And we don’t take a walk. Only one tonight against the Angels. Second lowest walk rate in the majors. We were more patient last year. We could use more base runners. One of our most patient hitters with high OBP, Madigal, was foolishly traded last season.
I was surprised too. Kimbrel did not work out, we did not need a second closer, and we traded a a young, first rounder who is a high OBP guy who does not strike out. Another Hahn mistake.
I place #1 issue is TLR horrible managing job. Pitching to Buxton in the 10 th today was unbelievably stupid. Not pinch hitting Grandal yesterday. Hitting Leury in the 3 rd spot hitting .059. The list of blunders goes on and on.
TLR needs to go now. Pitching to Buxton in the 10th with first base open is a fireable offense. In every Sox game there are questions about TLR bad decisions. He is the worst Sox manager that I can remember going back to the 60s. He is not the same at 77/78 than in the 1980s. Only people that don’t retire at 78 are Supreme Court justices and business owners. Send TLR back to Tampa with a one way ticket or make him a Sox ambassador or give him a non executive manager emeritus title, but get him off the field.
Jeremy Colliton got fired by the Hawks for a 1-9 start. TLR has seven straight losses going. He should do the right thing and resign/retire, and bring some energy back into the team.
Do the Sox have a problem with their strength and conditioning program? Are the guys stretching properly. Seems that we have so many hamstring/ leg injuries.
