Burr is not a MLB caliber pitcher, suitable at best for mop up duty one step ahead of a position player pitching. He should be sent down tonight to Charlotte on a Greyhound one way Ticket along with Banks, so TLR cannot bringing them in relief again..
Need to clean up house both on FO and on the field coaching, and very soon or this season is over. No more bad managing, over resting, lack of coaching, no sense of urgency, geriatric organization, etc.
Our hitters are not patient and we do not wait for a good pitch to hit with the bases loaded, and we don’t take walks so it is more difficult to load the bases or walk-in a run.
Don’t we have hitting coaches? Don’t we have other coaches supporting the hitting coaches? Where is TLR? What does Cairo do? He is practically invisible.
Sox are very averse to crooked number innings. Think a lack of homers and not talking walks are factors. It is hard to win games without a crooked number here and there, particularly with the bad Sox D.
TLR normally rests the best paid players who are getting millions to grab bench several times a month. When you clinch a playoff spot, then you can start resting right and left. Somebody should send the memo to TLR, which should also tell him it is not a sin to pinch hit with a resting player in a game situation.
This is the third game that Banks has pretty much lost it for the Sox. Why isn’t he at Charlotte? Stick with Sousa or anybody else in the bullpen. Don’t bring him in close games.
Good for them. TLR is too stubborn and inflexible. Does not adjust and doesn’t maximize the use of his bench when warranted. I think he has only pinched hit 5 times the whole season. TLR should resign or retire, he is ineffective and is ruining our season. Miguel Cairo should go with TLR as well. What has he done this season? Is he advising TLR or is he afraid to contradict him?
