also, looking opinions for my next topic that will coming up. Madrigal, should he stay #9, move up to #2 or even lead off with Anderson at # 2. Think about it, Madrigal get's Anderson protection, Anderson get's Abreu Protection.

Anybody know what top line pitchers may a free agent that would be worth Keuchel type money, thats what we need!!!!

touche', but he's gone!!! and yes he also was a HUGE waste. Add it up. 13m for Encarnacion, 6m for Cishek, 5m for Gio G. 4 or 5 m for Mazara. close to 30 million. We could signed a quality pitcher. We don't need to acquire any offense for next year. Even our bench is above average.

I would like a refund on Encarnacion, Gio Gonzales and Mazara. a waste of about 17m that could have been spent on a pitcher the like of Mehta or someone of that stature. And whatever we're paying Renteria is also TOO MUCH. We need to invest in a REAL MANAGER, another quality starter to go with Giolitto and Keuchel. Lopez obviously is not the answer, who knows if Rodon will ever return to his old form. Cease and Dunning?? Not sure if they have what it takes and if by some miracle, Kopech can play MAYBE that's the answer at the 3 or 4 slot. We don't know the plans for Crochet yet. I don't know who's on the market during the winter. If anyone knows please post it. Saving grace is the Parrot Head is here this year and gone. Don't know about Gio G's contract, but gut him loose. Cease and Dunning needed a this year in the minors, but it is what it is. They may develop next year. With this offensive, 1 more stud starter and we will win the Central easily next year. It might by Kopech, it might not be. Maybe Cease/Dunning combine as a 5th starter throwing 4 innings each. LOL, only kidding!!!! We need as i've said in another post, RESIGN MCCANN!!!!! he and Yasmani can trade off catching and DH.

I also am done with the Crotchet responses, we all know he has Chris Sale POTENTIAL. Starter or reliever next year?? Let the powers that be make that decision. We can possibly build a great bullpen for 2021 whether he's a Starter or Reliever/Closer. Huer, Foster, Bummer, Marshall, Fry!!! And that's if Crotchet is a starter, not to mention Colome if they decide to resign him( which i doubt). Who's to say that they don't add Cease or Dunning to the bullpen for next year?? You never know what they may do. Is Kopech going to the bullpen early next year to start season because he took the year off and still recovering from TJ Surgery? Will still only have 2 legit Starters for 2021, Giolito and Keuchel, Lopez and Kopech don't count yet and i believe Rodon may be done or ALSO going to the bullpen!! LOL. That's all i have to say right now until a new topic comes up.

Watching Crotchet toss 2 innings tonight with a devastating slider to go along with his amazing 100 mph fastball. he did great. If they don't stretch him next year to try and make him a starter, he'll definitely be in line to pitch the 8th inning and eventually close. Bummer could be the closer next year if they don't pick up Colome's option. Really building a low cost GREAT bullpen with these young guys.

Agree, need a REAL MANGER!!! Ricky is a fugazi manager for you Donni Brasco fans, you know what i mean. Reinsdorf spends 24 million on Donovan for the BULLS AND 24,000 for Renteria. We need Jerry to step up. Remember, he fired Doug Collins and brought in Phil Jackson. We need a REAL Manager.

Ok, i'm getting slammed a bit for the " Great Pitching Coach Remark". Ok, maybe not great but still good. But now it seems the problem is Renteria!!!! It looks like the Cubs were right when they let him go for Maddon. The Sox i believe took him for 2 reasons--- He was cheap and they thought he'd relate to the heavy Latin Roster. We always seem to be pennywise and dollar foolish. Encarnacion seems to waste, could have rotated rotated McCann and Grandl as DH'S and Mazara looks like a waste both offensively and defensively. Much better of with Engel in right full time. Gio was a waste of money along with Cisek. we could have signed Mehta with the Cisek, Encarnacion, Gonzales and Mazara money. Getting sick watching tonight's game with the Cubs, 7-0 in the 6th. Renteria has to go, bring back Ozzie!!!! LOL. We need a proven winner to manage a team that could be better than the 2005 team. Starter or reliever?? Great start but 3 innings in college and 1 inning in majors does not make a career. 101 fastball? Great!! But very little movement. Good hitters can catchup to 101. Pluses we have is is a GREAT PITCHING COACH. very good catchers that can call a great game and pitch framing He can be a great one but let’s not rush him. We brought Giolito along properly, Bummer etc is he a starter or reliever. That needs to be determined Bummers return in his old form is key to getting to the WS. Huer looks great!! Foster looks like a stud. Jace is coming along. We have the potential to have a really great shut down bullpen.
