  1. We could have won this game if we used our available resources better. We needed to pinch hit for Harrison and /or Hasely in the 9 th trailing by one. Zavala had to pinch hit, he has been hot and can hit the Crawford boxes easier than those two. TLR just doesn’t like to pinch hit and invariably lets our scrubs hit late in close games.
  2. His base hit was an infield hit high chopper to third. He had no business hitting in the 9th.
  3. Would take my chances with Zavala over Hasely particularly when we need a homer to tie in the 9th. TLR should know this as well.
  4. It was a Crawford box homer , not a homer in most other parks. Guys like Abreu, Robert, Vaughn, Burger, zpollock can reach the Crawford boxes but none did. It’s like hitting the Monster at Fenway.
  5. At least Pollock trade is looking better. Pollock starting to hit. Tonight Kimbrel gave up two runs late to Cleveland in a tied game, and the Dodgers lost. Kimbrel ERA is over 4.
  6. You mean TLR didn’t believe we could come back. He showed it by not pinch hitting for our two scrubs batting 8 th and 9th in a one run game.
  7. Hit some cheapie Crawford box home runs ourselves. It’s hard to come back in games without hitting home runs.
  8. They should have pinch hit Zabala for Hasely. Zabala is a veteran and has some pop and can reach the Crawford boxes while Hasely is a rookie and a lefty. We can’t win with TLR at the helm in close games. How can you expect to start the 9 th one run back and start the inning with Harrison and the rookie Hasely.
  9. TLR not pinch hitting for Harrison in a one run game in the 9th would be managerial malpractice.
  10. Not worse than Harrison. Our 8th and 9th hitters today have been brutal.
  11. The team has not been able to take advantage of the Crawford boxes. The Astros are peppering those boxes and killing us with homers. Sox have the fourth lowest homer count in the majors.
  12. He has been a rally killer tonight. Unfortunate that he had to come up with RISP twice and pop up both times. We can’t play guys like this against good teams like the Astros. When TA7 is back, Josh should be disappeared from the roster.
  13. Yes, at least look for a ball to hit in the air, and not the usual ground ball to short. What are you referring to?
  14. I guess in this case we had a slow runner at 3 rd n Burger which made the squeeze choice more difficult.
  15. Failure to get a runner in from 3 rd with less than 2 outs. It’s been a curse for the Sox this season. Harrison did not deliver.
  16. Reese has been one of our better throwing catchers of the last few years.
  17. Heseley looked like a minor leaguer in his first at bat, and so did Harrison. Big wasted opportunity.
  18. Was stupid throw to third. Have to keep double play in order. Not much of a chance of throwing Bergman at third, and even less with Burger playing 3 rd.
  19. We better have a big lead going into 6 th -7 th if Sousa/ruizFoster have to hold the fort.
  20. Enough of hitting Leury in the first three spots for starters.
