GT 6-4: Dodgers @ Sox (7:10pm)
hankchifan replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2022 Season in Review
Dodgers announcer calling out TLR for leading off with one of his worst hitters. That you should always lead off with one of your better hitters, as this guy gets to bat the most times in the game. TLR is just too stubborn with his matchup and Leury obsessions.b Looks like we are punting another game with the stupid TLR lineup. -

Should have been hitting 5 th ahead of the awful Grandal, we could have had 2 runs.. -

Should not have them hitting 1sT, 3rd, 5th. Moncada could not move Robert to 3rd. And Grandal could not drive him in. According to the Dodgers broadcaster Grandal has the lowest batting average in MLB. I would venture to say Moncada is there too. No way Grandal should be hitting a5 th. -

This game was another punt by our punter TLR. -

Thanks to Hahn for doing such a crappy job loading up with relievers and doing zero about getting some quality lefties. Last season Hahn got two all star closers but no quality left handed position players. -

TLR playing the matchup game with crappy switch hitters hitting 1st., 3rd and 5 th. And Sheets has been pretty crappy lately. At least, we didn’t get Harrison tonite. -

We got Leury hitting lead off , Moncada 3rd. ,and Grandal 5 th. TLR back to his old tricks - lefty/righty matchups no matter how bad the lefties are. BTW, Leury promptly swung at the first pitch of the game and popped out. No patience, no working counts, no walks, looks like Gosolin is going deep into this game. -

One of the best games of the year. First game in a long time that I don’t have to question a TLR decision. Keep it going. -

Moncada to seconds sounds like a good choice. He has already played many games at second before. We need to get Harrison off the field. -

Good plan. Then DFA Harrison. -

No patience. Not working counts to get a good pitch to hit. Nobody looking for a walk. Everybody taking big cuts. Not trying to put a ball in play, just going for the fences. Too many scrubs on the lineup, ie. Harrison, coming up with the bases loaded. It has been a major embarrassment. -

Need Anderson and Eloy back ASAP. Improve the bottom third of the lineup which has been brutal. Josh Harrison needs to be out of the lineup. -

We just don’t work counts or take walks, allowing opposing SP work deep into games. -

Where was Hahn and co. When we needed to acquire some quality lefty OF? I guess going through the list of available relievers from every MLB team. -

Sox beat the Rays 2 out of 3 in St. Pete, so we can take out the Dodgers at home. -
Nothing. TLR still around making life miserable for Sox nation.

Doesn’t the pitching coach or bench coach ever advise TLR on what is best to do.? Or are we saddled with coaches who are afraid to contradict a HOF manager and have converted to merely yes men? -

TLR should go for mental acuity and cognitive ability tests. It’s just too many bad, unexplainable decisions. -

Unnecessarily close for leaving Giolito in too long, and not piling in more runs after the 2nd inning, even though we had 16 hits. -

It’s TLR madness. No win is an easy win with TLR in charge. -

We have a deep reliever roster. Use them! Giolito should have been pulled out earlier in the 6 th. Before a below the Mendoza line 9 th hitter gets a 2 run homer. TLR needs to go. Any other manager in MLB with all his blunders would have been fired by now. -

Grandal error opened the gate. He should not have been playing at 1B in the first place and should not ever play 1B again for the Sox.
